Popular Chongqing 4-star Hotels

Other than the great location at jiefangbei (we even managed to take a manageable walk all the way to Hongyadong) and nearby many great food options, the interior of the rooms were slightly disappointing and looked old and run down (especially the bathrooms). There were also some stains around.

We enjoyed ourselves very much at this wonderful hotel. We reserved a suite which had an amazing balcony and view of the waterfront. The price was very reasonable and I doubt we could afford such a room in the U.S. A quick walk and we were sightseeing in an amazing city.

This hotel has definitely seen better days.. The location is a bit difficult to find but it’s very close to a subway station and the longest we had to ride in a did was about 20mins. The service was just ok. They didn’t change our towels or service our room until 5pm (even though the service cart was sitting outside of our room since morning). However when we got locked out of our room at they came quickly to help. The receptionist also responded quickly and changed rooms when we found bugs in our room. The cleanliness is questionable, first we saw roaches and bugs running around the hotel. The bottom of the pool also had some dead bugs. The rug in our first room was very dirty, we didn’t feel comfortable taking our shoes off. The R on the sign was falling off and they’re dead plants all over the hotel! Overall, I think this hotel was a lot different than pictured and it kind of turned us off from exploring it more. It definitely needs a clean up!

The good: location is perfect right in Jiefangbie. Lots of food and restaurant options downstairs and shopping malls nearby. Subway entrance is also closeby and lots of taxis available. The decent: Room is nothing to rave about, very 3 star standard. Breakfast is ok with various options. The bad: Elevators are not synced and there are insufficient elevators for the building. When waiting for an elevator, you will naturally press up/down for all the elevators on your floor. This results in every trip up/down the building taking absolutely forever because you will literally stop on every floor. An absolutely horrible experience. It took us 14 mins to go down from our floor to lobby this morning. Overall: Decent hotel in excellent location. For the price, I can't complain but we really wasted a lot of time to go up/down the building each time.

Only 5 mins away from JieFangBei and 81 haochijie (night market). Only bad thing is that the building is under construction and construction starts at 9am on weekdays. Quite a pain in the ass if you wants to sleep in. Bedsheets are not changed everyday cause I see the same red mark on the sheets from day 1-3. Shampoo/conditioner are replenish everyday. Would be nice if there is do not disturb light is lighted when the hotel card is inserted. Hotel staff knocked and tap to enter our door at 10ish (and we are in deep sleep) and asked to do room service……. Hotel also provide clothes washing and drying service but 5 pieces per room. Stunning Views Amidst Clean Comfort and a few flaw at Roosevelt. My recent stay at Roosevelt offered a mix of breathtaking scenery and comfortable accommodations, albeit with two minor flaws. Situated in the heart of the city, the hotel boasts unparalleled views of both the sparkling river and the bustling city skyline. The lobby was impeccably clean, with modern decor and well-appointed furnishings creating an inviting ambiance. However, my enthusiasm waned slightly upon noticing the state of the carpeted hallway, which appeared in need of a thorough cleaning. Despite this initial impression, the cleanliness and comfort of my room quickly restored my confidence in the hotel. The spacious accommodations were meticulously maintained, offering a serene retreat from the bustling city below. The large windows provided an uninterrupted view of the river and cityscape, allowing me to enjoy the stunning scenery from the comfort of my own space. The onsite restaurant promised a western breakfast; to be honest I had my doubts but my wonderful fiancé convinced me to book the hotel with the breakfast option included, however their idea of a western breakfast was toast, overcooked eggs, stale doughnuts and the rest you’ll refer to the pictures. While the dirty carpeted hallway was a minor disappointment, it did not detract significantly from our overall enjoyment of the hotel. With its unbeatable location, comfortable rooms, and stunning views, Roosevelt remains a top choice for travelers seeking a memorable stay in the heart of the Chongching. I would gladly return for another visit, hopeful that the cleanliness of the hallway and the breakfast matches the caliber of the rest of the hotel in the future.

Excellent location, just infront of Raffles City. When we reached the building at midnight, we were at a lost how to get up to the 38th floor. We didnt know we had to change lift on the 30th floor. Our room was on a upper level, and the hotel staff was helpful in bringing up the luggage for us. Interesting concept hotel.

A very good hotel experience. The room was also upgraded for free, the hotel's front desk service was very good, and the transportation was also very convenient. Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street, Bayi Road Food Street, and Hongyadong Internet celebrity check-in are all nearby and can be reached on foot. It is a very convenient hotel. 2128 likes

Booked a room late in pm, and arrived after a long/tiring day. Didn’t look into this hotel’s info in detail(I usually spend hrs checking all reviews/loc info…), as all I needed was to shower, rest and sleep. Upon arrival, reception was warm and welcoming and check in was swift. My room on 18th floor was an absolute dream come true! Large, airy, modern, immaculate and with a bathtub right by the window! Location is great, with lots of shops and malls around, yet pretty quiet inside. The “welcoming snacks” is a fab array of sweets/oatmeal/milk/soft drinks…not witnessed before! I wanted to order some take away and reception helped me with address info-food at my door within 20mins. They offer env friendly slippers(comfortable), even for the little ones! An excellent place to stay, very central and with lots of freebies and new ideas for guests! It’s 10/10 from me!

I was so pleasantly surprised by this hotel, we booked one night as we had an early passport appointment fairly nearby. Service was great - warm and friendly. Room was nice, spacious and shower also very roomy and perfect. The toiletries were a good brand. Very clean. Breakfast was good - lots of choice. Hotel gave us an extra breakfast for my daughter even though I’d booked one with only two breakfasts so that was a nice surprise. My children were happy - they liked the sofa bed and were very pleased with their little bags with slippers, children’s toothbrush and toy. They also provided child friendly toiletries. A plate of fruit arrived after we had checked in. But the nicest thing was the atmosphere - one of very few I’ve stayed at during my nine years in China which got it right - for once I felt comfortable and not like I am somehow in the way of the staff and they are letting me do them a favour by staying (which is usually how I am left feeling even at big brand more expensive hotels). Indeed, quite the opposite we felt welcomed and and treated warmly. Yes there was a little noise from the road but it’s only the quiet swishy wooshy noise of cars passing, I didn’t hear any horns or anything like that at all. We even talked about staying another night because we liked the hotel so much. We’ll definitely stay again if we are in Chongqing and will be recommending it to our friends in China and Chengdu.
