I have never been so impressed with an accommodation. We were welcomed upon arrival by Evelyn, Jost, Wame, and Mula. We felt like we were amongst friends immediately. With each amazing game drive with Jibbie, Rambo, and Phillie we fell more and more in love with Botswana. The daily meals in the dining hall are designed in such a way that fosters community and conversation amongst the travelers. This was one of our absolute highlights as we met so many fabulous people from all over the globe. The food was amazing and the excitement of game drives and the boat ride on the Chobe were the epitome of safari time. On our last day, we discovered due to an airport issue, our flight leaving Kasane had been canceled. The angels at Muchenje took us back in with their graciousness and helped alleviate an otherwise stressful time. Please tell the entire team (and John) that we appreciate your kindness and going the extra mile. You have all left us with amazing memories and friendship.

Everything about this lodge and the game drive/safari experience surpassed expectations! There were lovely surprises, our host seemed to appear everywhere! We saw an overwhelming amount of animals on games drives from land and water, beautiful sunsets and they anticipated our every need. We could not have been treated better. I can’t think of anything I’d change, what a wonderful and memorable experience!

The resort, the people and the food were absolutely magical! We were greeted by Jost and that man spoiled us. He anticipated our needs and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. The location of the resort overlooking the river and border of Namibia was fantastic. I really appreciated the gift of a reusable water bottle so that we had access to water at all times.

We just spent three nights at Muchenje. On arrival we were upgraded to the family cottage even though there were just two of us. From the comfort of the cottage to the breathtaking location with views over the Chobe River and all the wild animals roaming free all around you, to the personal attention that every guest receives from the staff, to the professional and knowledgeable safari guides (thank you, Philly!), to the fabulous food and drinks, our experience could not have been better.

From start to finish the team at Muchenje Safari Lodge could not have done more for us. My husband and I travelled with a dear friend and together we have a fair degree of safari experience but we still saw different sights, animals, birds and all against the most beautiful backdrop of the Chobe river. Thanks go to Tips who shared his knowledge and made our time with him very special. Accommodation was of a high standard with very welcome A/C, the food was delicious and plentiful both in the restaurant and on the drives and boat trip. The planning that goes on behind the scenes to make this inclusive package work is truly impressive, special thanks to Jost and Wame and the while team.

We stayed four nights and loved every minute of it. We went on as many game drives as we could. The quantity of animals in Chobe was mind blowing and truly a memorable. Muchenje offers a friendly family like experience and we were made very welcome by Kitty, Toff and Wame. Meals are served on a communal basis with all residents sitting at a long table with management and Rangers. Accommodation is individual bungalows, ours was on the edge of the escarpment with a view over the plain below. Nicely equipped, big comfortable bed . Our Ranger was Lips. His knowledge of the animals and bird life was superb and he has the best eyesight of anyone I know. Would we stay again? You bet we would.

Our stay at Muchenje was made memorable by the very friendly welcome we received and also by the excellent birding walk we were taken on by Stone Muzila. Stone not only has a remarkable ear and very keen eyesight but also an extraordinary bird knowledge and a natural way with people which makes the walk a particularly memorable and fun experience. I could not recommend it highly enough and I would definitely hope to repeat the experience one day. Anthony M

Spent 4 nights at the fine establishment. Superb views from room balcony and many other viewpoints at the lodge. Very welcoming staff and management. Fine pool. Very good food. Room extremely comfortable and contrary to a few reviews....IS spacious. Additional benefit of a/c. Drives were very good. Drive and boat trip/picnic on the boat on the river edge is a marvellous experience. Elephants abound...hippos and crocs grand to see at close quarters. WE saw lots of animals but do wonder re' animal viewing when trees/bushes are fully in leaf? It is well worth visiting Botswana due to the terrain being so different...Delighted to have chosen such a grand place.....delighted with the experience but once was enough....other than for elephants we would opt for either Tanzania or a private concession in South Africa. That is NOT to take away from Botswana or Muchenje....For something different it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED....Especially for elephants.

As a first timer to Botswana this was the best way to start by staying at Muchenje Safari Lodge. The atmosphere of the whole place is fantastic, from the accommodation, the views, the game drives and last but not least the hospitality from Toff, Kitty and Wame and all the attentive staff. Hats off to Lips our guide who was terrific. I will be going back!!
