The location is good, the service is average, and the Japanese food on the 11th floor is worth trying. It is very convenient to go anywhere in Chicago, and it is close to the lake, shopping, and eating.

My husband and I recently spent three nights at this lovely hotel during a business trip to Chicago. The location is fantastic—conveniently close to many interesting sites and shops. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly throughout our stay. Our room was spacious and featured a generously sized bathroom with a nice tub. We also had the pleasure of dining at some excellent nearby restaurants. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

I posted this review on another site just after our stay. I was contacted via email about one of the issues, and offered points as an apology for some of what I reported. Thing is, three weeks later, those points haven't appeared, and my follow-up email was ignored. So, might as well make sure the review gets more visibility. I definitely did not expect to give this property four stars, and it’s really 3.5… Marriott lifetime gold, lifetime status on AA and UA, I’ve stayed a lot of top hotels. As a hotel, check the boxes. Very comfortable bed, room darkening shades very dark, silent - even with nascar getting started down the street that morning. But there’s so many of the small details wrong! For the hype and the rate, expected far better. - cannot turn on a light in the bathroom without turning on a light in the main room - could not turn off night light (eventually told to unplug it) - “reading light” is far from the small discreet light expected, unusable as it is up in the ceiling and bright - one chair, no way for a couple to sit at the table to eat.. and the chair looks like a desk chair - full length mirror can only stand 18 inches away - huge bathroom but no privacy for its use .. sliding door really? No exhaust fan. Cubicle approach is weird - shower is pretty, let it be more visible … but also, I can’t read the labels on the shampoo and conditioner without my glasses. The brand name is nice and prominent - amenity kit was open and partially used - “mini fridge” no space for your own anything just an honor bar - called butler for ice at 10:10 pm. By 11:15 i gave up. Never arrived. There’s no ice machine I could find on our floor but when it’s a St Regis should I have even had to go look? Really experienced no service. Stuff left outside room next door at night was still there in the morning, and I mean like 9:30 am - I’ve heard Tre Dita is a very pretty restaurant. We didn’t eat there, but wanted to check it out before leaving. Cannot even access the floor of the hotel outside hours. Chicago is home so I can’t say I’ve checked out all the hotels, but there are several top-end properties we've used for similar weekends in the city and been a lot happier.

We recently stayed at the St. Regis Chicago for five nights to celebrate our anniversary, and it was an unforgettable experience. The hotel made our anniversary trip truly special. From the moment we arrived, we were upgraded to a river view room, which was both spacious and beautiful. To our delight, there was an anniversary cake and welcoming card waiting for us in the room when we checked in. .The service was top-notch. Every staff member we encountered was lively and welcoming. Every evening, we had the privilege of using the St. Regis house car, which made going out for dinner a luxurious experience. The drivers even shared the history of the buildings on the way to our restaurants, adding an extra touch of charm to our evenings. The location is fantastic, being close to the famous park and just a few minutes' walk to the riverwalk. There are so many great restaurants nearby, making it convenient to enjoy the local cuisine. We can't give enough compliments to Michel Battaglin, the St. Regis concierge, who helped us book restaurants and recommended activities prior to our arrival. HIs assistance was invaluable. Highly recommended!

This new hotel is amazing! The staff are so helpful and friendly. The rooms are immaculate and beautiful! The breakfast was delicious both mornings we were there- one with room service and one in the restaurant. I recommend going to the restaurant for the good food and AMAZING views! What a beautiful setting. The pool also had stellar views from the top floor. Shoutout to the amazing manager (who was in town helping out from the Ritz Carlton St Louis) who went out of her way to accommodate our request for a suite upgrade!

