Although few budget hotels are permitted to accept foreign guests, the Huixianlou Hotel is an exception. This old hotel enjoys a good reputation amongst backpackers to Chongqing. The Hotel is quite close to the railway station (only 3KM), and located nearby the Liberation Monument where all the big department stores are clustered. It is easy to get here, and almost all the taxi drivers in the city know the name of this place.The hotel is currently an international 2 star hotel. Although the hotel has standard rooms which are about RMB150 each, what is really attractive are those beds in the multi-bed rooms. A bed in these rooms costs as little as RMB50 (about as low as they get in Chongqing!). The hotel restaurants offer nice Sichuan food too.Show More

I stayed in the hotel for a day and so far it’s a clean one. Check in was super fast. They have two elevators which is really good. But they have a tiny front desk. The exterior part of the hotel kinda look old but you’ll be surprised how clean it was when you reach each floor. My room was super clean, the sheets, bathroom and sink was okay. However, the shampoo and bath towel were in a small bottle. The location is very convenient but very near to the traffic noise. At night , you could hear them. So far good place and budget friendly. 😊

Although there was a power outage and signs of damage on the room's door, the stay was acceptable and in a good location. Decent.

By chance I have seen this hotel when was walking in early morning on 19th September. I was very impressed after seeing the lovely river and bridge from room 1207.Room size is also big. Then I booked it through my travel partner CTRIP for 5 days .The biggest thing is that the first ray of the sun falls on the face if the curtains are open. A big cloths wholesale market is opposite side. 2 washing machine in the hotel can use free of cost. XIAOSHIZI metro station exit 8 right side turn is 2 minute walk only. Just to hotel exit left hand side is a famous Swire foods qinyuan garden bakery shop available of tasty breads and yoghurt. I was surprised and happy when ms wang xianying sales person offered a free yoghurt. Many hotpot restaurants,various types of tasty foods and fruits are available surrounded by the hotel. Kindly keep sound proof ear cap to sleep well. Good impressions with Ms Xiao zhang,Ms yan kaising,the small sister and night security man of the hotel. I was lucky to get best price from CTRIP. For the hotel I can only advice for routine checkup for small small maintenance . Best wishes to CTRIP and Huixianlou Hotel.

The two beauties at the front desk here are very welcoming and the room is relatively clean. At this price, I’m honest, it’s really a river view room! ! !
