The hotel is in the center of Tuwenba, next to the shopping center, there are large supermarkets and restaurants, there is also a Korean supermarket, you can buy steamed buns, instant noodles and other foods, the hotel room has a microwave oven, an induction cooker, pots and pans, you can cook by yourself, very convenient, there is also a parking lot.
This is the hotel I choose to stay at when travelling to Toowoomba for work. It has a bit of an old school, country friendliness vibe to it, which I like and everyone at work tells me they had their wedding reception there! The beds are comfortable and the room well set up for a stay of a night or two. The food on site is good pub food. The staff at reception are fantastic and every time I check in they say 'welcome back' which is nice! Hotel is centrally located and has off street parking (at no cost, unlike some of the other hotels in town).
Reception here is great. We arrived into Toowoomba and caught up with family before checking in. I didn't realise reception closed at 7pm. I received a call asking whta time I was expected and the receptionist explained that as the office closed at 7pm she would organise for our keys to be left in the night safe. That was really great customer service and we appreciated it. Potters, from the website, looks rather up market, but for us the room was dark and cramped. The bed was super comfortable (better than our bed at home) but the pillows were huge and lumpy. The nice thing about the room was that it had a sliding door that opened to a rather unwelcoming outside area. It was nice to be able to get cool, fresh air into the room though. At night the room was really dark and quiet despite having the sliding door and curtains open (there is a fly wire screen door too). We hadn't factored in that the hotel is right beside a child care centre, that during the week (and to a lesser extent Saturday morning) is quite noisy due to the playing children. This noise starts at around 7.30pm and gets louder and louder until around 9am when the children must go inside to play. It's a happy sound but maybe annoying if you wanted to sleep in. Mind you, if we had had the sliding door shut, most of that noise would be blocked. You can get breakfast here, which I have heard good reports about, but the service finishes at 9.30am so look sharp! This is an okay place to stay, but with no real character. We stayed in a ”deluxe king room”. It wasn't especially deluxe but the bed was a king sized one. I liked how quiet and dark the rooms were at night time, but I will probably look elsewhere for our next stay.

We go to Toowoomba roughly once a month and after trying a few different places we have settled on Quest. The staff are great and all the facilities are perfect for our needs. The rooms are clean, don’t have that “hotel smell” and the beds are comfortable. We always ask for a room overlooking Queens Park which is beautiful.

Apartments are within walking distance to the city center. Secure parking available. Apartments are large, clean, well equipped and comfortable. Management couldn't do enough to make your stay comfortable. After a night of howling whistling winds and not being able to sleep due to the noise from the wind, management went out of their way to accommodate us and move us to a middle apartment. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them. They aimed to please and that's exactly what they did. The apartment has reverse air conditioning so whilst the temperatures dropped to single digits outside, our apartment was toasty warm. TV has all channels and Fox so enough channels to find something to watch at night. Bed rooms are spacious and beds comfortable. Bathroom is equipped beautifully znd the shower bigger than most with a lovely rain head in the shower. Water pressure and temperature is great. Kitchen appliances are great. The microwave doubles also as a regular oven, so cooking a meal is easy. Apartments also have washer and drier in the kitchen do no need for taking half your wardrobe if you are staying for a week or so. Would I recommend Laguna, yes certainly would.
Everything was great. Very good value for money. Spacious suite with large desk, double sofa, balcony, king sized bed, kitchenette and ensuite. Beautiful modern decor with lovely artwork: black and white photographs of the old buildings around Toowoomba. Staff were excellent. Car parking and cafe available onsite as well as room service.
A funny little motel, not far from town, tucked away in some shopping centre. If you blinked you'd miss it. On Ruthven Street but come in off White street to the side. Built in maybe the 1970s, it has tall if smallish rooms but everything you need. The bathroom has been re-done and is clean, bright and with a lovely hot shower. Basic toiletries are provided and enough towels for all. Neighbour got a bit willing during the mid evening but that was sorted promptly by the don't mess with me lady manager. One thing that all proved is that soundproofing between the rooms is excellent. We stayed a night only, being on a driving holiday of the Downs and North NSW. It was convenient with really nice people running it and central location at a very low price. Double and single in a room for three for less than $138. Chinese restaurant up the road. All sorts of places deliver. The room has cups, cutlery and more so it's easy to have it delivered and a nice touch; a Tim Tam and bottle of cold water in the fridge gratis. We'd be happy to overnight there again. A longer stay would need a bigger room. They might have such a thing, maybe in the upstairs rooms. You'd have to ask.
Great value, excellent location, clean, comfy bed and friendly service! What more can you want. This motel is close to the CBD of Toowoomba, walking distance to great cafes for breakfast! Opposite the beautiful Queens park. There a sparkling pool and easy parking on site. We will be back 😁

