We originally booked into the Novotel on a premium king room rate paying $319 to include breakfast. This was booked incorrectly due to some glitch in their booking system - which meant I couldn’t stay there at the time I wanted to and I was given a credit to use at another time. We used this credit last night and when checking in we were told we could park downstairs. No mention anywhere of cost. We went to our room and upon showering at around 11:30 - our shower was blocked and wouldn’t drain. We had to call front desk and at midnight nearly had to change rooms so we could shower. Came down in the mornign to have our buffet breakfast that we paid for - and we’re told that we weren’t on the list and couldn’t have breakfast without paying again. Off to reception and point out that not only did we actually already pay for breakfast in our original booking but pointed out that we have paid $319 for our room and right now on the website you can pay $310 for the same room WITH breakfast included. The manager Teresa was extremely unhelpful and told us that there’s nothing to be done about it. We would have to just wait to talk to reservation team in an hour. We decided to check out and leave. Still nothing mentioned about parking and yet when I go to exit the car park I was asked to pay $25 to validate parking! Absolutely unacceptable service. We should have been comped breakfast straight away as ANY one can see we clearly paid a rate that matches breakfast and it’s not OUR fault that Novotel lost track of it and didn’t book the follow up room properly. I travel for work multiple times a month and I will never recommend a Novotel again for either business or personal use.

I've stayed here a few times before as its convenient location to where im going. I usually stay for 12-14hrs as its an overnight stay between transit, so I've never used any facilities. The rooms are always clean & usually quiet if people are considerate & not being noisy.

Close to the airport, easy to find. Had no trouble with train noises once asleep. Room was clean as well as the bathroom. On the negative and really not that big a deal is that the undercover parking is limited and spaces not very big. Also Watch the bottom step in the dark. Miss stepped going down at 4.30am as I didn't see the bottom step and landed on my knees. Could do with a bit more lighting at the bottom of the stair.

The booked triple room has one big bed and one small bed. The rooms are small, the facilities are simple, the hygiene is average, and cockroaches are found. Public shower room and toilet are clean and easy to use. There is a big supermarket and a few small restaurants nearby, but the hiccups are early. Take care of your own breakfast, or buy the simplest bread and coffee in the hotel. The surrounding environment is ordinary, which is a motel by the road. 8-10 cars can be parked in the yard. Please ask the front desk to book a drop-off car ($ 20) at 5:40 the next morning. Because I rushed to the early flight, I made a night out.

Close to the airport and wonderful for an early morning flight, the hosts are very lovely and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable, everything was in working order. To be honest the air con was great on a hot day, and close to some to shops.

Room 13 - yea shall I say no more room 13 and it’s not great!! Bad points- No manned reception, was advised 3 hours before arrival must precheck in or will be denied a room after I fully paid for all rooms are pin only. I don’t have a problem great idea. The beds are one of the worst I’ve ever slept in. I travel to some of the worst places and there are beds better then these the main bed springs felt like they were breaking through the bed every turn was the noisiest would wake everyone in the room. The mattress felt over 30 years old worn and like you would fall through it. Great grandmas mattress is better The single bed was better but 4 people can sleep in one comfortable bed No extra pillows or blankets The floor had not been vacuumed all stuff in one area of the floor - room smelt clean (spritz spray) Dust everywhere, bugs in the room and holes in the bath towels. Mould in the shower all over the door The bathroom door had to be opened and closed with force Curtains have marks all over them not clean Aircon was particularly broken more cosmetic looks, chilled amazingly The room is right next to a main door everyone that comes in or out - slams the door all hours No soft closing hinge would be good if there was one wouldn’t be woken up with the slam every-time no Foxtel - no one made up your room like other motels the next day (no big deal just an fyi) When I arrived I had a toddler, child and 2 large bags and asked if there was lifts the staff lol and said the stairs are there and stayed sitting on the ground. I walked up the exit car park ramp with all bags and children ( no I’m not precious just not convenient) Holes in the wall in the main room near dining table Holes in walls in the bathroom Good points…. Great price Great location walking distance to Hamilton precinct IGA, Woolworths metro, lots of eateries and Eat St (amazing place of all types of food vans) Great distance walking distance to the ferries Out dates Furniture looked like it was from the 1970s (I don’t have an issue just an FYI) A little bar fridge with separate freezer was amazingly cold I wouldn’t rate this place 3.5/4 stars maybe 2.5-3 disappointed but you get what you pay for. I have some photos for proof of asked to supply .

The room was very clean and the bed in the standard room was two single beds of about 90 cm. The hotel may be an old couple. The people are very kind and kind. I booked the accommodation there because I was two big and two small on the second day of the plane. The hostess took me to the room and told me that the bed might not sleep, but if I don’t mind, she also allows me to stay. And told me that there were extra blankets and pillows that allowed us to sleep on the carpet. We left the hotel at 3:30 in the morning, so just a few people would be one night. Daddy sleeps on the carpet, but it is very comfortable and there is nothing bad. Thank you very much for the warm reception of the store. I was afraid we didn't have enough water to provide us with drinking water and sent me chocolate. Thank you very much.

Handy location, close to airport and dining options close by. Very helpful staff. Clean and comfy beds, a little dated but currently receiving a reno/facelift.

I wish I had of read these reviews prior to booking a room. I wanted something close to the airport and at last minute this was all that was left. I don't consider $148 a cheap room for 1 night, a shared backpackers room would of been cleaner. I got a text after booking and paying asking me to enter more details again including credit card, it said to upload a photo, didn't say upload your licence so therefor never sent the room code, when I rang I got a lady I could not understand who explained I didn't need to worry because I could do it at reception, when we arrived at reception the lady told me I MUST DO IT OR I CAN'T STAY!! 1hr later and 2 others in reception having the same issues we were given a room code, the room smelt like a dead wet dog, we were on ground level the curtain was see through and didn't block any of the elements out, the shower was that small you could only fit in one leg at a time.... prior to arriving I asked if they had a laundry on site I was told yes to only be told once checked in the washing machine is broken.. NEVER EVER AGAIN.

We stayed at the raceways twice recently. On our way to Norfolk Island and again on the way back. We have stayed before because it is so handy to the airport. It was a good choice again this time. The motel is a “golden chain classic “. And it is a classic. It is clean the beds are really comfortable air conditioning is good and quite and the motel is in a very quiet street. It is really close to some amazing restaurants in racecourse road and only a couple of blocks to even more in the bretts wharves area. The hosts are very nice and helpful. The room is a good size and there is a big long bench to repack bags and sort out your gear and a table and chairs. Would recommend as a good choice for a basic motel. Pool too looked good.
