Amazing room, thought i could live there! It had a washing machine and a dishwaser and lounge room. The bedroom was lovely too, sliding mirror cupboards nd a tv. The bed was so comfy too, wish i could have stayed longer. Also the shower pressure was great! You know how hotel showers can be iffy, this one was hot and good presure. Also had a bath which was great to relax after a long day. Only thing i didn't love was the fact the iron was steamless. I understand that's probably safety. It did the trick.
Rooms clean and modern even thought he external face of building is dated the room re clean and contemporary.
Front desk officer a bit rude - but only one interaction .
No problem to stay here again - good central location next to river and easy walk to shopping ,mall and restaurant.
Great service at check-in, kindly upgraded which was much appreciated, clean rooms, great size, great location - was able to walk most places.
The only down side was that there was a smell musty, damp smell when the air con was on.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, great showers, so close to amazing restaurants. Perfect for a stop over or business! This is my fourth trip to international lodge and I will come back everytime I come through Mackay. The hotellier happily accommodated my car and trailer by moving his own vehicle. So welcoming everytime. Do recommend for no fuss accommodation.

The hotel is clean and tidy, and the bed is very comfortable to sleep. It is very close to the sea, and you can see the sea when you open the balcony door. The room has its own refrigerator, microwave, bowls and plates. I bought something to eat and put it directly in the refrigerator. The front desk of the hotel is also very welcoming and will visit again.
Check in at reception a little disappointing... other then that, excellent would definitely stay here again π

Very Good
We had a splendid 4 nights at Mantra Mackay. The staff were very helpful, caring and friendly. Many thanks especially to Julie, who organised breakfast for us on one of the days when we had to leave the hotel at 6am for an early tour. The reception staff were polite and always available to help and provide us with additional amenities and directions within the locality. The rooms were clean and spacious with plenty of natural light and a lovely view of the marina, coral sea and swimming pool, which made for a relaxing swim on a hot afternoon. The town's centre was an easy drive within a 10 minutes' from the hotel.
RRuby DoolanBoth of the young ladies who booked me in were very helpful and pleasant also the same thing with the lady who checked me out, it was lovely to have a cheerful greeting and smile when you have been driving all day. I had the chicken parmy and a drink from room service, it was lovely and also nice and hot still. The only negative was trying to find the car park!!! Maybe I'm getting old lol
Check-in went fine, young lady was polite. Got into our room to wind down and the streaming service for the television was not working. Tried multiple times following the guide on the service without success, so called for assistance. Young man came to the room, wasn't knowledgeable on the system and after pressing the same buttons and suggesting Bluetooth, (there was no suggestion that this was an option?), we were left with βWell I'm not sure, sorryβ and he walked out. There was no discussion of other options to resolve the matter, (other rooms were available), or to discuss this with his manager and have a form of compensation offered, (not that it was expected but that is hospitality and customer service. Someone is paying a lot of money for things to work, and not to have to muck around when they are staying with you at the property, or are using your restaurant and bar). Decided we would go and have an early dinner and the staff behaviour was something I have not seen before after many years in hospitality. The chef was in and out of the kitchen walking quickly through the bar area multiple times, back and forward into but never carrying anything? (And yes there was an event in the event room beside us, but still didn't make sense or appear professional). Bar and wait staff seemed disengaged, considering it was quiet. Entree was very average, bruschetta was piled high with avocado, VERY little tomato mixed through, balsamic glaze was there, with a beetroot plate flare, but every flavour was sadly lost to the avocado. Mains were lovely, steak was cooked perfectly. Bed was very comfortable, hot water was speratic but pressure was nice. Overall had heard great things about the property after researching for a special place to stay, but left feeling rather disappointed. Unfortunately won't be staying again.
JJd LHad a two night stay in two different rooms as we were not sure if we were staying a second night until later in the day. Both rooms were spacious, great showers, comfortable beds. Kids (9 and 4) both loved the playground and pool. People were absolutely delightful to deal with. Also a great pub across the road for easy dining options. Or there's microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge in the room for an easy stay in meal. We will definitely be staying here when we have to stay a night in Mackay again!
Ssolo travellerGreat place to stay with friendly staff and clean rooms. The breakfast is free and you can take it to your room on arrival from the front desk. The restaurant at the bowls club is one of the best places to dine.
GGuest UserThankyou Discovery parks McKay for restoring my faith in caravan accommodation. Michelle & Sue are the old fashioned sort of managers that at least appear to very much want you to have a great experience. Their recommendations to go to the Pioneer Valley show made for an unexpected memorable day . While there is some traffic noise we were close to the incredible wet land that the park surrounds full of bird life . We found it very quiet & spacious. The very well maintained facilities were much appreciated especially the fantastic ensuite. We initially booked for 2 nights as weβd rather park on the road than a bad caravan park however we stayed for 6 . The park is ideally located which meant weβve had a great experience in McKay m, Finch Hatten and Eungulla .
The location of this place is amazing. The oceanview rooms, I think, are in the process of being renovated as we had two rooms, side by side, 416 and 417 on the bottom floor. 416 was recently renovated (apart from the bathroom) and was quite nice, but I was disappointed with 417 as it smelled really bad, the floors felt really dirty under your feet, and the shower leaked and was riddled with mould. The TV remote had a bandaid on the back holding the battery cover in place. The blankets smelled old and like they had not been washed in a long time. The restaurant, however, was amazing!! Super big meals for affordable prices. The menu in the rooms needs to be updated, though, as there were a lot of items that were no longer being served in the restaurant, such as the lamb shanks.
JJinNice and clean room. Comfortable bed to sleep. However it was close to airport so you can hear the noise when the flights are around but it won't be any of night so don't worry about when you sleeping. Nice place to stay if I got chance would be visit again. BTW when I booking from trip.com the staff said they didn't receive my information from the website but they solved at the end so no drama at all. So I will recommend you guys if you booking for this please make a call after booking to confirm to avoid any incident.
GGuest UserArrived to find it difficult to park, first room very claustrophobic, requested a bigger room this was accommodated by a lovey staff member. (We were billed for this no issue) Very nice room, large and all amenities π. In the morning we discovered our vehicle had been ransacked, belongings stolen. We believed this to be a secure car park, on investigation the management had been advised the gate is broken, however not dealt with nor any signage to advise this is the case. The police and ladies on the front counter extremely helpful, yes there is CCTV showing the offenders. Now we wait. Disappointed the motel has made no contact with us, if staying there be extra careful. Fortunately we were returning home. No staff on site at night. There is a on all number provided. Maybe security would be helpful. I have placed a call to the management- waiting.
GGuest UserThe room was great. Big enough and comfortable also for my 4 granddaughters and myself. The beds were comfortable and relaxing. I would book again when i travel North.
