First impressions were not good - check in was supposed to be at 3pm, we arrived at 4pm and were told the room would be ready in 30-60 mins. Ok no problem, we wandered around the small town and came back an hour later but the room was still not ready and ended up sat in the lobby for half an hour doing nothing. Got much better after that though, the mountain view room had an incredible view and the room was very clean. Dinner was good with the same amazing view, breakfast had a decent selection and service was excellent throughout. The pool and spa seemed great, shame we didn't have time to use them and given that this is quite an expensive hotel, we felt pretty short changed with the late check in.

So, I took a chance and booked this hotel despite the salty reviews (proximity!) and I’m so glad I did! I don’t know what happened to those reviewers but my stay has been marked with kindness and attention. Breakfast is all fresh cappuccinos and offers to make eggs, omelettes, or sausages. Any questions I’ve had about the area have been answered with attention and kindness. Every time I enter or leave there is smile ready for me. The hotel restaurant is tasty, I ate there twice and both times I was satisfied. Also, Admont is a little sleepy so don’t underestimate the fact that the hotel restaurant is almost always open for food and beer. I’ve enjoyed my stay!

Unfortunately a disappointment. On the one hand the location. Directly in the industrial area, on the main road; behind the hotel the railway runs. On the other hand, there is only one ”computer check-in” like McDonald's. That's all worked; but wee with the room is something ”not okay”. Then no one is there; not even on the phone. The business hours of the hotline correspond to normal office times. It's just AB. In our case we had allocated room 101. There was a huge drinking machine on the wall right in front of the room, on the other side, the end of our bed was. You sleep almost - separated by a Rigips wall - right behind a refrigerator. Windows could not be opened either because you would otherwise hear the street noise in this room. Fairly, you must say that the room was clean, therefore also 2 stars instead of one. But for 116 Euros a night too expensive, because small and without breakfast. Unfortunately, here is also written the customer service ”small”. My email has not been responded. We are still check-out in the middle of the night and have moved to another hotel. 230 euros were, of course, for the tonne.
