Just 15 minutes from Grafton town centre, Clarence River Bed & Breakfast is really a gem you can’t miss. Very peaceful and nice surroundings. We were greeted by a lovely wallaby, Molly, when we arrived. The couple who run the B & B were very nice and friendly. Our room was upstairs with a balcony facing the river. We sat there enjoying the welcoming cheese platter and wine. After that we soaked ourselves into the salt and bubble bath, so relaxing. We also had our dinner here with the couple, we enjoyed our food had a nice chat too. The breakfast was simple but good enough to start your day. Before we left, we walked around the place and it’s really a nice place to stay for more days. Suitable for family too. One thing my partner and I love most are the timber furniture made by the owner, so unique and special. Highly recommend!
It is very convenient for drivers. The staff will leave work after 5pm, call the contact information on the door, they will tell you the password of the safe deposit box, after opening, take away the envelope with your name, the room number and key are stored in it NS. Check out and give the key directly to the staff to leave.
Next to the hotel is the monastery, and the surrounding jacarandas are beautiful when they are in full bloom. Going west to the end of the river, walking slowly along the bank of the river at dusk is a good memory.
There are no security guards, no service personnel, and local security is estimated to be very good. There is a large shopping mall opposite, there are several large supermarkets and catering collection stores, the supermarket closes at 9 o'clock, and the other businesses close at 5 o'clock.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, the bed was comfortable, the requested microwave was provided, the location was convenient, parking was easy but all the positives were offset by the terrible plumbing and unreliable office hours. On the first night we couldn't get hot water. Reception said to run it for longer and eventually it did come through. The basin tap pressure was such that water bounced straight back up, going everywhere almost every time. The shower rose sprayed out everywhere instead of a nice steady stream. On the second day we were able to have luke warm showers. On the third day it was totally cold showers. Although the posted hours say reception would be there from 8am there was no help available. We noticed that they close up in the evening way before the stated time on the reception door. There appeared to be many empty rooms during our stay so we are unsure why we were put in an upstairs room forcing us to lug our gear up and down. A room more convenient to the parking would have really been appreciated.

We were very impressed by the cleanliness of our (7) room....not a speck of dust anywhere, bathroom and toilet pristine, kitchen area , fridge and utensils spotless and praised reception on check out as to the immaculate condition of the room. Whilst not a new motel the room had recently had a makeover, so the carpet was near new, with good paint and prints on the wall. The queen bed was supportive and comfortable due to having a mattress topper. Within walking distance to KFC and shopping centre. Would definitely stay again and can recommend.
Fitzroy Motor Inn is in a great location! As a family of 5 we stayed in a family suite / room. The room was spacious with enough room overnight to accommodate all of us. The room was extremely clean, neat and tidy. The beds were really comfortable - all of the linen was fresh. We were travelling with a trailer (with motorcycles), the owner was nothing short of accommodating and was extremely pleasant and easy to to chat too. He made some great recommendations for dinner at a local hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay overnight at the Fitzroy - would recommend and definitely stay again!
This motel has to be one of the best I have ever stayed in. It presents immaculately and the grounds and room was so clean and also immaculate. The room I was given, room 7, had its own private carport and out the back own private little oasis yard with table and chairs. The size of the room is fantastic. Same as the size of the modern bathroom and shower. I could not fault this property at all, Very spacious, clean and comfortable and a very welcoming check-in. I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone needing to stay at Grafton on their trip. It is also a stroll down to the local Coles and other handy shops. Would and will certainly stay here again anytime. 5 stars from me.
We booked this last minute as we were driving all day and then decided to stop here. We did not mind the self check in procedure. It was very efficient. The room was small but we had Aircon, wifi, fridge, microwave, dishes and cutlery. Also a toaster, kettle and cook top. We like to make our own breakfast in the morning so this worked well. For one night, this was fine. It was also very quiet. No noise from the other rooms or from the road.
I stayed here on a work trip recently for 4 nights. I've never met such a warm, hospitable host at a motel. Michelle is very friendly and welcoming, she can't do enough for you. The room I stayed in was great, with a nice firm bed. The bathrooms have been renovated, there is ample space as the rooms have a lounge area with a kitchenette and separate bedroom. Everything is decorated above and beyond what you would expect at a motel. Whilst the motel is on a highway, road noise tends to die down from around 8pm to 5:30am. You may hear a train go past at night (I did on two nights). I will definitely stay here again if I need somewhere to stay in Grafton.
The motel booked on the temporary road, the staff is very warm with Chinese.
The room decoration is old, and the temporary night is not a big problem.
Not far from the high speed is more convenient to hurry, the price is OK
What a Grafton gem! The Glenwood management team were tremendous. Very friendly and welcoming. We stayed in a grassy powered site, close to the pool over the Christmas/New Year period. Great sized sites that were very well maintained. A quiet and peaceful location away from the main part of town. Very central to the beautiful North Coast beaches. A great base for our day trips. Facilities were very good. Showers and toilets were always clean and in working order. Amazing water pressure! Great camp kitchen. Awesome BBQ and plenty of pots, pans and utensils. Picnic tables were scattered around the park for use by campers. Smooth, safe roads for the kids to ride their bikes. Pool area was great with lots of seating. There is a large lap pool plus a smaller kids pool both clean and with plenty of shade. Thanks again for a lovely stay.
