Residenza Dei Ricci

I spent 8 nights at Residenza Dei Ricci and it was truly one of the best experiences I have had travelling. Donatello and Raffaele were such gracious hosts and really went above and beyond to make my stay special. My room was spacious, beautifully decorated and clean. The bed was so comfortable and the linens luxurious. Donatella is an incredible chef and breakfast was not only a treat for the eyes, but the variety of baked goods was outstanding. There was also a choice of meats, cheese, fruit and bread as well as savoury mini quiches. Juice, cereals and for those with gluten intolerance there was a selection to choose from. I did not go away hungry or wanting more. I did a cooking class with Donatella one afternoon. She was patient and shared her secrets for making the best fresh made pasta dough. We made ravioli, tagliatelle and topped off the experience making tiramisu. All of which I got to enjoy for dinner that evening! Residenza Dei Ricci is located a short walking distance to many restaurants and a fantastic coffee shop. There is also a beautiful garden to enjoy and they truly made me feel welcomed to make myself at home. I truly did feel at home and was sad to leave, but I look forward to returning to this gem and Chiusi.

The owners are very friendly and nice people. Great location but Chiusi is small. Large and quiet room with minibar. Good shower, spacious. Unstable Wi-Fi, comes and goes. The room on the top floor was like this. Downstairs at the reception and breakfast seemed better. Good breakfast with lots of sweets, but also unsweetened yogurt, nuts and cold cuts. There was a lack of fresh fruit and more of the savory part. Difficulty: Stairs to get to the room: 2 floors. The owners give out several keys, and the one that opened the door that gives access to 2 rooms was difficult to open and made me give up going out at night. They had already warned me and I advise anyone who goes to ask to be shown what it's like in person. Price a little expensive for what it offers: I've stayed in good hotels in Italy with all the comforts for less. But there aren't many accommodation options in Chiusi and this B&B is of above average quality. The service provided by the owners is the highlight, they are very attentive and very helpfu

Our family had the best experience from the moment we arrived. The charming town combined with the exceptional host made for a FABULOUS STAY! Our cooking class with the host Donatella and Raffaele was a remarkable evening! The dinner was our favorite meal of our trip! We highly recommend this beautiful residence in the heart of Chiusi.

Everything about Residenza Del Ricci was exceptional. It was clean, stylish, roomy with excellent service.Raffaele and Donatella are wonderful hosts. Raffaele greeted us upon arrival as if we were family and took us to some amazing local restaurants. We also took Donatella’s pastry class which was very enjoyable … we made more sweets than expected and she was so knowable and was happy to share her recipes with us .  ONE OF A KIND HOSTS IN JEWEL OF A GUEST HOUSE The hospitality and kindness of Donatella and Raphael has no limit. Every need of guests are handled with ease, special requests quickly satisfied. All of it comes so naturally to these consummate hosts. A ride to the train station, suggestion for a wine tour, a recommendation for a special restaurant made our stay a memorable experience. These are truly beautiful people who provide a memories not just a room for sleeping. Five star service! The historic guest house is as special as are the hosts. Every sleeping room, the lobby, sitting and breakfast rooms are appointed with wonderfully presented antiques. Bistro tables in the garden are an outdoor alternative for enjoying Donatella’s breakfast pastries prepared daily. A trained pastry chef her delights call for second helpings. Walking in the gardens cause guests to decompress. This is a peaceful and unrushed retreat located within steps of Chiusi’s primary attractions. If planning on overnighting in Chiusi do not miss the very special Resedenza Dei Ricci. We have committed to return next year. Charlie and Diane Messina

We were extremely fortunate to have stayed for 3 nights in May at Mr. Ricci and his wife, Donatella B and B . Both were extremely gracious host , who could not do enough to make sure your stay was a pleasant experience. Many other guests have raved about how wonderful a pastry chef Donatella is , is is an understatement. We where fortunate to have Donatella give us a pasta cooking class, so enjoyable and our lunch which followed was delicious. Their home becomes your home as they truly treat you as one of the family . We have stayed in several excellent hotels in Italy, but none of them can compare to the intimate experience staying at Mr . Ricci home . Chiusi is an excellent to explore many of the wineries and wonderful towns nearby . I have already recommended them to my friends . John and Celia . Toronto , Canada
