Service at reception was good. While the room was clean, the bed left a bad impression; lumpy pillows, broken zipper on pillow protector, small but obvious stain on bedsheet & spiders on pillows. There’s a few more minor defects but for the money paid, it wasn’t up to standard.
Take a look at the bathroom photos and you will know the level. The cold water pipe woman can't move, otherwise she can only take a hot shower... In addition, the water in the refrigerator at the front desk is not clearly marked, and the two waters are a cola of 13 Australian dollars. VISA also has a 1.5 fee. The debit card can't be spent for a long time. Fortunately, there are coins... Want to cross the hotel back to 50 years ago? Welcome to come here... but Ctrip customer service is really good, timely response
Excellent location right next to the Darwin International Airport.
Good, friendly staff on hand.
Late alcohol service is not available. But, they did take me in the golf cart to the bottle shop down the road to get my drinks....
Golf cart operator was nowhere to be found for my early flight, so I had to walk to the airport. Luckily it's not far....

Used Darwin Resort as our port of call while holidaying in Darwin, before road-tripping back to Alice. Found the resort to be almost ideal. It's not in Darwin City itself, which would be a problem if you don't have a car, but for those with cars, Darwin and Casurina is only about 10 - 15 minutes away, while it's also ideally situated for getting away from the city and out to Litchfield for the day. It also has quite a nice pool, and unlike many, actually has shade for it. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the restaurant is shut, but since we were on a budget holiday, that wasn't such an issue either. There were a number of takeways within a 5 minute drive, and we ended up eating at Casurina or Stokes Hill Warf anyway. Staff were professional and friendly, rooms were... well, hotel rooms. Airconditioned, clean, no noise - what more can you really say? Thoroughly recommend for families with cars.
For the price I paid I wasn't really sure what I was walking into, but I was prepared for the worst. My dad was an alcoholic, I grew up in country pubs. I'm quite comfortable with the smell of beer and cigarettes... Winnellie surprised me. Well the Sports Bar entry to check in didn't, that is straight out of the 70s/80s and is full of old men complaining about the animal they just lost a bet on. Ignore all that and check into your room, it's way better than you think! Freshly painted and refurbished. Amazing air-conditioning. Great amenities. Secure. As a woman travelling alone I felt very safe here. The bathroom is dated but who cares, clean and hot water. This room is kinda a diamond in the rough and you hotta hand it to the owners. It's tough taking on a building like this and making it attractive to modern expectations. It even has a fancy new coffee machine... that is a strong selling point. If you are sensitive to sounds bring earplugs. You will be in an industrial area and next door to an airport. No sound concerns within the building, its a reasonably quiet pub scene here. 100% recommend and would come back if I'm ever up this way again.
I loved staying here it was an absolutely beautiful Apartment.
Very clean and tidy heaps of room and so close to everything.
I definitely will be staying here when I come into town for the weekend.
Thank you ❤️
Firstly you need to understand, this is an older Motel. If this Motel were anywhere else in Australia, it would be advertised as a 'boutique' Motel. My point is, older does not mean neglected. In fact, these folks have done very well maintaining the property and rooms that - though those 70's ring loud, its quaint! Clean! Tidy! And QUIET! Oh, so quiet! Noise is one of my bugbears when I travel and it was the lure of quite that sent me here - and Paravista delivered! NO traffic noise, NO noise from other rooms, NO noise from neighbouring properties, just quite. * Rooms are sort-of updated - Beds are new and comfy, bathroom is 70's looking, but clean and serviceable. * There is no cooking facilities in the room, but there is a communal kitchen. * However, the staff more than willing to give me a Microwave for the room to compliment the Tea and Coffee making facilities. * Aircon worked well and the balcony was a nice touch. * I didn't use the pool, but it looked great! We stayed First Floor, Room 7. I lost my pic of our room, but the pics of the newer beds are standard. If I have to Motel in Darwin again, I will definitely stay here.
Yes the Capricornia Motel is a budget motel with long term guest. We finally arrived 3 am in the morning and the keys were as we were told they were be, the room itself was clean as a pin and tea, coffee and milk were ready for us. It was a nice looking room. They don't change sheets/towels everyday but if you want to have them all you have to do is ask. If you want anything all you have to do is ask. It has a communal kitchen, a large undercover entertainment/barbie area, a pool, everything is clean everyday, there is a laundry with ironing facilities. Yes it is a bit run down, and during this wet season maintenance and refit will be underway. It is dog friendly and found that all dogs were well behaved and on leashes. You don't have to walk far to public transport and for Senior Card holders, the buses no matter what day or time are free. You are a short walk from the beach, Art and History Museum, the Qantas Hanger, and the ******. What I loved the most and what made it an enjoyable time was everyone at the Capricornia were friendly, always recommending this place or that to eat, drink or to see. Many of the long term residents talk about the history of Darwin that you won't discover in any brochure or museum. They were wonderful, if you needed help they were there for you - thank you guys.
The hotel is close to the Marra Stadium and Airport. It has a free shuttle to the airport. The room was nice with comfy bed, nice TV that I watched the Collingwood versus Greater Western football game on edge as for the last nine minutes Collingwood was in front and they did not score and kept Greater Western from scoring. The bed was comfy, plenty of tea and sugar and clean bathroom. The price of $209-00 was very expensive and the breakfast also at $26-00.After check out time at 10-00 they had storage for my luggage also.
