The location is good, the service is average, and the Japanese food on the 11th floor is worth trying. It is very convenient to go anywhere in Chicago, and it is close to the lake, shopping, and eating.

After looking for several hotels, I finally chose this one. I am very satisfied with its facilities and services.

I had read about the negative reviews of the front desk staff before coming here, but didn't know I would face the same. The person at the front desk during morning hours is extremely rude. Each request of mine was not just denied but rudely responded to. I won't say everyone in this hotel is bad because other staff members at night were accommodative and kind, but this front desk employee in the morning shift is spoiling the name of this beautiful hotel. People working in Hospitality industry should know how to behave with customers. When I asked this guy's name, he refused to give it because he knew how he was behaving with me. This was definitely my worst Marriott experience. If you are coming here for your next stay, do not expect the staff to go above and beyond even if you have a status with Marriott. These guys just do not care...

It started with arrival at the hotel which is a beautiful architectural marvel. Then upon leaving our taxi the valet staff greeted us warmly and opened doors like clockwork. Very friendly, helpful and professional front desk and concierge staff throughout the visit. House Range Rover drove me to my conference every day. Restaurants and other amenities on site were beautiful.

I was greeted by the car valet with courtesy and enthusiasm. Checked in by a young woman from Ukraine, who was very welcoming and cheerful. It eased some of the tensions from the Kennedy drive during rush-hour. Then my wife and I were taking upstairs and given a very thorough tour by a courteous young man, Mr. Fnu (?). And the next morning when I checked out, he remembered my name! Our room was very nice as was the entire hotel that we saw. Had a good dinner at the Italian restaurant and a good breakfast at the Japanese restaurant. The gym and the swimming pool were both impressive although unfortunately I didn’t use either one. I read some negative reviews here about this hotel but my experience was very pleasing. I hope to return soon.

Titanium Elite member. Hotel lobby lacks warmth and feels like an office building. No friendly greeting or welcome, cold atmosphere and staff overly pretentious. The person who helped me at the front desk was dressed casually (compared to everyone else) and I wasn’t even sure if he worked there. So bizarre and he was wearing a mask so I couldn’t even hear him well. He didn’t know what time breakfast started or what level the hotel gym was on - not a great start. Used one of my upgrade certificates and was only successfully with scoring a standard room that faced the river, no suites. However there were plenty of suites available for purchase. Get to the room and it looks directly into a construction site across the river, with multiple drills and hammering heard through out the room. Zero sound insulation. This wasn’t going to allow for a restful stay so I enquired at the desk about a new room. Was told I could go to a standard room, no view and lose my upgrade however. When I enquired about suite upgrades was told they need to speak with room controller. Came back and told flatly NO, no suite upgrades even though there were plenty of suites available. In the end, I decided to check out and go to the Ritz Carlton - this all just felt too hard and detracting from what should have been a really nice experience at a new hotel for me in Chicago. A total disappointment and the hotel couldn’t have cared less. The building may be shiny and new but their attitude is crappy and arrogant. Left the hotel and checked into the Ritz Carlton and was upgraded to an executive suite without having to even ask! Take your business elsewhere, don’t mess around with these clowns at the St Regis.

My husband and I recently spent three nights at this lovely hotel during a business trip to Chicago. The location is fantastic—conveniently close to many interesting sites and shops. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly throughout our stay. Our room was spacious and featured a generously sized bathroom with a nice tub. We also had the pleasure of dining at some excellent nearby restaurants. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

I posted this review on another site just after our stay. I was contacted via email about one of the issues, and offered points as an apology for some of what I reported. Thing is, three weeks later, those points haven't appeared, and my follow-up email was ignored. So, might as well make sure the review gets more visibility. I definitely did not expect to give this property four stars, and it’s really 3.5… Marriott lifetime gold, lifetime status on AA and UA, I’ve stayed a lot of top hotels. As a hotel, check the boxes. Very comfortable bed, room darkening shades very dark, silent - even with nascar getting started down the street that morning. But there’s so many of the small details wrong! For the hype and the rate, expected far better. - cannot turn on a light in the bathroom without turning on a light in the main room - could not turn off night light (eventually told to unplug it) - “reading light” is far from the small discreet light expected, unusable as it is up in the ceiling and bright - one chair, no way for a couple to sit at the table to eat.. and the chair looks like a desk chair - full length mirror can only stand 18 inches away - huge bathroom but no privacy for its use .. sliding door really? No exhaust fan. Cubicle approach is weird - shower is pretty, let it be more visible … but also, I can’t read the labels on the shampoo and conditioner without my glasses. The brand name is nice and prominent - amenity kit was open and partially used - “mini fridge” no space for your own anything just an honor bar - called butler for ice at 10:10 pm. By 11:15 i gave up. Never arrived. There’s no ice machine I could find on our floor but when it’s a St Regis should I have even had to go look? Really experienced no service. Stuff left outside room next door at night was still there in the morning, and I mean like 9:30 am - I’ve heard Tre Dita is a very pretty restaurant. We didn’t eat there, but wanted to check it out before leaving. Cannot even access the floor of the hotel outside hours. Chicago is home so I can’t say I’ve checked out all the hotels, but there are several top-end properties we've used for similar weekends in the city and been a lot happier.

We recently stayed at the St. Regis Chicago for five nights to celebrate our anniversary, and it was an unforgettable experience. The hotel made our anniversary trip truly special. From the moment we arrived, we were upgraded to a river view room, which was both spacious and beautiful. To our delight, there was an anniversary cake and welcoming card waiting for us in the room when we checked in. .The service was top-notch. Every staff member we encountered was lively and welcoming. Every evening, we had the privilege of using the St. Regis house car, which made going out for dinner a luxurious experience. The drivers even shared the history of the buildings on the way to our restaurants, adding an extra touch of charm to our evenings. The location is fantastic, being close to the famous park and just a few minutes' walk to the riverwalk. There are so many great restaurants nearby, making it convenient to enjoy the local cuisine. We can't give enough compliments to Michel Battaglin, the St. Regis concierge, who helped us book restaurants and recommended activities prior to our arrival. HIs assistance was invaluable. Highly recommended!
