A great place to stay near Light Rail, Chinatown, Central, and shopping. Our room was excellent, and we found the reception staff always welcoming and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay. It is an excellent hotel for location, for guests who may have difficulty walking up and down sloping streets, as it is in a comparably level area.
It's OK, it is passable, it does the job but is nothing special. It is in an excellent location, a few doors down from the Central station and opposite a tram stop that is highly convenient. It is a little shabby in places, cleanliness is OK. The internet did not work at all, it would never connect. Luckily I could use the free internet from the hostel next door, but only when in the room which was on that side of the building. Before arriving we wanted to change our dates and shorten our stay by one day, but they would not do it, they made us cancel our booking and make a new one, but they charged the new booking at a higher price as it was much closer to the arrival date. So, it worked out more expensive to stay for one day less.

The location was great. Pitt St is right next door, but the alley where the hotel is located is quiet. There is an Indonesian supermarket right next door that stocks some Korean products. There was a Korean staff member at the hotel, so communication was very easy, and since I arrived at 7 a.m., I needed to store my luggage, and they kindly helped me. However, you have to wait a long time at check-in/check-out time. There are a lot of people, but there are only 1-2 employees... The facilities are a bit old, but there is no problem at all with your stay. Many tools such as toasters and kitchen utensils are provided. Even a microwave.
A friend and I stayed here over the weekend for one night, before a concert in another location. We had both flown in around 2pm into SYD airport, and arrived at approx 1500H. Upon entering the property, the bottom floor smelt of a deep muskiness that was intensely strong. Check in is from 1100H. So thinking that everything would be ready by 1500H, we were unfortunately wrong. We went to our pods and the cleaner was there, doing our beds as we stood there. It was slightly uncomfortable. The pod itself was clean and spacious. They actually met out expectations from the photos. But holy hell, these pods get hot as hell. Couldn't imagine staying here in Summer. Waking up at 7am and the pod itself being over 28 degrees. With the fun on high. There needs to be a better fan system or even air-conditioning. The hotel though was beyond filthy. The stairwell was sticky, the bathrooms were not clean, and the women's toilets had the ceiling missing. Oh and fun fact. If your pod is locked and you're inside it, anyone can come up and just PUSH them open. Had it occur multiple times during our stay. So no, the pods are not secure and I believe anyone staying here should not leave any valuables inside the pods thinking they are secure. Location is ideal though. Walking distance from Central station, and tram line less than 200m away. Value for money - but NOT secure sleeping pods.

Loved Room 504. Spacious, for an inner-city hotel. Loved the lights, and how the floor light comes on when you step into the bathroom! Beautiful bathroom. Refillable toiletries. Loved the the little seat/table at the foot of the bed and the lovely mantelpiece. Love how no plastic bags are used in the wastepaper baskets. Thank you for the upgrade, bottle of wine for our anniversary and the late check-out (2.00pm!) Most generous! Delicious dinner and breakfast in Bar Morris - what a gorgeous space! Impeccable service from the wait staff - friendly and professional. A perfect staycation!

Excellent location with easy access to public transport, supermarket, restaurants etc. Apartments are spacious. Our booking was for limited housekeeping service, but even so, the staff only tidied up once in our 8 night stay. No vacuuming or cleaning of bathroom floor, only change of towels, amenities and emptying of bins.
I usually do not post reviews, but I had to this time to share my experiences.
I stayed for a total of 5 nights, Tue and check out on Sunday(7-12 Feb 2023)
Plus point
-Location is really good , plenty of thai/chinese restaurants and room is huge.
-Bed is comfortable,
-Yoshie is one that was one more friendly staff that I remembered her name , please give her a raise or wine on me.(she is a Japanese, in case i got her name wrong)
Hotel staff, is a on and off experience.
The night ones tend to be more ”cold” and the day ones are much better.( again, Yoshie was the ”better” ones, there are more, but I couldnt remember their name)
Now on to the exciting part...
Tuesday- Checkin day, A smooth day but without hand towels and when I asked for them before leaving the place for a concert.
( they claim they were in laundry or something and I find it hard to believe for a 5 star accommodation)
We were without a frying pan as well( they send it up though when i called for it)
Wed- Requested for toothbrush/Toiletries and had to request again after waiting for more than an hour, as it was forgotten ,I presumed
Thu- Requested to change towel when we went out in morning, nothing was done when we were back in evening.
I especially informed the morning reception guys to not forget it, but someone in the middle must have forgotten it.
Evening time, The staff upon informing said they will have it there in 10 mins, which they did.
By the way, the phone became faulty but I didn't bother to inform as I thought I wont have much trouble with it not in use.
I was wrong.
Friday- The express cleaning end-up with all the towels taken away and, thats it.
We found out when we were back in evening.
We were left with no towels and on top of that the phone was not working so I had to go downstairs to inform the reception/staff , on night shift i suppose.
Again they said would be there in 10 mins, which more or less they did.
Saturday- There was a huge cockroach and I had to kill it myself, informed the staff downstairs but honestly I dont expect change of room or anything, just to feedback.
From the above, you can see there were full of dramas and I think these are basic expectations.(especially the towel part)
Would I be back there if I ever go Sydney again?
Unlikely.
My recent 7-day stay. While the location of the hotel is fantastic and made our trip convenient, there were some concerns regarding cleanliness that I feel need to be addressed.
During our stay, my husband and I noticed that the cleanliness of the room, particularly the bedding, did not meet expectations. We were uncertain if the sheets were changed during our stay hence made a request at the front desk that our bedding needs to be changed. On several occasions, after returning to our room late in the evening, we found that the sheets were still dirty, which was quite disappointing.
As guests on holiday, we expected a certain level of cleanliness, particularly with something as fundamental as bed linens. Unfortunately, we were too tired to address it with the front desk at the end of long days. We ended up sleeping on just one side of the bed.
I believe that with a little more attention to detail in housekeeping, this could be an area for significant improvement. Cleanliness is one of the most basic expectations when staying at a hotel, and I hope this feedback helps ensure future guests do not encounter similar issues.

