Hobart City Apartments is located right in the downtown shopping district of the city. You don't stay there for the view, but you are in the thick of things and still only a 12 minute walk to the harbor for endless choices of restaurants, bars, cafes, etc. With notice and availability, they offer underground parking for $20.00 a night. Otherwise, there is night street parking and a couple of lots close by. Though this review focusses specifically on the 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom penthouse apartment where we spent 6 nights, 3 of us first spent 1 night in two large single rooms, while awaiting availability of the Penthouse apartment. Each large room included a king bed, with end tables and lamps, a wall mounted TV, and a seating area, plus a good sized bathroom with large walk in shower. These 1 bedroom units include a small kitchen with a mini fridge, and stove top, microwave and dishwasher. Suffice to say that both the single units and the Penthouse we stayed in, are beautifully and relatively recently decorated, and very comfortable. The Penthouse apartments are large and feel quite new, like the single units. Similarly they are well appointed, and nicely decorated, with lots of light. The upstairs consists of one bedroom, with a king bed, end tables, table lamps and a wall mounted TV, plus an ensuite bathroom. The bedroom space is tight which of course, can't be helped, and so there's minimal drawer storage though enough if you plan it out well. There's a wide, deep ledge in front of the window, so one of us used that to lay out clothes, and toiletries, while the other used the shelves in the closet and though we needed more hangers, there was enough hanging space for 2 of us. The suites are relatively new so having what felt like new bathrooms was a bonus. The upstairs bathroom has no counter space but under counter storage, a large shower and it's well designed. There is no door at the top of the stairs into that bedroom/bathroom, so if privacy is an issue, be prepared. The main floor houses a small kitchen, with a microwave, full fridge and stove, flat cooktop, plus dishwasher and just enough plates, cups, glasses and utensils to get by. Don't plan on cooking a big meal though. It's best for breakfast, and serving up take-away. The adjacent living space had a large, 'pleather' (ie: looks like but isn't leather) couch and matching chair and the flat screen TV is mounted on the wall beneath a media unit, and across from the couch so it's a pleasant place to sit. Behind the occasional chair, is a small dining table, seating 6, then a sliding door, and screen out to a large but unfurnished patio. It would be nice to offer up 4 outdoor chairs and a couple of small side tables to enjoy a cocktail. The 2nd bedroom on the main floor, is larger than the upstairs, and houses a Queen size bed, end tables, with lights, and a closet. There is no TV in that room; something else they should add. The 2nd, large bathroom is across f

The location is very good. From the airport, take the first stop of the bus and walk to the hotel. You can buy food and cook in the supermarket on the pedestrian street, which is very convenient. There are many places to eat on the pedestrian street.

Clean and warm, with a historical and emotional hotel, the layout is very warm, the crafts are either left by the boss's parents or the boss's own collection, some of them are especially oriental, the boss John is very good, the kitchen downstairs eats casually There are a variety of locally produced honey jams. If you like Western breakfast, you will be more enjoyable. The location is very good and all can be reached on foot. Parking is also very convenient, the backyard will do.

Said to be a shop, specifically a large inn, downstairs is a bar, restaurant, slot machine room. The lobby is right on the side of the bar and restaurant. This shop was remodeled from an old house. There are a total of eleven rooms. On the second floor, open the door with a key, the stairs are up and down, and the key to open the door is the key to your room. The quietness of the accommodation is entirely conscious of the guests. There is only one chain on the door of the room for security measures and no anti-locking. The bathroom is big. Breakfast is a Western-style breakfast, a la carte meal, breakfast tea drink buffet, tea, water, milk, juice. The location of the hotel (inn) is very good, this is the biggest advantage.

Read reviews about an amazing place with a wonderful breakfast. Did I take a wrong turn? This couldn’t be the same place surely. A heritage home treated with complete disrespect. I see a niche market here for dodgy home renovation tours, as I’ve never quite seen anything like it! I’ve attached photos to show the state of the room we stayed in. Plastering done by a 5 year old kid perhaps? Electrical hazards at every turn, and gaps to the outside world aplenty. The “cafe” was so filthy that I would’ve appreciated a hose down with disinfectant after visiting. Yes Kevin was friendly, but WTAF was he serving up? Dirt was everywhere, unashamedly on show for all to see, so what was lurking behind the scenes? I was so repelled by my surrounds, that by the time breakfast came out I was ready to run. Kevin tried to create a conversation decoy but the chipped teapot and greasy offerings already had my stomach churning. Run Forrest, RUN!!

