The bed was comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. You could tell the place was family run because of the caring attitude of their staff. The restaurant was tastefully decorated with local things. The food was good, notably the rhubarb fool. The breakfast omelette was amazing. We booked this country location to be close to Hadrian's Wall. It was lovely and perfectly quaint in the way that tourists like us were hoping. Adequate and easy parking. Cute garden and patio area. Stairs to bedrooms.

we arrived yesterday afternoon,there was not one person in the pub,the barman was talking on the phone completely ignored us ,when we asked are you serving food he said bluntly no and carried on talking as he walked away from us . we waited at the bar for him to come back but he did not returned.as our journey involved two cars and 6 people driving 110 miles each way to visit this pub as seen on the likley lads ,very very poor
