We stayed here a few years ago and enjoyed it but since that time this place has had a major overhaul. Obviously there has been a very big financial investment that has been spent very well. Our room was very nicely furnished and a very good size. The double bed was very comfortable and about 6 foot. Tea and coffee making fasciitis were in the room. In fact the room had an espresso coffee maker, very nice. We also had a balcony that overlooked the common. The bathroom was large with a roll top bath, large rainwater shower and double sinks. I would rate this as one of the best B&B rooms we have stayed at. We had an evening meal in the restaurant which was also very tastefully furnished and decorated. The meal was excellent and I honestly couldn’t fault it. We also found the staff very helpful. The breakfast menu was extensive and d probably one of the best breakfast I’ve had anywhere. We will definitely be returning here. I can highly recommend this venue. It’s also well placed to get a train from Chislehurst rail station into London.

My husband and I used the Crown Inn for our post wedding celebrations. I got ready in their room the night before and it was a decent sized space to get ready in. The Manager Abbie was exceptional. We had some last minute changes to make due to drop outs and she was responsive and accommodating. All our guests were commenting on how lovely the staff were and that the food was tasty. Brunch was excellent in the morning too. In the nice weather, their outdoor area is a lovely spot too, which is where we ended our celebrations until the bar closed. Thanks to all the team and Abbie in making our day special. We will be back!

I stayed in a boutique room and had a private balcony looking over the common. The shower was great and toiletries were great. I was there for a friend’s wedding and I would like to recognise how great the staff were. Friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them. Abi was particularly good. She was clearly in control of the whole experience and was responsive to all of our last minute requests. It seemed that nothing was too much trouble for her so thanks very much for that. I would definitely stay here again. 🙂

Clearly someone has invested in this place, rooms are large and furnished to a height standard, en-suite was great with excellent water pressure. For the price given the area very good. Evening meal overall good, service slow and confused drinks arrived long after starters. Fish platter which should have had half a pint of shelled prawns we got 6 small shrimp in shells cover in sauce, so no way of eating them. Very slow took around 3 hours in total. Morning woken up really early by loud music being played downstairs by staff! Breakfast was a disaster, no cereal no buffet, no juice, no fruit, no pastries. Waits 45 minutes to get cold food, solid poached eggs. Porridge like concrete. Cold and congealed, no honey maple syrup instead. A few blueberries no fruit compote, no granola or pumpkin seeds. Complained as we had to leave all of it no real apology one lady said sorry the older one stood shaking her head. I run a guest house for over 20 years and expect a better than this. Staff need training.

We booked into the crown as we were attending a 100th birthday nearby. The staff were friendly and professional. The manager was exceptionally helpful, and despite being extremely busy, he took the time to arrange transport for us. The room was clean and of a high standard. We enjoyed our stay, and would highly recommend this hotel.

I understand the hotel has recently been renovated and it has been done very well. We stayed in a small boutique room at the back of the hotel and as such, couldn't hear any noise from downstairs at all. The room was well furnished and the bathroom especially is lovely. We really enjoyed the breakfast, a very good choice given there are only seven rooms and very well cooked on both mornings. There are only 4 spaces for parking but there seemed to be plenty of on road parking. Chislehurst is a very nice area with a few restaurants within walking distance and we especially enjoyed The Cockpit micro pub on the next road. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again if in the area

As good a pub/small hotel experience as i have had. Room was super comfortable and beautifully furnished. Setting overlooking the village green is attractive. Breakfast this morning in the lovely dining room was very, very good. A quality refurbishment and great service/staff. Value.

A lovely pub with rooms. The rooms are decorated to a really high standard and were good value for the area. The bedding is high quality and the rooms were laid out nicely. We stayed in one of the boutique rooms right above the pub. In the rooms, there were 2 little sources of frustration: the duvet was very thick for the summer - I’d think it was 13.5 tog and no sheets were provided for those who didn’t want a thick duvet and the fan provided was a large industrial one that was too noisy and powerful to sleep with. Not a major thing but if you prefer your room cool, it’s annoying. However breakfast was very poor considering the quality of the pub. Scrambled egg on toast - the toast was burnt and the eggs were overcooked. Scrambled eggs should be smooth and silky not hard and dry. The chef just has the pan too hot and they overcooked quickly However, the English Breakfast was just plain cold. Not a single item was hot! Which I assume means the items had just been kept warm. I’m sorry but there is no excuse for serving cold items! And to have everything from sausage to rosti to beans as lukewarm as best is poor. Quality of items were good but just bad control of temperatures! The chef seemed too busy being cocky with the waiting staff, I just wished he’d spent more time heating the food properly. And no teaspoons served with hot drinks which makes it very hard to stir milk into tea - another silly mistake that shouldn’t have been made! The Breakfast let down a good stay unfortunately

First time at The Crown since its refurbishment, we called in for Lunch today and had a lovely meal in the new light and bright restaurant. The food was good and plentiful ( we had the burger and chips today and a dessert) it was nice to see the restaurant busy even though it was midweek. We will certainly call in again. What would be nice to see would be a fish starter eg Smoked Salmon or a seafood cocktail of some kind. We could not find a starter that we would have liked but that it a matter of taste and everyone is different. The staff made us very welcome. Well done to everyone especially behind the scenes in the kitchen.
