Kashiwaya

I stayed here as a solo traveler. This is an old-fashioned hot spring inn with a Showa era feel. There are two bathrooms: an indoor bath located one flight of stairs down, and an indoor bath and an open-air bath located on the 5th floor, which is accessed by an old-fashioned elevator. It seems that the hot springs come from the Kamiyamada Onsen Company, but the hot springs are alkaline simple sulfur hot springs that flow directly from the source and are very pleasant. When I put it in my mouth, I felt a slight sweetness, and it was smooth and delicious with a slight sulfur smell. It was refreshing to take a long bath in the lukewarm semi-open-air bath, blown by the wind. I stayed at Kamiyamada Onsen a long time ago on a group trip, and I could feel the nostalgia of the Showa era even from the neon alleys.
