She's an old school motel... Could do with some updating... But: Bed was comfy, room was clean. Nice large room Easy check in & check out. Shower pressure was great! I would recommend asking for a room that does not have access to the street, there is no privacy if you want to open the door to let some air in or light and we were in room 12, right next to the kitchen & right next door to the Sunday morning diners having their breakfast which affected our sleep in a little bit. Didn't try their cafe as we had found Mother Duck the day before prior to check in & it was sensational, so we went back for breakfast after checking out. Hubby also loved the bakery next door and got a couple of things to take home.
We stayed at this caravan park for 6 nights with friends in our vans. This a fairly new park and is very roomy and lots of sites. The toilets are super clean, lots of hot water. The laundry offers washing machines and dryers. The sites are very easy to get into. Very kid friendly park with plenty of activities available. Staff were super friendly at the sites are very well priced. Would recommend

Top spot! Everybody talks about Goolwa but I think they should be talking about Port Elliot. We hadn’t been to the area before and were lucky to find this gem of a place to stay in an amazing location. We had a family room upstairs with a beautiful view of Horseshoe Bay. This is a nicely renovated heritage building with lovely spacious communal areas - particularly the breakfast room with morning sun and ocean views. Super well organised and well equipped kitchen with recycling best practice. Welcoming hosts, everything clean, comfy beds and can’t say enough about the 5 star views and location. This part of Port Elliot has a village atmosphere with gorgeous heritage houses and interesting shops, cafes etc so close. Also the cockle train station nearby which unfortunately wasn’t running the days we were there. Recommend the Spirit of Coorong 90 min boat trip from Goolwa to Murray mouth - for a fascinating overview of the area.
Room and bathroom were clean, bed was comfortable. It had crockery, cutlery and microwave as promised. Fridge. We only needed a place to sleep and shower. Had breakfast one morning, bowls easy to clean in bathroom hand basin, although it is small. Lots of hot water in the shower. It's well located, away from main road but convenient to Victor and Port Elliot. Good blinds and curtains to block out early morning light. Suited out purpose perfectly. Toilet paper a plenty!
The location of the hotel is good, there is a large supermarket in front of the hotel on foot. There is a pool for swimming, good service attitude, spa triple room, a large bed and a small bed are quite large.
Classic hotel in an excellent location in Victor Harbor we were very happy with our stay. We’d booked a room with air conditioning but in the event it was quite cool and we didn’t have occasion to test it. The room was spacious but quirky, with a windowless annex with a single bed in it. Soundproofing wasn’t great, hearing that conversations were going on in a neighbouring room, however the night was quiet and problem free. The Anchorage is a period hotel and there were a number of areas where updating / redecoration would be beneficial. We were not bothered by this, appreciating the “character” but it is something to be aware of. We did wonder whether its days as a hotel might be numbered because there were a number of images on display showing a large modern multi-storey block alongside the original building, probably replacing the current newer wing and the car park - but we didn’t ask so don’t know. Regardless, we would be happy to stay again and if that slightly careworn period character is OK for you then go for it. As an aside we had dinner in the attached cafe/bar at the back. Very good and definitely recommended.
Hotel location is very good, you can see the trestle. After a few minutes, the front desk was very friendly and very welcoming. The restaurant on the first floor was a good business, and it looked very lively and didn't have time to eat. The hotel is less than 10 minutes walk from the supermarket. Port Witt is a good stopover for the night before going to Kangaroo Island, and it takes 45 minutes to drive to the port. Very laid back, quiet town.
A most wonderful motel. The rooms are clean, neat and amazingly affordable. Our stay in Victor Harbor was outstanding due in large part to our stay at the Pan Co. The location is wonderful as a short walk will take you anywhere you want to go. The staff is friendly and extremely accommodating and the layout of rooms makes for a quiet and relaxing environment.
We are full time van travellers and stopped here to stock up. It was a great location and immaculately clean. The camp kitchen was well stocked with new equipment that was clean and cleaned daily. The laundry was also amazing and clean. Although we don’t have children the facilities for children of all ages looked amazing it was fun to watch them having fun. I have heard some don’t like the bird life it was lovely the local Maggie’s seemed respectful and although there was a flock of corellas they seemed to fly through about 3 pm and were only around a short time and moved on. The location of the park was brilliant a gate onto the esplanade walk and easy walk into town and the causeway. Surf beach nearby and a simple walk to the bluff For people who don’t have vans there is a wide range of accomodation from large family glamping tests complete with ac smaller units as well as all typical camp and caravan sites Staff bent over backwards to help We highly recommend this venue
