The hotel is very general, the conditions of the motel are not flattering, living in a house facing the street, the sound insulation is very bad. After living for a day, I changed the hotel.

I had seen this park advertised several times and we were on the road heading north from Adelaide with a week to go & no plan. Straight away I jumped online & made the booking for 2 nights. I was already impressed when we drove upto the front reception. As I'd already filled out most of the details on an email I'd received after the online booking, checking in was less than 5 mins. We keyed in our gate code, and were met by a staff member who took us to our river front powered camp site. We were given a quick run down of where everything was & left to it... omg this place is amazing. From the lovely helpful staff members at reception, the awesome cleaning staff who were so friendly, the amazing outdoor cinema, the pool area, the kids play areas, the big camp kitchen, the spotless bathrooms & it even had a gym!!!. We loved it so much we extended our stay an extra 2 nights. Had we more time, our boat & fishing gear we would have stayed longer.

Reviewing the golf course. I went to play this morning. If heard that the course had recently dropped from 18 to 9 holes and needed some love but I was not prepared for what I encountered. $20 for a round of golf is fairly decent these days but buyer beware. First off I had to start on the 7th hole as the first tee had sprinklers on it. The tee box had barely any grass and the signage did not match the course which also did not match the scorecard distance and layout. The greens were just low-mowed weeds and half the round was spend dodging muddy sections of the course. The fairways were covered in weeks worth of animal poo. Upon walking around though I saw the positives. It was a cheap round and I wad the only one on the course. Great if you are just starting in golf and want to play a round without the pressure of other patrons catching up or watching. These positive thoughts were completely ruined when I got to my 6th hole. I was lining up to tee off and some groundkeepers pulled up in the middle of the fairway I was about to hit on. Looked at me and then kept standing there with their backs to me working on a drain. Any normal golf course the greenkeepers would allow you to tee off and then continue their work. I hit once they eventually moved off and kept walking only to watch them turn on all of the sprinklers on the fairways I was about to play on. I gave up and left after 6 holes. It felt like I was getting hints from them to leave. Seriously, I've never played at a course that waters everything at 930am mid week. Its like they don't want people to play. On returning home my interest was peaked. Some internet digging found that a development has been approved for the golf course land for housing and camp grounds. It seems the new owners of the land don't care about the course and are just waiting to sell the land and make their money that way. Sad really.
We put a bid in for two nights at the Big River Golf and Country club and were very happy with our stay. Complimentary snacks and mini bar plus bottle of wine on arrival and $50 voucher for use at the tavern. We had a lovely dinner with friends at both the Tavern and Earth restaurant and had a relaxing stay. Highly recommended. Friendly staff too.