The St. Regis Chicago is a brand new 5-star luxury hotel that sets a new standard for excellence in Chicago hotels. My wife and I stayed one night to celebrate our 25th anniversary and the hotel staff made it a very special stay - upgraded to the John Astor suite with a welcoming gift of fine chocolates and champagne. The suite was incredible with panoramic views of the city, river and the lake. Beautiful large sitting area with a desk and also a full kitchen and breakfast bar. The bathroom was luxurious with a deep round soaking tub and a separate rainshower that could accommodate an NBA player. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The concierge helped get us a reservation at Tre Dita, which one of the city’s hottest restaurants. Delicious meal with impeccable service and striking ambience. We enjoyed a delicious room service breakfast to end our stay. We didn’t have time for the spa this visit, but the workout center and indoor pool looked amazing. Having stayed at the Ritz-Carlton, the Four Seasons, Peninsula and Park Hyatt in Chicago for prior anniversaries, we found that the St. Regis now sets a new standard that surpasses the others and we look forward to our return.

We are currently in our last of 3 nights at the St. Regis Chicago and are considering switching to another property for our final night. While the restaurants and drinks have been great, and we loved our experience with the bar service, the hotel service has been abysmal. The view is wonderful, and the room is clean and modern, but this experience has not met the standards we've come to expect from a St. Regis property. Every issue we've encountered has been attributed to "miscommunication with the staff," whether it involved the level of butler service, the courtesy car, or the lack of room attendance. When we get away, we want to leave stress and worry behind, but after facing four separate issues, our stay has become more stressful than enjoyable. We have two more trips booked at St. Regis properties later this year and are now seriously considering trying another luxury property outside the Marriott family.

First, I would like to acknowledge and commend Solange, FNU, Lorry, and Richard Garling. Richard, in particular went absolutely above and beyond. He truly made my experience incredible. He is a gem of a human being. I travel the world and believe in taking care of staff through tipping always, and in turn I expect them to take care of me to make my stay the most enjoyable it can possibly be. And that is exactly what Richard did. Alyssa, on the other hand was extremely condescending and as a suggestion I feel that your staff needs to remove the word "regrettably" from their vocabulary. Clearly it was a word that was taught in St Regis hospitality training I am aware that it's a "kinder" way of saying "No", but it comes off incredibly condescending and rude when repeated multiple times. I have Amex FHR and am Marriot Bonvoy Gold status, which entitles me to an upgrade upon availability. I tipped Alyssa upon check in, and she "upgraded" me to a Superior Room, which is a complete joke of an upgrade and quite frankly insulting. Additionally, upon receiving my Folio bill, I noticed my AMEX FHR $60/day breakfast credit was not removed from my bill. With Amex FHR, I am entitled to $60/day breakfast credit PLUS a $100 experience credit during my stay. The woman I spoke to on the phone (I am not sure what her name was) told me I was "confused". I told her to please do not refer to me as confused and to pull up the list of FHR benefits right now and you can clearly see that she's incorrect. Misty from the spa was incredible. She was so personable. I travel the world and have been to some of the most amazing spas, and she gave me one of my top facial experiences. I only wish i had more time to book a massage with her because her facial lymphatic massage and neck massage during my treatment were amazing. Candace, the hostess at Tre Dita was phenomenal and so sweet. Lastly, 3 days in a row I did not receive housekeeping, or turn down service despite the fact that I called in advance to request it all three days AND even put the make up the room sign on the door. Additionally when I ordered room service and placed the tray in the hallway when I was finished. It sat in the hallway for 5+ hours. I will be giving the St Regis Chicago another shot next time I visit because I am hoping with my constructive criticism and glowing review of some of the amazing staff I mentioned above, I anticipate having a much better experience and hope they can redeem themselves.

I have been itching to stay in this new architectural icon and finally had the chance recently! The service throughout was genuine and helpful. The views from room 621, Deluxe Water View, were a delight and made the River Walk and Lakefront Trail even more inviting to get a few miles in during my stay - both are very convenient to the St Regis. I found the furnishings in the room and bathroom fresh and unique. My only surprise was how bland the lobby is - comparable to an office lobby. There is a check-in desk and oodles of seating, but no gathering space for cocktails. The restaurants and bar options are on floors 2 or 11. But it is a newer property, so perhaps this is in the works. I am absolutely looking forward to returning the St Regis Chicago!