Outstanding
Great hostel in a perfect location close to everything (transports, attractions, supermarket, restaurants). The dorms are spacious with huge lockers, the beds are very confortable and give you privacy with the curtains. The kitchen / lounge / laundry area is well equiped and very nice and modern. The numbers of showers / toilets is enough for the size of the hostel. And the most important : everything is super clean and tidy ! The staff is really nice, helpful and friendly and keep the place absolutely spotless. I've rarely seen an hostel this clean, comfy and well organised! Clearly it's a great place to stay in Sydney either for a few days to visit or even for a longer stay while working. I 100% recommend the Pod Sydney !

SSheldon ChandraGreat location. Very close to Chinatown where there's plenty of food options available even late at night. Paddy's market is just 5 mins away and CBD is about 15 mins walk. Friendly people in the front office. Very attentive. Awesome housekeepers. Always smiling and greeting customers.

BBim VlogPerfect location and clean hostel. The beds are comfortable and clean. They have personal luggage storage in the shared room just bring your padlock . Toilets are great with hot and cold showers. However, they don't have bidet, so if you're someone who uses bidet, then this place is not for you. They also have a good kitchen to cook your favorite dishes. The staff are good they are friendly and accommodating. I just don't like their strict check out policy. I was at the toilet and exceeded 5min before checking out, but when I tried to open the shared room to get my luggage, I could not open it anymore they deactivated the keycard already which is really rude. Maybe you can give consideration when it comes to checkout time.
GGuest UserClean hostel with friendly staff. Rooms were spacious with large lockers for each occupant and personal plugs and bed side lights in a great position. Showers/toilets on each floor and I never had to wait to use them. Downside is that you can hear the music from their basement club even on the 6th floor until late into the night. Didn’t bother me as I was only there a few nights and I managed to get enough sleep. Kitchen is WAY too small for amount of guests in the hostel. The social events put on by the hostel were a good way to meet people as a solo female traveller.
FFelicia DevinaGood venue in heart of town. Easy access from rail and train, restaurants and supermarkets. Thank you for upgrading us to a family room! The only downside is the sockets are not well positioned for easy charging

AAnonymous UserMy family had a great time at Sydney Central Hotel.
The receptionists checked us in early and gave us a late checkout and there was a kid’s corner for my kids to play at. The room was quite retro and cozy, and the beds were very soft and comfortable to sleep in. The TV also had many nice channels that my kids enjoyed watching. Also, the breakfast was delicious and there was a fruit juice machine there. The bathtub was good. Lotion was provided. Corridor has funny smell. The Landry room was very useful.
However, the swimming pool was very small. No slippers, no water provided. Toothbrush on request.

GGuest UserWas at Maze hostel from the 13th August for about 1 month and absolutely loved my time there and was so sad to leave. Became great friends with Joni within the first few days of being there and she made me feel so comfortable to approach her with anything I needed. Thanks to all 3 event managers Joni, Matteo and Lautaro for making it so much fun every single day. I recommend this hostel to anyone while this event team is here!

TTarraleahMy second stay at this hotel, and another great experience, except that the cleanliness of the room wasn’t as good as it was for mu first visit. Rooms are spacious with large comfortable beds. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and the location is outstanding, being right next to Central Station.
