Fairfield Inn & Suites Christiansburg

Everything you want and need! Met all our expectations of a Marriott property. The only drawback is the location. Keep your eyes open if you're coming off the expressway! Turn right at the light at the corner of Roanoke St. and Tower Road. The Fairfield Inn is right behind the Homewood Suites by Hilton, but you can't see the name of the Fairfield Inn from Roanoke Street. There is another entrance on the other side of the gas station at the corner in case you miss it.

Excellent choice for our family! Newer building. Clean, well-equipped double-bed room (TV, microwave , mini-fridge, desk lamps, coat closet). Quiet area - highway noise is blocked by a steep hill. Small pool for family (was closed). Large fitness room. Coin Laundry room. Large breakfast/TV lounge. Good breakfast (not fancy) with too many items to list. Everything worked as it should!
Quality Inn Christiansburg - Blacksburg

Stayed here for one night a second time simply because, just like last time, I happened to be near this exit on the interstate when I decided to stop for the night. When I used my search engine for vacancies this night, I found this place was actually just a little less than a nearby Econolodge -- the latter chain known more for economy than quality. I had found good value at this Quality Inn the previous time I stayed here, so I decided to stay a second time. It was a good decision. Our room had a full bath (but no drain plug), phone, AC, fridge, microwave, in-room safe, desk, couch, iron & board, hair dryer, clock-radio, coffee-maker, and TV with over 100 channels. It was clean, quiet, and fairly well-maintained. Free amenities included parking, wifi, hot breakfast, and outdoor pool. Staff was polite & professional. Like almost chain lodging right on the interstate, this motel is long on value but short on warmth & charm. If you just need a place to stay for a night or two, this will meet your needs quite nicely.

Last Friday, Feb 2, 2024, we drove from FL to Blacksburg, VA, for a college tour. We got into the hotel around 11:30 pm and had to wait for someone to come to the front office for more than 10 minutes. There was no sign of ”I'll come back soon.” We checked in around 11:30 pm. and assigned us room 212. We went to our room and the beds looked like someone had just used it, the floor was not clean. When my daughter went to get into bed, she noticed that the fitted sheets had hair, and I checked the other bed, and yes, it was with hair. I turned in the light of my phone to check throughly, and also, the cover sheets and the comforter were all stained like they hadn't cleaned anything at all. I went to the front desk and explained the situation to the front desk assistant; Jenny, and she felt so bad about it and changed us to room 220. We went and changed rooms and it was worse. Room 220 has the same situation as room 212, but it also has bugs in the beds, and the curtains and all the bed sheets were stained, even with blood like colors. I called her from the room and was very disappointed. It was already 12:30 midnight. She told me that she was going to call the manager; Angela, and get back to me to see about her options since I already checked in. She tried to get ahold of her manager without success she tried a 3rd room, room 205, and this room was worse. The furniture door where the fridge is was missing. When we opened the fridge, it was with mold, a lot of debris, like it was never cleaned and an awful odor. The bed was in the same conditions as the other rooms, but the floor was with food crumbs and even a fruit bar wood stick that someone ate was thrown on the floor. Jenny was very ashamed of everything, she told me that she wasn't able to do anything more since the hotel was almost completely booked and there were no more rooms available. It was 1:15 a.m., and she tried to contact her manager again without success. I took pictures and videos of everything and sent them to Jenny. She told me that she was going to check everything herself and take her own pics and videos. She was very sorry and since she was staying the whole night until 8 am she was going to make sure that I was not going to be charged and that Angela was supposed to go to work early morning. She was going to explain the whole situation to her and also told us that there was no one from maintenance for her to send into the rooms to clean them. I had to make a reservation at the last minute to get some sleep for the college tour at 9 am. for my daughter; we were exhausted! Despite all that happens with all the rooms that they changed us too, they didn't even try to accomodate us to another same brand hotel since they were many of them around the area and I even asked for it, but the manager was unreachable and Jenny apparently was not allowed to do those types of decisions. I was able to check in at 2 am. into another hotel. I had to spend more money for a last minute booki

Started out in one room, which had stained bedding, peeling walls, bathroom fan that make a horrific noise and smelled like it was burning, stained chairs, carpet filthy along the edges, and curtain over large front window was falling out of the ceiling. Switched to another room. Peeling wallpaper in the bathroom, undermount sink not even attached to the counter, stained bedding and furniture, only outlet by the bed for charging your phone was behind the bed and the outlet was falling out of the wall, the air conditioner had no face on it, so you did not know how to program the buttons, but it didn't matter anyway, because it didn't even work. And, the security lock was busted on the door. It was a horrendous experience. Both rooms had a terrible odor. The sidewalks and balconies were broken, chipped and falling apart--definitely a tripping hazard. And the beds had plastic mattress covers under the sheets, which made it even more hot and uncomfortable without the air conditioning. We would have left, but my hubby fell asleep and it was already 1:30 AM.
