A place far far away from town and also Mon Jam. I was planning to stay 1 night in Mon Jam actually, however I didn’t noticed the homestay is another mountain from Mon Jam (called Pong Yaeng) which was Trip.com suggested to me when I search for hotels of Mon Jam. I booked it for family trip, we called the Grab to send us to there so that we can check in and drop the bags first. I must to say, the way to get to the homestay was quite thrilling cause the last section of the way were rugged mountain road, luckily the driver was expertly to send us there safely. After we settled down and want to go out to Mon Jam for sightseeing, there were no car to pick us up through Grab cause we were too far away from town. Although the host had help us to ask for the ride, there was no reply too. Even if yes, it cost around 400-500 THB which was very expensive tho. So we were stuck in the homestay to having the peace and silence. Luckily we can still order food from the host when we feeling hungry, having the meal with the mountain view and BBQ+hotpot for dinner were also some good experiences here. Actually the place was quite good and the host was very nice, I’m sure there would be a good place to stay if you are not concerned about the location and looking for some peaceful stay. But I would strongly recommend you to rent a car, motorbike or even a driver, just in case you want to go somewhere else for sightseeing. Or you can go to play or sightseeing before going to the homestay, it’s all up to you😉

I have only been to Japan two times, both briefly, though that was enough for me to realize that I deeply respect and appreciate Japanese aesthetics and sensibilities. Although I plan to return to Japan, I visit Thailand much more often, another place I love. It was, therefore, a special treat to be able to stay at the serene Onsen @ Moncham, a Japanese-style hotel built in 2017 with hot springs in the Mae Rim district of Chiang Mai. Although less than an hour away from the delightful city of Chiang Mai, the Rose of the North, the grounds of the hotel, as well as the surrounding area of rolling verdant hills at 1200 meters where it is cooler, is absolutely gorgeous. It feels like another world. And what a wonderful world it is! I thoroughly enjoyed a complimentary, two-night stay in the Iris Grand Tatami Onsen Suite — rooms have a name as well as a number — which was like a fantasy come true. The well-designed room in this well-managed hotel is spacious and culturally immersive, while being modern and luxurious — with large-screen TV and Japanese toilet seat — and the bedding on the floor is so satisfying. This inviting suite has its own private onsen, which can look out on its own garden in front with a view of the hills beyond, if one opens the sliding doors, as I happily did. I could easily sense the care taken to provide a perfect balance of beauty, comfort, and privacy in this ryokan. Attended by 50 multi-tasking staff, each of the two dozen rooms and suites — some larger than where I live! — is unique and tastefully designed, stocked with various luxe amenities that I was happy to avail myself of, including the rice shower gel, various teas, yuzu soda, Asahi beer, and other special little niceties. I admit that I felt special, for example, wearing the yukata, a Japanese-style robe. Free wi-fi, parking, bottled water in beautiful Thai cloth sacks, and various toiletries are also conveniently included, which I appreciate. The staff is unfailingly attentive, helpful, and polite without being intrusive, providing a perfect blend of seamless service. When they noticed I was chilly in the dining room, they wrapped me in a soft blanket! The mineral water from the natural hot springs, emanating from over 100 meters below ground, is so relaxing and revitalizing. I'm confident it's good for the skin and muscles, but I know for sure that it's good for my spirit. The indoor onsen is sex-segregated without clothing, while the onsen in the garden is mixed-gender with swimsuits required. Both are wonderful. after the onsen in the misty mountain air a pair of black swans The Japanese garden is lovely and peaceful, the spa is delightful (there are various services one could choose from), and while the small gym appeared nice, I opted to avoid that particular arena, prioritizing other more peaceful pursuits, which is so easy to accomplish amidst this little patch of paradise with koi and duck ponds, walking bridges, rock gardens, and beautiful fl

Proud Phu Fah was neat to stay at, but difficult for exploring Chiang Mai. We enjoyed feeling like we were staying in the jungle, and the room was clean and well-kept. There were three breakfast options, including one American breakfast, and the staff at the restaurant were especially pleasant. We were glad to have access to a pool, although it was a little chilly, even with pretty warm weather. In hindsight, we should have stayed closer to the city since we wanted to spend most of our time exploring Chiang Mai. There was a hotel driver available for an extra cost (1000 baht for a 1-way trip) who was very kind and flexible with our desires to go to the city. Once in the city, we had an easy time finding a Grab (like Uber) driver back to the hotel for a smaller cost. However, being about an hour away from the Old Town part of the city made for longer days. Overall, Proud Phu Fah would be a great place to stay if you are looking to hang out at the hotel most of the time! If you are wanting to explore Chiang Mai and go on excursions to an elephant sanctuary, the sticky waterfall, or Doi Inthanon, you're probably better off staying in the city instead!

