I am a neighbour to this hotel and I have never experienced such rude, stuck up and unpleasant behaviour from the owner. Stay away from this place unless if you want to be met with a rude awakening from the hotel owner / manager. I would not recommend living next to it let alone staying.

The location is good just off the centre, very quiet and within a short distance of a main car park, but this isn't really a hotel, its an average B&B that is looking a bit tired and dated. The building is lovely but it could do with a new lease of life to bring it up to the today's standards, particularly given the price of our room. We would look elsewhere next time we visit Chichester.

A lovely boutique hotel just 5 minutes walk from the Cathedral and City centre, but in a quiet back street away from what passes as city centre noise in Chichester. The rooms we had were clean, well furnished and comfortable, guaranteeing a good night's sleep. Breakfast was fantastic, cooked to order by the owners and really good quality. The breakfast room has a great vibe to it and in the summer there's a terrace you can sit out on too. Finally, and this is important given a couple of reviews I've seen, the owners are lovely. They looked after us really well, and I would have no hesitation in going back and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the lovely city of Chichester.

Lovely small hotel in the centre of Chichester . We stayed one night as we were going to the theatre which is a short walk away. The rooms were very well decorated , very comfortable and very clean with amenities. WiFi is very good. Staff were very welcoming and helpful . There is also a lovely garden area where you can eat outside. The breakfast was excellent with many choices and catered for all diets . It is a charming hotel and we would recommend it. We will certainly book it for our next trip to Chichester.

Great little hotel full of character with helpful and charming staff. Obviously such a small hotel in the old city centre lacks the bells and whistles you expect from the big chains, but I never use the bells and whistles anyway. It's an hotel, not a spa! Really comfortable and generously sized accomocation well looked after. Great breakfast BTW.

I booked the honeymoon suite (room 6) about a year in advance because I was on tour with my choir and singing at the cathedral. I had to have two phone calls in order to pay because my booking was accepted based on my AMEX details but, as arrival drew near, it turned out they don;t take AMEX. Tamsin's telephone manner is exemplary and she took my payment over the phone and also agreed to do her best to make my room cool becasue the forecast was for a one-day heatwave on my arrival date. On arrival the welcome could not have been warmer from Tamsin and then Anne, the owner. As this is a listed building , any air conditioning has to be mobile units. Tamsin and Anne helpfully brought me the unit and we got it working perfectly and my huge room soon cooled down. That evening I sat with the owners Anne and Georg and had a very nice glass of wine , chatted a bit in German and was made to feel very much at home. My room was splendid, with a 4-poster bed and jacuzzi bath with exciting lighting. I had many baths while I stayed my 3 nights. Staying at this hotel you benefit from feeling you are in a very special listed building with a delightful garden . The decor in the room was beautiful and classical and, in my room at least, it was very quiet indeed. I was singing at the Cathedral each day and it's only 10 minutes' walk, which was very handy for me. I very much enjoyed my breakfasts and the lovely chef John even gave me a poached egg tutorial in the kitchen one morning ...and I have just made them at home using his method. I heartily recommend this hotel. The owners make you feel welcome and they will chat to you . So if you don't want a personalised and special feeling at a hotel, stay somewhere else !

This hotel is a gem. A five-star experience in a two star hotel. From the moment we walked in we were warmly welcomed, not only by owners, George and Anne, but also by university student and all-round useful person, Tamsin along with chef John, a former Savoy Hotel man who makes the best scrambled eggs and smoked salmon I have ever tasted. The whole hotel oozes style. I thought our bedroom, with its claw-footed bath and walk-in shower must be the best in the house, but I found that every room is different and each has something special about it. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

We've stayed here before and booked again in April for another stay in July. I received a phone call mid-July from a lady saying she would have to cancel the booking due to her partner being diagnosed with cancer, I expressed my understanding and wished him well. Two days later we received a cancellation email saying "Sorry, We don't take Amex" a bit strange so I replied asking if they had cancelled due to AMEX. I then got a reply from Jorg the owner "I haven't cancel due to Amex. But you gave me a 16 dig. Number Amex has only 15 numbers. But the CVC has 4 numbers, also Amex With this wrong information we don't have a secure booking." All rather bizarre I thought as the rooms are still showing as available.