I went to Tasmania for a few days from Sydney, because I especially chose to go to the market on Saturday to choose this hotel. The whole is very fond of, the opening of the window is the port, the scenery is really beautiful, the blue sky and the white clouds can see people drinking coffee very comfortable, the room is also very large, relatively clean, this hotel is below the bar, but our room is inside So it’s not noisy. The market on Saturday will be able to arrive in two or three minutes. The breakfast in the morning is very delicious. I like it overall, but the door in the room is unlocked and there is no safety chain. What makes me depressed is that the door key of my room can open the access door on the second floor of the lobby staircase. Is it possible for all the keys of the guest who can open the outer door of the second floor to open my door lock? ?

When you arrive at the Grand Chancellor you will find a tiny front drive that can fit about 4 cars, where you are supposed to be able to park, check in, and then move your car to their underground parking. However, this front drive is not monitored so when we arrived the driveway was completely full with no one there to direct us anywhere. We drove around the block to enter the underground parking and unloaded our bags which we had to carry up the stairs from the parking garage as there was no guest lift that we could easily find (good luck if you have trouble with stairs). At the bottom of the stairs there is a button that you can supposedly use to call someone to assist with your bags. We tried to use this and though we could hear the bell upstairs, it was not answered (even just to let us know that someone would come), so we gave up and carried our bags up the stairs. Upon arrival to the room, we noticed it was clearly very dated. We could see some effort had been made to update the rooms visually but the installations felt very half-****d. For instance instead of a shower curtain for the bath tub there was a half glass pane that is delightfully too short and instead bounces water off its side and onto the floor. A rainfall showerhead had also been installed but it seemed like an afterthought as it was crooked and had poor water pressure. We then tried to use the pool. Upon entry, I felt like I was taken back in time to the days of dark and damp fitness centers and unmaintained pool floors & furniture. There were no staff nearby and the entire area was a mess. Walking into the locker rooms was a shock with horrible banged up smelly lockers (many of which were open but had no key to lock it!) and awful grey blue shiny tiles that bounce the cold flickering white light around. The shared sauna between male and female locker rooms was also a joke. We left without even bothering to get changed or use the pool. We then attempted to dine at the restaurant in the hotel lobby. The host at the front asked if we had a reservation which we did not. He then looked around at the many empty tables as if he was not sure what to do and then asked us to ”wait outside” as he checked availability. We have never been asked to exit any restaurant whilst they searched for a table (even in much busier restaurants) and we were very frustrated by this request. We waited outside over 5 minutes and then decided to leave and ask the front desk staff for other local restaurant recommendations. As we were on our way out, we noticed the restaurant host was hovering nearby as if he had found us a table and was waiting for us to be done but we left without another look. Upon arriving back in our room after dinner and turning off the lights to sleep, we were graced with the hallway light streaming through the large cracks in the poorly fitted door. We had to stuff the cracks with towels, and then cover the strong blue light from the thermostat (which had no function to tur

Fabulous room. Large and comfortable with a massive bathroom. Plenty of room to have your toiletries out. Very comfortable bed and pillows. We had a corner room and would request this again on our next stay. Breakfast included in our stay was one the best buffet breakfast we have had. Staff friendly and efficient. The Tasman, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Hobart
Hotel near Hobart CBD, Hobart 100% of visitors choose this area
Tasmania's natural, culinary and creative treasures are within easy reach at the award-winning hotel, The Tasman. Anchored to the waterfront precinct and in the embrace of kunanyi/Mount Wellington, Australia's first Luxury Collection hotel sits comfortably between Hobart's city centre, picturesque Derwent harbour, MONA Ferry terminal and the iconic Salamanca and Battery Point neighbourhoods. In a showcase of understated elegance by design, The Tasman is an architectural symphony; an overture of 1840s Georgian heritage, building to 1940s Art Deco and a 2020s modern extension finale. Original sandstone contrasts spectacularly with a glass-encased prism of modern architecture.

GGuest UserWe could not have been happier about our two day stay at the Argyle Motor Lodge in Hobart. Located about 35 minutes walk (all downhill!) from Hobart's waterfront, it has ample free car parking, big rooms and a friendly and helpful set of reception staff. There was a laundry for guest use ($7 AUS including detergent!) and our lage room had a fridge (with milk), kettle (tea and coffee provided) a hair drier, good wardrobe space, a large bed, a table for eating or working and a great bathroom with a bath and a shower. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and our room was serviced nicely too. Close by was a superb bakery serving drop dead gorgeous croissants and pastries and coffee/te which made a splendid breakfast. I jogged down to the waterfront one morning (and back, uphill). But we did have a car with us, which made moving around easier. We paid £237 for two nights bed only. A bit expensive - but not compared to other Hobart prices!

