Parent-child tour, booked two rooms, one is kingsize ordinary room, one is two single loft ~ loft layer height is a bit awkward, the stairs are also narrow, not suitable for children. Kingsize is very good and looks very spacious. The industrial design style is very good~ it is a member of the design hotel. Downstairs is the food street, there are many net red restaurants, I heard that the nearby albert st also has a lot of food, but there is no time to unlock... next door is the famous ”grass house” central park mall, the whole building is covered by green plants, big bus A double-decker sightseeing bus will pass through here to introduce a section. There is Ding Taifeng in the grass building, and the domestic high-end dining is quite cheap here! 30 per person per foot (Ding Taifeng of the Circular Quay Gateway is more affordable... 20 per capita, fast food in the food court...) Shopping is also very convenient, woolworth supermarkets can go shopping, there is also a row in the tide brand store. For the parent-child tour, the disadvantage is that the pool is outdoors, connected to the bar, the night blue light and the cold water temperature are really not nice...
The front desk is very welcoming and basically perfect, but because it is an apartment hotel, there is a party upstairs one night during my stay. Although the hotel has a notice and informs that a party cannot be opened at check-in, because the front desk is not 24h operating, so this can not be avoided. It's all about self-consciousness.
Great location near Central Station and good service from the friendly and helpful staff. Room was relatively small, particularly the bathroom which was a little tight, but this is no problem for a short stay. A negative though was that there was just one curtain when there should have been two, and it barely covered the window which meant being woken too early from direct sunshine streaming into the room.

The pool was underwhelming in size of the hotel. It was difficult to relax with the number of children enjoying themselves and having a good time. The location adjacent to central station allows for seamless trips into the city. Overall, I would recommend the Mercure as a “pit stop” while enjoying the city of Sydney.
Below is a screenshot and the locations we visited in one day.
The hotel location is good. It is very close to Central Station. The room was huge. But the lighting for the work desk was so dim. You may need extra concentration if you need to work. Since the room was very long, it would be a bit of distance to watch TV from the bed.
Easily accessible. Bar restaurant on site. Not very organized on the check in they have an office in the back towards the kitchens and leave with your credit card alone (it's scary at the time). But seems serious. No problem...
A friend and I stayed here for three nights and were extremely happy with the entire experience. We arrived early in the morning, with a few hours until our room was available for check in, however the staff were friendly and accommodating and allowed us to store our bags in their back room until our room was available. The room itself was simple and clean, with a small balcony access. We were seeking a stay on a tight budget, and as such we weren’t looking for a luxury hotel, so the room perfectly met our expectations. We had a twin room, with very comfortable beds and enough space for two people. If you are looking for a full hotel stay with all the bells and whistles, this isn’t the place for you, but if you are just after a comfortable, well located place to sleep, then Hacienda ticks all the boxes. It is located between a busy street and a rail line, but the rooms are well sound proofed and noise is not really an issue. On our last day, our departing flight wasn’t until late in the evening, but the staff were once again extremely accommodating and allowed us to again store our bags after checking out so that we didn’t have to lug them around for the day. Would 100% stay here again next time I’m in town, and would recommend to anyone who is in the market for a budget-friendly stay with lovely staff
Very close to Sydney University, convenient transportation and shopping, the hotel facilities are complete (with dryer/washing machine), clean, and there is cleaning service every day. We stayed for 9 days and were very comfortable and satisfied
We spent 11 nights at the Veriu and had a wonderful time. The beds are super comfortable and the sheets feel lovely and soft. The AC and WiFi worked really well. We really enjoyed having a little living room area and the convenience of a washer and dryer. The only downside is that a balcony with no furniture was pretty useless in our experience. The staff are all really friendly and the reception area is a good place to hang if you want to enjoy the happy hour. Location wise it’s brilliant. Walking distance to Chinatown but with a bus stop a short walk away to get you to Bondi or Central Station. Even around the hotel there are great restaurants in Glebe as well as a shopping mall. It really is a brilliant location as despite being close to so many things it’s a quiet street so you can get a good nights sleep. The only downside we experienced was that the people above us on floor 5 were seemingly dragging furniture around and the noise carried into our room. This was only for a few nights though. If we were coming back to Sydney we would stay here in a heartbeat. We had a really wonderful time and would recommend it to anyone.
If you're in Sydney for The Swinging Cat World Championships, this is NOT the hotel for you. Tiny (but clean and modern) rooms. The hotel exists to try and deliver a bit of value to cheapskate tourists like myself. You're right on Broadway (not to be confused with actual NYC Broadway btw (whose photos are somewhat wankily plastered all over the lobby)), so there's no excuses for not walking everywhere; and Julie on front desk may not be able to get you a bigger room but may find you one with a window (!) as she runs the place with a friendly, but ruthlessly matter-of-fact demeanour that brings to mind the (often hidden) intended benign benefits of authoritarian Facism (not that I'm a fan, mind). She's also there literally ALL the time to the point that she may in fact be an unthreatening-AI-robotic-beta concept-receptionist. You're not going to like it...but then again, you probably know that already...aaand, it's certainly better than a hostel.
