definitely will not return, very disappointed, dreadful room layout, open the shower door and it knocks into the bed, not clean apart from the bed linen which was lovely

Despite all the low reviews, I gave this hotel a chance. The main complaint about the hotel is the noise level for the live music nights. Your staying at a pub, if you expect silence then you may need to rethink some things as there will be noise at any hotel that is on-top of a pub and it is your fault for booking not considering this. It’s saddening to see so many reviews be low due to the noise, but praise the staff and comfort. It is not the hotels fault you booked not considering the noise levels in every pub. The rooms were clean, cosy and the bed was comfy. There was a mini fridge, kettle, tea and biscuits along with a fan. Breakfast facilities consisted of mini cereal and some bread to toast, while I would of loved some hot food or pastries, there are only a few rooms so I completely understand as there would likely be a high turnover of wasted food. As we were located nicely on the high street, we popped next door to a lovely little café for breakfast.

Only scored one out five because zero is not allowed. Awful film start to finish. Filthy, noisy, not pleasant in any way shape or form. So many better places nearby to stay in. Only tip I would give is never ever visit this hotel even if you’re desperate.

I had been told about the live music on Friday and Saturday night but nothing prepared me for the level of noise. Basically the hotel turns into a nightclub for screaming drunk teenagers with lots of bouncers as well. Loud throbbing dance music from 8pm till 1.30am and lights from the courtyard filling your room. The only way to sleep was earplugs and an eye mask and even then it was difficult. The staff were really nice and friendly however

Where do I start? Friday night loud disco until 1am just below my room, windows old and broken, TV didn’t work tried several different ways to fix, no telephone in room to ring reception….no reception in fact just a bar. Shower room dirty and unkept, beds uncomfortable. I was told to come down in the morning to help myself to breakfast, I went down at 7.30am as I had to leave for work purposes no food or nobody there. All the empty glasses from the night before all left on the bar. No tissue in main toilets. I left with minimal sleep and no breakfast which I had paid for. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anybody, stay clear!

AVOID at all costs !!! Honestly the worst hotel stay I have ever had in my life… Rotten and smelly room, clearly lacked any basic standard of cleanliness Even the bar downstairs appears to be the local dive ? Only positive would be at least the bed was very comfy.

Great location but the noise levels from the music are ridiculously unacceptably If I had ready the reviews prior to booking I definitely wouldn’t have stayed here Be warned if you want to sleep then this isn’t the place for you and it’s more like a disco than a hotel!

This has to be one of the worst hotels I have stayed in, the window was wedged open with a 2ft piece of wood, which I removed and the window slammed shut and I was unable to open it again which was probably just as well as we retired to bed around 10pm when the music started and what sounded like a party going on below our bedroom window, the noise was horrendous and sleep was impossible, it was 12.50 when I finally managed to drop off although the noise and music continued. The beds were lumpy and uncomfortable and the bathroom was tiny with a wet room shower that was like something out of the ark. In the morning the condensation on the old dilapidated windows were soaking, not sure what they did at the refit in 2017 but certainly did not replace the windows

I would strongly suggest avoiding this hotel at all costs unless you are desperate. On arrival, we were only warned of the late night disco by a staff member on signing in. The disco was on Saturday and started at 9pm and finished at 1am. The lights in the courtyard are very bright and bedroom 4's window was lit up like it was daylight. The noise was unbearable. We asked for a cup of tea in the bar as there was only 1 mug in the room when we arrived. The bar man did not have any teabags it would appear, until a man said he had a catering pack of Tetleys in the back of his van. We also had to ask for another toilet roll for the room as the only one provided was around 3/4 empty. The sash window in bedroom 4 was broken, held up by a block of wood, if you wanted to open it for ventilation. I think that this is a health and safety hazard personally. The room for breakfast could only be found after the cleaning lady downstairs had to ring someone on her mobile for advice as she did not know where it was. There is no food available on site apart from a miserable 'continental breakfast' which is basically mothers pride white bread in a packet, a toaster, and mini cereals. A fridge holds only cows milk, some butter in a tub and individual marmalades/jams. To make a drink for breakfast head back to your room with the kettle and fill it up from your own basin tap, before returning again to the breakfast room. Also remember to bring your mugs from your room with you. The crockery was dirty as was some of the cutlery. Beds in room 4 had clean sheets but the sheets were straight onto the mattress with no mattress protectors. The beds were uncomfortable to say the least. The bathroom is a wet room with a glass shower door giving straight onto the bedroom- allowing the other occupant of the room to see someone sitting on the toilet. The shower floor area was stained and there was dirt in the corners by the toilet. The toilet area gets soaked as soon as you use the shower.
