The hotel Tiferno is in an enviable position in the centre of Citta di Castello and is an old palazzo that has been converted into a luxury hotel. The bedroom was comfortable with a powerful shower in the wet room. We ate in the hotel restaurant and the food was excellent particularly the pasta course.

Beautiful place, amazing setting, and views. Pool was in shade in late afternoon when I arrived, and my son was told off for jumping into pool and a little water splashed onto a guest, whom was laying on bed right next to the pool. So I told him he wasn’t allowed to jump into the pool, which then he got upset and he didn’t want to stay at the pool anymore. I understand if you want to relax by the pool, but if you’re on a subbed right next to the pool you should expect to get splashed. The room was amazing, with amazing views. Restaurant food amazing, however it did take ages for service and the food to arrive. Think service needs to be more attentive. Breakfast not a great choice, croissants left no eggs, so I was stuck with coffee and bread, with jam. I would recommend if you don’t have kids. Reception staff were amazing.

Don't be put off by the exterior appearance of this hotel - it's a rather ugly concrete structure but we absolutely loved our 4 nights here. The staff are all fantastic, it's beautifully clean, the room was really comfortable, the garden and pool are superb and the food at the restaurant is really delicious and good value for money. It's located just on the outskirts of town but we thought the amenities available far outweighed the advantages of a location in the centre of town. We also loved the gorgeous 50m outdoor pool communal pool next door. Highly recommend.