GGuest UserThe hotel room is very large, the design must be beautiful, and the breakfast is also very delicious. It's a typical American breakfast. It's very good to have a menu to order according to your taste. The house has a sofa. It's very considerate to have a waiter come to the room to open the sofa and put it on. Beautiful surroundings of the hotel

RRoam527097I checked in an hour ago and have considered checking out. Bathroom is gross - shower, grout, and toilet. If the blinds are open, it leaves you exposed to people potentially using a walking trail outside your window, but with the blinds closed the room is very dim. There is a dead bug and spider web on/around my window. Walls are marked everywhere. I can scratch 'substances' off surfaces that clearly haven't been cleaned properly. The microwave both looks and smells like a pasta sauce disaster. It should be spotless. The arm chair in the room could use a decent scrub/be replaced - its arms are black. I was paying exactly the same price for a motel in Sandy Bay earlier this week and the quality far exceeded this one. Would absolutely not stay again. Its gross. No attention to detail. Really disappointing. Really want to go back to Sandy Bay!! Phone cannot pick up the Wi-Fi network. I was given a card with the password, but not the network name? Staying for convenience only to be near my elderly parents.

GGuest UserWe stayed at the Waterfront for 21 days, using it as a base for our road trip. We had two rooms between three of us, and the budget price couldn’t be beaten for this type of accommodation. The motel is of the old style but has been maintained quite well with bright and comfortable rooms. Room facilities are good, kitchenettes with toaster, microwave, plates and cutlery, plus a communal kitchen to use. The rooms and linen were very clean. We weren’t disturbed by any noise even when the motel was fully occupied(it’s very popular). The location is excellent. There is a bus stop just down the road, the 561 and 562 buses run on the hour and get you into Hobart central in about twenty minutes. A shopping centre with a Coles and other stores is a ten minute drive away. I enjoyed my stay, the staff were so pleasant and obliging. I would thoroughly recommend this motel.

GGuest UserWe booked two nights in April. We could smell the room before the door was fully open! Body smells, dirty smells, old stained carpet smells! The furniture was ancient, worn and not clean looking. The bed cover had holes and looked like a dog blanket. It felt like a marshmallow and I didnt dare look at the mattress to check if it was clean. The carpet was badly stained all over and the bathroom needed renovating 20 years ago. We felt awkward but couldnt stay there so chatted pleasantly with reception who admitted the room did small and they had another rom with a new carpet and new mattress. The new room did not smell as bad but the carpet was stained worse than the first. The bathroom was ancient and melamine pealing and missing in parts. We simple couldnt bring ourselves to stay there and asked for a refund [eve if just for one night]. We did not get a refund and the owner stobbornly kept referring us to Booking.com for our problem. They emailed her that night and she never replied to them. Reading reviews later I saw that at some time the place was used as a *******, maybe that explains the copious stains. We ended up paying 2 nights accomodation and booked elsewhere. I telephones the owner and asked why she didnt reply to booking.com so we could get a refund, suddenly her english wasnt as good as it was when we met!! She didnt offer anything. I suggested she use our money to buy a new bedspread! My only regret was that I was so shocked by the state of the room I forgot to take pictures to share with you.

AAshley EThe hotel rooms have recently been renovated and are clean, fresh and functional. The beds are unbelievably comfortable. Despite its location above a bar, there is no noise. The staff are unbelievably accommodating, a special mention to Andrew and Peter for ensuring that we were accommodated for in every way, their service alone will give me enough to recommend this establishment to any visiting party. The hotel is well priced and exceeds all of the reasonable expectations. We will return. Thank you.

