Beautiful peaceful and tranquil setting completely surrounded by mountains. Rooms (suites really) are vast and beautiful with window seats and floor to ceiling glass doors so you can see the mountains from your bed, plus indoor and outside showers. Toiletries provided are divine. Service is excellent. Unfortunately what lets Cederberg Ridge down are the food options. Same menu every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a daily special at each meal. This meant that choices were quite limited. Whilst elegantly presented with very fresh ingredients, we felt the dishes were over-complicated by using too many different flavours, sauces etc.

A sense of calm washes over you from the moment you arrive, absolutely gorgeous views over the mountains, the rooms are lovely with your own private patio, which is difficult to leave….but do try the activities that they lay on, nature walks, scenic drives etc….the staff are so friendly, you won’t want to leave!

Beautiful location, amazing service with a welcoming bunch of people. Great for a quiet stay in the wilderness and access to manageable mountain biking and hiking trails. Enjoyed the large rooms with spacious bathrooms and great views. The resident chef and his team used fresh ingredients daily in the meals served and we enjoyed grapes served straight from the farm on the property.

We spent several days at the Simbavati Mvumbu Cottage and the experience exceeded our wildest expectations. The accommodation is truly luxurious with spectacular game viewing (we saw all big 5 and many other animals) but the service and hospitality made the experience even better. Special thanks to our knowledgeable guide and tracker Golden and Nkosi, Benedict (who we all loved but was especially wonderful to our teenage son), and Margaret the chef who absolutely dazzled us with her meal presentation. The pictures do not capture the magic of this incredible place - just come, you won’t regret it!

Everything is perfect here, one caveat: dinner is good but not perfect. Here you should improve, considering that it is a 5 star hotel.

A lovely stay in Cederberg
This was our second time staying at Simbavati and though it certainly didn't disappoint, it also didn't surprise. The lodges are very cute and tidy but are short of a TV. The food in the restaurant is good but not excellent. The spa treatments were disappointing, especially for the price. Cederberg is for hiking/biking, more to do at the lodge would be appreciated, otherwise it's not the highest value for money. Having said all that, if you're going hiking for a (single) day and staying for a (single) night, it's probably one of the nicest lodges in the area and the staff is friendly and kind.
