The room smells of rotting so does the elevator. We stayed here about six years ago and it was brilliant. Not sure why the place is running downhill hope the management team see this can at least get rid of the strong odour. The staff were very friendly though.

Exactly what we expected, wonderful

Comfortable room ,seems a bit dated .Tea and coffee in room but only for one cup of tea or coffee. Shower a bit slippery. Door on room didn’t shut properly but staff gave us a free breakfast for this which we were happy to have . Breakfast was ok cheap bread ect . But we didn’t pay for it .

My experience for the first time at the Ibis hotel was completely disappointing. The cleanliness of the room such as the bed linens and shower was ok but the state of the carpets and the smell was bad. I got more of a Bed & Breakfast vibes. The fact that this is a chain hotel , I thought the standard would have been better.

Very basic, 2 teabags, only 2 very flat pillows on a double bed. Very bare with nowhere to sit and a very small tv, but clean and adequate. Didn’t try the breakfast as another £12 seemed excessive. Staff however were very pleasant and it was quiet with ample well lit car parking.

When we come back to visit friends and family, we always stay at this Ibis hotel and are never disappointed. The staff are always welcoming and nothing is ever too much trouble ie extra pillows and towels and the rooms although basic, are always clean with comfy beds and plenty of hot water. What more can you want.

We were a little worried about staying here after reading some of the reviews but we were delighted. Great reception staff - loving sitting area for meeting with friends for a coffee. Room was lovely, clean, and could not be bettered especially as needing ground floor accommodation. Very good nights sleep in a comfy bed - room a good temperature and it was quiet!! Just what we needed.

Carpet was in a real state. Would have checked out but no where else to go due to an event in the city. Bed and ensuite clean so endured the carpet although we were very unhappy about it. Seemed to be a regular complaint as both staff members to whom I complained both had the same response....'can't argue about the carpets....' I notice they use robot vacuums so corners are continually missed which added to the disgusting appearance and smell of carpet. We booked this 4 12 months in advance so hotel had notice of the event and should have placed a high priority in ensuring their paying guests were accommodated in better conditions. Staff were not rude but resigned to hearing this complaint and offered no real apology or even a complaint form to escalate to management so that perhaps one day in the future they wouldn't have to listen and respond to this particular complaint.

Don't stay here. The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful - but the building is terrible. Much in need of decoration and refitting. Had to move room as toilet wouldn't stop flushing. Toilet in changed room made a terrible noise when flushed. Carpet stained and dirty. Pub next door horrible, old fashioned, needs updating, loud music, bad food. Hotel serves pizza which was nice and feshly made, but no other option.

Stinks of cigarette smoke and disgusting view of old milk bottles out of the window. Tried to charge double what we were quoted on the website but website quote was eventually excepted. Staff friendly but accommodation is quite poor. Won’t be staying again.

Cancelled!! Booked for the Radio 2 party in the park. Booked in April.. had confirmation of booking.. then out of nowhere.. without explanation.. cancelled.. they over booked apparently.. very poor.. i guess someone paid a lot more for our booked room than we did! After seeing the reviews here i guess we dodged a bullet!!

We stayed here on Monday 31 July in two rooms. On arrival the staff member informed us they are now cashless which although wasn't an issue for us I don't quite understand why. Both of our rooms were dated and in need of a refurb. The furniture is very old, the carpet looked filthy and the shower try kept flooding. The location is good and the Phantom Winger next door was great so we chose to eat there rather than in the hotel.