KK TThis places is in such a great location and has beautiful facilities, but that's as far as I can say in regards to Athena. We had nothing but dramas staying here. Checked in about 5.30pm. Paid for a 1 bedroom apartment. Opened door to find 1 bed studio room with wheel chair facilities. Went back to the reception and the lady had apologised and said they had new staff on and they had allocated the wrong room. Said they could offer another room and she had to Check there wasn't going to be cost. Which I was not going to pay even if they tried as this was their error. So I had to split my family up to sleep in separate rooms. She told me they would text I'm the morning once our original room was ready, so when I went to check out of 1 room a different girl said we would have to be out of both rooms. Which I had explained the whole reason we booked 2 nights is due to a wedding. I was not happy as we had to pack up everything and checkout, so I said we will have to go down to the local mall. And that i wanted room ready by 12.Well 30mins they texted saying room was ready, however at this point we were out. I arrive back check into family room. Well Netlix that they advertised did not work ok their so called smart TV. It wasn't one as the remote was old ans didn't have the smart TV buttons. Anyway called up the girl she said she wasn't too sure why it's not working when she came up to have a look. She said she will text her manager to ask why. She then said they been having issues with tvs and we don't seem to have netflix. At this point I'm like whatever, we have been mucked around enough. Then later on I hopped into be to watch normal satellite TV and that didn't even work it was glitching and the picture wasn't coming up. So it was clearly just off to bed for me. I was so upset with the stay so I wrote to the premise and all they could respond was deflecting information like they had done us a solid for putting us up in another room for free on the first night. And that they had checked both TVs and they were working with Netflix and getting a clear picture.. which is a load of crap. And to be made out like one staff told me one thing but another told me another and i was wrong. You either need to have a better communication system to leave notes or train your staff better. You will see the response from site from screen shot and also images of clearly Glitching TV. Considering we paid$200 a night that's Hotel prices with motel experience. If Athena you see this, do not try and respond to cover your own reputation. Because this was due to lack of experience and poor customer service skills some of your staff.
GGo07288096678Enjoyable stay, the room was clean, large, well designed and reasonably modern. The stay was good value for money. Beautiful location near the top of Margaret St and a short walk to Queens Park and a nice walk down to the main town street. Staff were excellent and very professional. On-site restaurant was good and breakfast well priced and delicious. Great to have a microwave, plates and fridge and a small balcony. Will stay again.
I stay at a lot of motels and this one would be one of the best I have stayed in in the last 12 months. Staff were friendly and helpful and at $149.00 a night (booked only a few days beforehand) it was excellent value for money. The room was a true four star standard with modern bathroom and air-conditioning that worked well. The bed was comfortable. This property has a restaurant where I enjoyed a well-cooked dinner watching the sunset from my table. I had an early start the following morning so the staff were able to provide a continental breakfast tray to my room after dinner. This is in contrast to some properties that charge around the same price or more but are too lazy (and blame Covid-related staff shortages of chefs) to provide even a continental breakfast. You don't need a chef to provide a continental breakfast.
Stayed for 11 nights Spacious clean room, fabulous bathroom, a balcony or courtyard for each room, free laundry ! Gold service from the staff in the bar, restaurant and breakfast service, big shout out to Rena and Amanda Shower the chefs with diamonds, for offering consistent top quality food, it was such a wonderful bonus ! and last and not certainly the least, Thomas, the manager is the rare find, with exceptional customer service skills who absolutely delivers the platinum touch ! Highly recommended and will definitely be coming back 🩷
Checked in late 11pm and staff were friendly and helpful. Good clean and tidy room at good rate. Bed was comfy, had a queen and single in room so there was heaps of space. The pub next door was open and opens late so good if you want a night cap. Just what was expected. Is stay again.
Blamed for basin blockage and made to pay $150 in plumbing fees to unblock their well over due blocked up bathroom basin!!! Absolutely disgusted! We are Toowoomba City golf club members, and have stayed at this hotel on several occasion, and have also stayed in this room…bring room 46 on several occasions. Each time upon our stay in this room…we noticed the bathroom basin was draining very slowly, however never reported it until the 30/4/23, after I had a coughing episode which resulted an episode of vomiting into the bathroom basin. We were consequently “blamed” for the basin becoming blocked due to my single episode of vomiting, of which I spent over an hour cleaning up afterwards, and my husband was charged $150 on his credit card to unblock a basin blockage on the drain which was obviously blocked and had accumulated blockage throughout several years of patron usage, combined with the obvious lack of maintenance by the motel staff to upkeep drains as you do in your own home ….up until when we were honest about the drain blocking on up on the 30/4/23. This is disgusting! The treatment of patrons, and regular patrons is even more disgusting! this hotel is in desperate need of major renovations, it is NOT a 4.5 star hotel, the property is NOT maintained regularly, blames their shortcomings on it’s patrons, and worst still..charges them for their own ongoing maintenance costs! Don’t stay here! We are Toowoomba City Club Golf Memvers, and will NEVER stay here again! My husband did the right thing by advising the staff that their basin was blocked…and in return copped a $150 bill for his honesty!
Stayed 2 nights on apartment 1. The room had a queen and single bed. It was quite a large room with a desk, sofa, tv and closet. The bathroom was large but because it was made for disabled guests, the shower was just a curtain and a drain. It flooded easily which made rest of the bathroom wet. That aside, the rest of the room was good. Located just 5 mins from cafes, restaurants and grand central shopping mall.
WWarrenR423Not being familiar with Toowoomba, we picked Garden City Motel initially because of its obvious handy location. Glad we did. Lynne, the owner, was so friendly and helpful, specially as we had a couple of extra requests (happily granted), and importantly the tariff was very reasonable compared to what a lot of motels now charge now days. Rooms are very clean, the beds comfy, and not noisy from road. Thank you Lynne for being a great hostess, for going the extra mile, and for your sensibly reasonable room tariff.
Older style courtyard motel. Excellent value in deluxe double room. Clean, spacious bathroom, roomy shower recess with a small step, plenty of bench space. Double and single bed, table with two chairs as well as desk/bench in bedroom. Frig, kettle etc. and microwave, TV, iron etc, hair dryer and hanging space. Quiet street opposite Toowoomba Grammar School. Noise from motel courtyard was audible in our room but all was quiet by 9pm. The curtains were not block-out, did not close completely so room was a tad light overnight. Next door motel restaurant was closed to all but its own guests so we drove 4km to suburban shopping centre for a delicious meal at Thai on High Street, which had been rated well on Trip Advisor and lived up to its ratings.
