Premier Inn Wirral (Childer Thornton)

The service at the restaurant was really appalling - it took ages just to get a few basic drinks (when there were no other customers), the meals came out at at very separate times (at least 45mins after I had finished my meal, my family got theirs), and when it finally came, the food was tepid/cold, unpleasant, and not worth the wait, and some bits of the meal were missed out. As someone who has been to many Premier Inns across the country, this was the worst. The waiters were nice and well mannered though.

Shocking. Poor customer service. Half our party got their meals after 1 hour and 40 minutes and the rest of us had to wait an extra 40 minutes. Took 20 minutes of waiting at the bar to get a drink even though there’s was only 8 other people in the building.

Receptionists (x2) kept us waiting for 2-3 mins without looking up. Room was fine but bar, advertised as open at 6pm (despite "Happy hour also advertised as 5-7pm!) was unstaffed when we wandered around it at 6:15 trying to find staff. We kept having to wait up to 15 mins for bar staff, for over-priced drinks. Food was of a really poor standard, took 1hr 30mins for some dishes to be served, with starters served after the mains had been finished and dishes & glasses not cleared. No apologies, no acceptance of any issue, and subsequently no chance of us returning. 22 of us, with a bill of around £800!

Fabulous staff and lovely hotel, very comfortable and clean. Staff are so helpful. Location is great and the management run the place very well. No complaints from us.we would recommend this hotel and will definitely return for another visit.

We arrived to a very frosty welcome from the receptionist, who was very snappy with me and to be honest downright rude. Anyway, breakfast booked (eventually) and we headed to the room. The room itself was huge but absolutely freezing. Yes I could have gone to reception for help but with the frosty reception I had received already, I got the impression she wouldn’t care. Breakfast the next day was not self service. Fair enough as you still got what you wanted. However, it took ages to come up as there were only two people running front of house. When the orders did come up, my wife’s was incorrect. It was rectified quickly but had it been self service this would never have happened! If you want a mediocre stay and service, then stay here. If you want better, find another Premier Inn as there are much better out there!

A very grim dingy approach, around the rear of the property. Pleasant welcome at reception. Room was cold initially,dark room , despite the reasonable sized window , overlooking a fence ! Tired decor.Bed was smaller than we've come to experience in other premier inns.Exceptionally noisy from room above .Could hear every footstep! Opted for meal deal ...restaurant was literally like the Mary celeste .No sign of absolutely anyone !!! Till a very pleasant young girl appeared. Who was very polite etc.Food was delicious. Was disappointed with pancakes dessert for some strange reason was served COLD! Definitely , originally from breakfast menu including the berries !! Bizarre! However we enjoyed our meal as were hubgry .The breakfast buffet was disappointing ...eggs were clearly on heat tray much longer than is regulated to be as we're the black pudding which was rock hard and dried and stuck on the heat tray !! Wasn't really edible .Left a limited amount of the food one could eat !Again no one attending the food. It's a hotel with great amenities open to them, looking for the size of the property. Yet, it needs a serious revamp. All staff we did come across were very welcoming, when we actually encountered one .Would of expressed our thoughts to one , on check out , however , like going for both the meal and breakfast we didn't see one! No one at reception when leaving. No one at the desk at both meal or breakfast, to meet snd greet . I suspect, the hotel is run on very tight shoestring budget .Quite not the usual Premier inn standard .