AAnonymous UserI stayed at this youth hostel in Hobart for four days to give you some reference. 1. The landlord will thoughtfully send check-in information to your email before check-in. It is very convenient to check in unattended, which is very suitable for i people. Moreover, the landlord here is Chinese and there is no language barrier. 2. This youth hostel has only 2 washing machines and 2 dryers with 41 beds. During my stay, there was only 1 washing machine (one of the washing machines was broken and the washing machine usage time was limited). Although it is not completely impossible to wash clothes, But I need to find every opportunity to do laundry. We all live in a youth hostel, so I can overcome this difficulty, and then! I found that the dryer won't dry my clothes! Because I couldn't wash my clothes, I washed them in the bathroom one day and put them in the dryer. They didn't dry for two hours. Once I put the clothes in the washing machine for washing. Time was tight. It took 30 minutes to dry two clothes, but one was not dry. Reminder: Try to bring as many sets as possible to change. If the clothes are not dry enough and will stay longer, you can hang them by the bed and dry them overnight. Also, the laundry detergent of the youth hostel is on a grid-like shelf after entering the lobby. Don’t be like me and only found the laundry detergent on the last day after staying for four days! 😭 3. The hygiene condition of the youth hostel is much better than that of many youth hostels. In particular, the bedding and towels are very clean and the sleeping environment is very comfortable. Everyone will try their best to maintain a quiet sleeping environment. The hygiene level of toilets and shower rooms is tolerable. The hall was also very clean and bright, and I personally saw that every public water cup was wiped. 4. The staff at the youth hostel were very slow in replenishing shampoo, shower gel, and hand sanitizer. I think girls use these a lot, so they should at least check whether they are sufficient every day. But the staff may only visit once every two or three days. There are two girls' bathrooms. Except for the shower gel and shampoo on the first day, there is no shampoo in the first cubicle on the second day, and there is no shower gel in the second cubicle on the third day. On the fourth day, I studied Be smart, check if both sides are there before taking a shower, and then! The first stall had nothing and the second stall had no shower gel. Moreover, the hand sanitizer in the girls' restroom has been out since the third day, and it was not replenished on the fourth day. 😓 5. In terms of safety, it is still okay. At least if you put the bag in the aisle, no one will take it at will, and the food in the refrigerator will not be taken away at will. At least my Cheerilee was safe there for three days. but! I don’t understand why there are boys in the hotel I booked in the girls’ area for two nights! Although most of them are girls, why are there one or two boys? I think this is an oversight by the hotel, but the boys didn't cause much trouble to my sleep, so I didn't complain. I hope this aspect needs to be improved. p.s. I heard other residents, girls and boys, reminding me that this is a girls’ area, but the boy didn’t know what he said and couldn’t hear clearly, so he checked in! 6. This hotel does not have a late check-out service, but Ctrip marked that you can have a late check-out at 2 o'clock in the local area and an early check-in of 4 hours (I don't know if the early check-in service exists), so I used some points to redeem the service. Later, It was time to clean at 10 o'clock in the morning. I went out to play for a while and wanted to come back and take a nap before leaving. I asked the hotel cleaning staff and they said that there was no such service and the room had been cleaned at 10 o'clock. I reported this problem to Ctrip, and Ctrip quickly handled it for me and ended the problem by compensating me part of the amount. But if you haven't gone to the airport yet, you can store your luggage in the hotel. From my current point of view, it's very safe. 7. The lobby of the youth hostel has normal sockets in Australia, and the sleeping area only has USB plugs, so you can bring a USB plug for convenient charging, which is quite fast. Also remember to bring a mouthwash cup, toothbrush, toothpaste, and slippers. Have a nice trip everyone.

GGuest UserI stayed at a Imperial backpackers two years ago and was very keen to persuade my four friends to stay with me this time. Frustratingly, a bunch of little irritating things add up to a negative review, when actually Imperial backpackers should be a great place to stay. The kitchen is great, with lots of equipment and fridges and space for your food. The hot water in the bathrooms takes a while but it’s really hot when it does come through. Beds are comfy and the room had an efficient heater. And there’s a guy called John who is so helpful – he was a guest last time. I was there, but now he works for the organisation. All in all, it should be a five star place. However, in the past couple of years, I don’t think they’ve done much maintenance In our room, the locker doors were either locked shut or couldn’t be shut (and there was no place to put the padlock that the website suggested we bring!). Our flyscreens were also badly torn, while in our friends’ room across the hall, there were gaps at bottom and top of the windows, which let in both freezing blasts of winter air, and the hideous smell of cigarette smoke from directly beneath the windows. Stuffing several towels in the gap eventually did the trick, but it shouldn’t be necessary. And there’s a bunch of inaccurate/ misleading/ dangerous signage. Firstly, there are 2 huge fire doors as you climb the stairs from the night entrance. They both have large signs saying they must be kept shut at all times (they are, after all, fire doors). But they are both left open all the time, and I was told have been for a while. On the main entrance door, opposite reception, the biggest sign says office house are 9-5.30pm (same as last time) but right below it is another sign saying office hours are 9.30-230pm This shorter opening time impacted our stay in several ways,l. With that office only open from 930 to 230pm, eerything else is “ after hours”. So, if you want to use the laundry - you pay a deposit and a per hour fee - you have to do so between 930 and 2:30 pm. If you want to leave your bags during the day, after checking out at 10 am, you can only do so till 2:30 pm. (Last time we left our bags until 5pm , when we got the Skybus to the airport(. We phoned the Imperial number, at 3pm on day 2 , to ask for a second key to our room, and we’re told that there would be an “after hours fee” of $20, even though it was still 3 pm. None of this happened on our first visit, and the website doesn’t mention that all the services mentioned are only available 5 hours/ day. So, like I said, I should be giving a great rating, but I’d go for 2 1/2 stars.

