First of all, it should be mentioned that this hotel is a real eye-catcher. The location is optimal, isolated! The reception is extremely helpful with any requests (solstice bonfire, boat trip). Thank you very much for that. The rooms are very spacious, attention is paid to the little things, like the mini bishop's hat in the toothbrush glass!! Hospitality is a TOP priority here! The staff in the garden and in the restaurant, especially the men, are all great!! A consistent team that knows each other, you notice and feel that. One gentleman who was very calm and always found the right words in a highly professional, calm manner was a real positive, someone has to try and imitate that!!! The cuisine is magnificent, tradition and modernity combined, it doesn't get boring after a few days! Great enjoyment that other decorated restaurants don't offer at this level. Definitely! Big compliments to the whole kitchen!!!!!! We met the head chef personally and expressed our thanks, thank you very much for the kind words, it was a lovely chat, it was important to us to also compliment them on what goes on behind the scenes. From around 11pm you can experience a lot of peace and absolute silence (if that still exists anywhere in the world) directly by the lake or while walking along the barefoot path. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back to this wonderful place. Many thanks and best wishes to all the people who make this place what it is!!!

We wanted to stay outside the city to avoid crazy hotel prices for a short drive. NO REGRETS. This hotel was pretty perfect. The VIEW alone was worth it. We had a Mountain View, amazing breakfast buffet, friendly customer service, good prices, clean rooms, wifi, etc. If you’re staying here during the summer and are driving here, I recommend bringing a fan because there aren’t any in the room. That was my one issue. The shower is also somewhat small, but in my experience, that is normal in Europe. Overall, I would definitely come here again! This hotel is also walking distance to a grocery store, playground, bakery, etc.

This is the only negative review I am posting from our recent trip thru Austria Italy and Greece, of 8 hotels and inns. We had a 3 night stay at the Obermayer Inn, a 35 minute drive to Salzburg. The first night dinner was terrible, over salted, a mess of a presentation, meat was tough, just an overall extremely disappointing meal. The rooms were small, not a lot of space to move around, tripping over our luggage, no bar fridge, bathrooms small. Beds and bedding was very nice. Breakfasts were good, staff worked diligently to stock the buffet presentation, line up at the coffee machine, had to wait, bit of a nuisance. Third and last night we decided to give the hotel restaurant another try, unfortunately it was closed for a private event, only drinks. This was another disappointment, why couldn’t they have told us, why couldn’t they have posted notices that it would be closed? We wound up back in Salzburg, driving around looking for a suitable place to eat that wasn’t pizza or fast food. Returning to the Obermayer after a fine meal at another hotel we discovered the parking lot full and overflowing, we had to park on the shoulder of the highway 100 metres away. This private event ended after 10:00 pm and we were able to move the car into a legal parking spot on hotel property. Private event, drinks only, designated drivers, maybe, but I viewed several men leaving on their own. I believe this to be a favourite gathering place for locals, there is even a table in the dining area set aside for locals only, friendly, they smile and say hello. My brother in law who has stayed there twice before and had very nice things to say about the Obermayer, how quaint it is, Bavarian inn, now swears he will not stay there ever again. The good; the bed and bedding was very nice, the breakfast staff worked diligently, and parking was free, if you could find a parking spot.

WwuThis stay coincided with the road construction in front of the hotel, the hotel did not place relevant detour instructions, etc. The hotel rooms are small, the facilities are relatively old, and the sound insulation effect is average. It is said that the house is 700 years old.
The service attitude at the front desk of the hotel is okay, but the waiter in the restaurant has a very different attitude towards locals and Asian tourists. They have a bad attitude towards Asian tourists and are very indifferent.