It is a very cost-effective hotel. Because it is newly opened, the appearance and hotel rooms are very beautiful and modern. There is also a lot of working space in the lobby and there is a cafe next to it. Unfortunately, it does not provide staple food. Apart from the fact that it is far away from the center of Chiang Mai (if you rent a car/motorcycle, there is basically no problem, and it is also convenient for visiting suburban attractions), and there are not many restaurants with English menus nearby, everything else is very good!

All the things that wants to be explored are in reachable distance. This is excellent hotel that I’ve ever stayed, the hotel stuffs are weak in English though. They are very hospitable and showcasing as the land of smile. From the point of cleanliness, rooms are shiny and bright. The most awesome thing is pet friendly. So I am considering to stay again in this hotel.

Rooms are so ordinary and in good condition. Unfortunately, the shower is only separated by a corner and the bathroom is mostly wet when doing the shower. The hall is very modern, unfortunately everything is very bright. The situation is unfortunately not good if you are usually too far on the road. I had to take a taxi/tuktuk in two days for all routes because the route 1 is relatively long and 2 is not pleasant to go. There's a lot of things that you'd save with a more central hotel. We had read that the hotel should be in a culinary area, but we have not seen it and have thus spent time in other areas day and evening.

KKyaw Zay LinnA fantastic hotel. I love the spacious and cosy room. The hotel gives out very similar vibes as The Raffles Hotel in Singapore. About 8-10 minutes walk from the Maya lifestyle mall. Buffet breakfast was fantastic too! There is a selection of western and Thai breakfast delicacies. Really love the stay here.

GGuest UserMy family could not have asked for a better experience. Toto (our butler) and Ann (the general manger) helped make our trip especially memorable. Our kids loved Toto and continue to tell his jokes. Ann keeps a keen eye on this property, always looking to improve. Only 30 rooms allows for a quaint and serene rest. The rooms are large and comfortable. Easy distance to the walled city. The 137 pillars staff ensure a seamless stay.

GGuest UserWe stayed at this hotel for six nights. It’s in a good location within the old city. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. We did not hear any street noise at night. Our package included breakfast which was a good option. Breakfast included a choice of hot dishes, cereals, yogurt, fruit, toast, croissants, juice, coffee and tea. The pool was refreshingly cool and there is a small cafe/bar next to the pool. The staff were somewhat friendly although there was one front desk fellow who seemed a little aloof. I think perhaps their spoken English isn’t very strong which might be the reason for this. The woman in the lobby who did the tour bookings was very friendly and helpful. There is a security guard outside. Overall, a good little hotel and gave it four stars. (I only give 5 stars if there is something really outstanding such as exceptional service above and beyond.) We would stay here again if the opportunity arose.

GGuest UserThe hotel in general is quite recommendable. The location is good as it is inside the wall and very close to one of the main streets where you can find bike rentals, coffee, washing machines etc. The room was spacious and the bathroom was clean and we got water bottles every day in the mini bar. There is a swimming pool when you get into the hotel and it's okay since it's enough to refresh you from high temperatures. The staff is friendly and recommend things to do in your stay in the city. The room was very comfortable and the room was very comfortable. They have breakfast available in addition to the price . We were left after check out.

GGuest UserIt was a good location and the room was huge. It was also nicely decorated in an old Thai style which made it a very ambient place to stay. However, it’s very dated and clearly hasn’t had any upgrades. The bathroom was horrible and while technically it has been cleaned, there was so much mould in the shower tiles and a huge section of the ceiling was mouldy as well. It was not pleasant to go there especially as it’s where you want to go to get clean.