MONA
Ppxy0705Hobart's Museum of Ancient and Modern Art is a comprehensive and professional museum that introduces Tasmanian history and culture, animal and plant distribution, mineral resources and other aspects. The exhibits here are very rich, comprehensive introduction of Tasmania, whether from industrial development or the evolution of plants and animals, there are many exhibits and specimens in history, very interesting, worth a visit.
Tasman Bridge
MM22***07The Tasman Bridge connects the East and west sides of Hobart. It can be seen almost everywhere and is very eye-catching. There are pedestrians on both sides of the bridge, but I haven't tried yet. The picture overlooks the bridge from the East lookout~
Penitentiary Chapel Historic Site
陌染MMTraveling to Australia, this stop is in Hobart, the capital of Tasmania, and the historic site of Port Arthur is one of Hobart’s most famous attractions. The historic site of the Prison Church, which was previously an ancient prison building, shows the local prison environment of more than half a century ago, and the justice system in Tasmania. Visitors can see the former courtroom here, or follow the dim stairs to the cell to see the cell's environment. I took a map to visit, the map marked a lot of places, now we see only a ruin, although the court, cells and other places, but also erected a sign, you can use your fantasy to imagine the original picture at that time.
Battery Point
YYuppiJeIts a suburb of the city of Hobart, Tasmania, named after the battery of guns established in 1818 as part of Hobart coastal defences.
Sandy Bay
Ppxy0705Hobart's Sandy Bay is a very beautiful bay, this bay has a very long and soft sandy beach, the surrounding scenery is really beautiful, there will be many tourists here to enjoy the sun beach here, really very comfortable to enjoy.
Cascade Brewery Bar
陌染MMTouring Australia, this stop is coming to Hobart, the capital of Tasmania. Visit the Cascade Brewery, the oldest brewery in Australia, built in 1824 and rebuilt in 1927, because of the fire in the south, the fire to the brewery, and later rebuilt, so the castle-style brewery main entrance marked two years The current Cascade Brewery offers a variety of flavors of beer, juice drinks, and black beer made with selected wheat. There is a tour of the brewery here, but there is no weekend, I came that day is Sunday, so I can only taste the craft beer at my own expense. I am not a drinker, so I only bought a smallest cider to taste, about RMB 20 price, a glass is not big, using Tasmanian local apple juice to brew, clear and delicious, if it is hot, drink a glass of cold beer, It can be said to be a big thing. The restaurant is relatively large, one side is a counter selling a variety of craft beer, you can also order dinner or desserts, I heard that there are desserts made with beer, but I did not buy food, the other side is selling hot drinks. The side door of the restaurant pushes out is an old garden, the garden co-existed with the brewery, so it is also a historic garden with many plants planted inside, which can be said to be a mini botanical garden. There are many outdoor seats, Australians like to enjoy the sun outdoors, especially on weekends or after the afternoon shift, there will be many locals, three and three two come here to chat, this is the slow life of Australia.
Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery
陌染MMTraveling to Australia, this stop came to Hobart, the capital of Tasmania. Walking around the city center, came to this museum, which is opposite the City Hall, near the pier, there is a parking lot at the door, parking is very convenient, but there is a charge. The museum is free to visit. When you enter, there are some open-air art-shaped seats on the right, you can take a break. The front left is the locker area. All guests who come in to visit need to put their belongings in the locker. You need to prepare a 2 yuan Australian dollar coin. Open any empty cabinet, there is a small slot in the cabinet door, you can plug coins, only can put just 2 yuan size coins, and then close the cabinet door and unplug the key. When you need to advance items, plug the key in, twist the door open, The coins will be automatically spit out for you. This museum has several partitions, including the history and culture museum of the aboriginal people, the animal specimen museum, and the exquisite collection museum, art museum, cafe, rest hall and other parts. I only visited the animal specimen museum due to time problems and learned about it in Australia. Even Tasmanian-specific animals, of course, are specimens, such as the now extinct swolves, Tasmanian tigers, Tasmanian devils, various sizes of kangaroos, birds, and so on. The decoration of the zoological specimen museum is very simple, or it is deliberately made into a primitive decoration, it feels like returning to the primitive society. The lighting in the lounge is dim, but there is a kind of English-style decoration. There are always clear instructions along the road. You can look at the signs to find your favorite museum.
