Stayed here twice before and it was all great tbf but a very different story this time unfortunately. They lacked staff, so the service was excruciatingly slow and was surly when we did eventually get served. (Amy was good but lacked knowledge tbf). We were offered a refund for the dinner and the breakfast ( there was nothing cooked) but have not received this.

Absolutely terrible. All of the machines in reception were broken. Staff did not care about issues. More than half the menu for dinner was unavailable. No chef turned up.in the morning so no breakfast provided except some very stale pastries and cereal with no milk. Coffee machine had no milk. Staff shrugged shoulders and were unbothered.

We stayed here for a long weekend, 8 - 11 August. We had booked the meal deal for our stay but only 2 mornings had hot breakfasts available and we could only have one evening meal as the restaurant was closed as the main member of staff who was often the only one there said the chef wasn't working on those dates. We did get a refund, which was dealt with quickly. The staff who were there were always as helpful as they could be, but they were simply very short staffed, especially considering it was the peak of the holiday season. The car park was spacious and we had to pay but didn't mind as it wasn't too expensive. The room was great and we were pleased it had air conditioning as the weather was very warm if not hot during our stay. It wasn't far to walk into town, and it was also easy for us to drive to various attractions. If anyone from Premier Inn reads this review and others on this site, please can you sort out the staffing issues as it did make our stay less enjoyable than it might have been.

Accessible room on second floor was fine. Clean and air con working. £3 per day for fast WiFi which you can use on 3 devices. Restaurant was a shambles. Staff doing 4 peoples jobs. Cold food. Half the menu unavailable. Hour wait for starter with only 3 other tables occupied. Area manager needs to go and do a shift and see how they have to work. Always use premier inn all over uk but unfortunately will not come here again.

Disappointed to say the least. I’ve stayed in many premier Inn’s, and always being pleasantly surprised by the cost, service and quality of the hotel. I was left unsatisfied by the lack of welcome and staff attention at this hotel. When we arrived there was no one at the check in desk, the self check out machines were both out of order. Eventually when we were able to get the attention of a member of staff he lacked any essential customer service skills required to meet and greet customers. The free water was empty, unhelpful being a really warm day. There was no bar which I found strange but plenty of alcohol, almost looked like self service and had I been rude enough I probably could have served myself as there was no one else around that seemed to want to serve me, but I didn’t and eventually got served a warm bottle of peroni, delish. The rooms were fine didn’t have any complaints about those except the air conditioning didn’t seem to be fully operational but I am willing to overlook this. As a family we didn’t feel like we could go back to the hotel after our even meal for a drink because we almost felt uncomfortable like we were a burden to the staff. I will be contacting premier inn directly because I am disappointed and I don’t want other customers to feel the way I did.

The Premier Inn that they seem to forget they own.. Last time we were here was two years ago and it definitely changed. To be honest, you kind of know what you expect when you've booked a premier inn - and I've been to many over the country this is probably the most tired one I've ever been in. Recently visited lovely one in Cheltenham, Durham and two in London so I know the normal standards. However let's give it some positive first. The positives are that it's a very close distance to town and it has a large car park and the bed is super comfortable ! The negatives and they were a few, first one car park you have to pay for. Only an issue because it's free parking in most towns in Oxfordshire so if you're willing to walk from town, you can get it for free. But it is only £4.50 ! The other - very tired outside needs a good clean, inside their signs everywhere to tell you that there was no hot breakfast and restaurant was closed. Machines weren't working and the one person working reception looked pretty annoyed that he had to check us in. I'm local and we stayed because we're visiting friends for a party ( limited taxis) and I promise it's not the welcoming you normally get in this part of the world. Oh I forgot the other positive was a bathroom was spotlessly clean . However cleaning want great else where and carpets were full of stains. The carpets outside were also stained and basically the whole place smell a bit musty and tired. The biggest issue for our room was that the windows don't open and the Aircon was broken. It was either freezing cold or not on at all and when it was on it sounded like a bath was being constantly emptied. It woke us up several times in the night. Free WiFi was shocking never got it to work and premier inn need to work on getting paid WiFi easier without giving your life details away ! As I said a quick overnight visit for a party, but I've had a booked here for a week or even a long weekend to visit the area, I would be very disappointed. It's such a shame because chippy is a lovely town and great local area and it's in a prime location. It could be so much better.

Very few staff, cold breakfast, not open for dinner, broken air con, no hot water in bathroom tap, corridors have a very strange odour! Don’t bother!

The staff were extremely helpful but it went downhill after that. The express check in wasn’t working, the restaurant was closed, our duvet cover was badly marked and when we took it off, as it was too hot for a duvet, the duvet was covered in horrible large stains, there were marks on the small towel and the curtain was hanging off at one end. There was only one bath towel and one hand towel
