We stayed for one night as our friends held their wedding there. We called ahead and were allowed to check in early so we could get ready for the big day! The hotel is great, decorated to a high standard and the rooms very comfortable. Had a Dyson fan in the room as it was the hottest day of the year! Fab shower and the toiletries provided were lovely too. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely and plenty of choice. Public car park opposite is very reasonable and only a short walk from the town centre so we had a little walk around before we left. I would recommend this hotel and wouldn’t hesitate in stopping again.

The building is beautiful, but the interior is showing the signs of wear, especially the carpets going upstairs. The rooms are smallish, dark and a bit damp. It is not possible to open the windows very much. A fan is provided, but it disrupts sleep. Reception staff were lovely and eager to assist, but seemed untrained and to have been thrown into the job. The basement breakfast area is also dark and somewhat depressing—although the staff tried to be helpful. The interior decor ranges from confused to painful. The combination of dark moss green and hospital/salmon pink throughout was made even worse by scary wall art that looked as if it was painted to cover up water damage. Multiple colour schemes in the room did not work and were unsettling. The hotel is in dire need of white paint. Lots of it. In terms of value for money, this hotel was very expensive for what it is.

The room itself was nicely presented, but unfortunately the air-conditioning was extremely loud and made it difficult to sleep. It was too warm to go without it, so overall the night’s rest wasn’t great. Service in the restaurant and cocktail bar left a lot to be desired — staff were slow and seemed disorganised. For the price we paid, I would have expected a higher standard of service. That said, the chef came over to speak with us personally, and he was excellent — friendly, attentive, and clearly cares about the guest experience. The restaurant and cocktail bar have a nice atmosphere, but it was disappointing that they couldn’t serve basic drinks like margaritas or anything with mint. For a cocktail bar, that felt a bit of a letdown.

A delightful hotel with a lovely patio and restaurant. Location is terrific.,..about a ten minute walk from the great church of St. James and minutes from the bus stop for links to Heathrow and many towns. Charmingly decorated with a friendly staff. Cirencester is too often missed by Cotswold tourists and it is a market town full of Roman history with the great Bathurst estate and its ;park minutes walk from the churchy.
