Arthur's Court Motor Lodge
4.2/528 Reviews
Sherborne Street
Nice motel, clean, kitchen with simple meals. The host girl will speak Chinese very enthusiastically and will give advice. It is that the breakfast is very simple and not so delicious. It is better to do it yourself. Free parking is available at the door of the hotel. Not far from the city, you can buy good food and drive over. #房清洁#
Novotel Christchurch Airport

Staff is very friendly and check in on counter was fairly easy. The staff saw that we had a lot of luggages and let us bring the airport trolley to our room. So the next day we just push the trolley from hotel to airport. Which is very convenient for us with many luggages. I will definitely come back this hotel again for next stay due to the location and friendly staff. Hotel buffet was good too. And nice view from the restaurant.
Christchurch City Hotel

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights just recently, first arrived at the hotel, the reception was polite enough but not as helpful as any front desk staff coud be. The room was clean and comfy, location was fantastic, environment was superb (quite, few hote guests). But somehow my wife lost her wedding ring from our room. We only noticed by the end of the day, and should have picked up earier. Mr. ************, the hotel manager, made it even worse from a travellers point of view. He has the worse attitude to the whole incident, instead of offering his empathy, he pushed responsibility back to the hotel guests who lost the wedding ring in his room at his hotel. His passive aggression is throughout all the poor google review! He reacted bluntly when questioned about CCTV other than the door access record he could provide immediately, being agreesive at his answer and attitude towards to someone who turned over the room to just look for the missing ring. He was not friendly, empathatic nor welcoming despit he is in hospitality industry. Im not blaming at anyone here or making any accusation on anyone but he as the hotel manager was the only one we could seek help for in a foreign country, and he expected us undedstanding how police and system worked here. To us, he made us sound like *****s and being forgetful on our own properties.
Racecourse Hotel and Motor Lodge

The location is a bit off, but it doesn't matter if you drive. The room was temporarily booked on Christmas afternoon. There was no one at the front desk. I made a phone call and arrived quickly. Check-in and check-out were quick. There is no stove but only a microwave, so if you want to cook by yourself, it's fine. Everything else is fine
Alpine Hotel on Riccarton
4.2/578 Reviews
Riccarton Road
We have stayed at Alpine Best Western many times this year (probably about 20 nights), the Manager was very friendly and obliging. The rooms were clean and comfortable, location perfect for us. We loved the place. However, since our last stay (3 months ago), there has been a change in management. The room rate has gone up significantly, the rooms are not as clean, the whole vibe of the place has changed, and not for the good. We will probably be looking for a different place next visit. So disappointed.
Scenic Hotel Cotswold
4/590 Reviews
Papanui Road
We were looking for a room with a bit of space to wind down from our NZ holiday, and the Royal Suite fit the bill. It is a one-bedroom apartment, with a separate bathroom and loungeroom. It felt like a place where a downsizing couple could live permanently. Yes, it was that good. The hotel is located on the fringe of the CBD, with plenty of swank restaurants and nightspots within 5 minutes by car. But our room was quiet and peaceful, at the back of the property near the outdoor pool. In short, we loved this hotel and this apartment. We will be back next time we are in Christchurch.
