Residenza Dei Ricci

We had a wonderful stopover in Chiusi, a nice little village, 2 hours from Rome. The room was beautiful, spotless clean. The owner recommended a very good restaurant. The car could be parked on the premises. Breakfast was excellent, everything was homemade.

Owner spoke some english, he was able to help us get reservations at a local tuscan winery and then dinner as well. He went above and beyond my expectations. Room was very good and breakfast was best in Italy.

Thank you Donatella and Raffaele for a wonderful stay we will never forget. So full of warm hospitality in your amazing residence historic residence. We really appreciated the extra lengths you went to make our stay so relaxing. I look forward to showing our friends your beautiful breakfast spread. I hope we have the chance to return.

 ONE OF A KIND HOSTS IN JEWEL OF A GUEST HOUSE The hospitality and kindness of Donatella and Raphael has no limit. Every need of guests are handled with ease, special requests quickly satisfied. All of it comes so naturally to these consummate hosts. A ride to the train station, suggestion for a wine tour, a recommendation for a special restaurant made our stay a memorable experience. These are truly beautiful people who provide a memories not just a room for sleeping. Five star service! The historic guest house is as special as are the hosts. Every sleeping room, the lobby, sitting and breakfast rooms are appointed with wonderfully presented antiques. Bistro tables in the garden are an outdoor alternative for enjoying Donatella’s breakfast pastries prepared daily. A trained pastry chef her delights call for second helpings. Walking in the gardens cause guests to decompress. This is a peaceful and unrushed retreat located within steps of Chiusi’s primary attractions. We were extremely fortunate to have stayed for 3 nights in May at Mr. Ricci and his wife, Donatella B and B . Both were extremely gracious host , who could not do enough to make sure your stay was a pleasant experience. Many other guests have raved about how wonderful a pastry chef Donatella is , is is an understatement. We where fortunate to have Donatella give us a pasta cooking class, so enjoyable and our lunch which followed was delicious. Their home becomes your home as they truly treat you as one of the family . We have stayed in several excellent hotels in Italy, but none of them can compare to the intimate experience staying at Mr . Ricci home . Chiusi is an excellent to explore many of the wineries and wonderful towns nearby . I have already recommended them to my friends . John and Celia . Toronto , Canada

This is a wonderful place to stay in Tuscany. It is like living with an Italian family during your stay. The owners are a kind and generous family and the accomodations are lovely and sparkling clean. The breakfast is unsurpassable with home baked pastries and cakes made by the pastry chef, Donatella. Her cooking class, with her daughter, Julia is such a fun activity and dining on these creations, after, is a culinary experience. Go visit this wonderful family!

This historic palace, with exquisite decor, is a joy in the center of Chiusi, the epicenter of the Etruscan civilization. Wonderful serenity, air conditioning that is the real deal, beautiful gardens and hosts, Donatella and Rafaelle, who define the word gracious. And as an added touch, Donatella makes her own cornetti for breakfast!!

We stayed for 2 nights and had the place to ourselves. It is right in the heart of Chiusi. Donatella and Raffaele were excellent hosts. Donatella provided an excellent very good value Pasta cooking class. We made pasta for Ravioli and Tagliatelle. We were then treated to dinner of the things we had made which was included as part of the course. It also included typical local antipasti and a home made tiramisu that Donatella had made. For 49 euro each it was excellent value. They were both very attentive. Breakfast was very good too with lots of home made sweets and cakes. Donatella is a pastry chef and obviously enjoys making things for her guests. The room we had was clean and had a roll top bath although using the shower was slightly cumbersome. Overall an excellent stay.

This B&B in the heart of old town Chiusi Italy at the top of the hill is a wonderful place to stay. The owners are fantastic, the facility is clean and lovely, rooms are big and the morning breakfast is filled with fresh 'goodies' from his wife who is an excellent baker and cook. After a long day of sightseeing they had a nice cold bottle of white wine for us to purchase and enjoy in their lovely living room which is for guests. Enjoy Italy and enjoy Residenza Dei Ricci..
