Glen Garth Guest House

This is one of the loveliest guest houses I’ve ever stayed in. Hosts are warm and generous, lovely breakfast, comfy bedrooms (and really they’ve thought of everything). Travel iron in every room hairdryer, make up wipes, tissues, tea and biscuits, a spare blanket, and a comfy bathrobe. Beds are comfy, with a lovely heavy duvet and full feeling pillows. They even recommended a running route for me. Also, as a side note, external bathroom is not a downgrade but in fact a luxury. I stayed in both rooms with external bathroom (1 and 4) and they could not have been better (especially 4). Stunning bathroom with a great shower and complimentary shampoo/body wash and moisturiser on the basins. I would stay here again for sure if I’m ever back in Chester (actually thinking about planning a trip with my husband just to come back here!). I absolutely would have no notes for this stunning place. My only note is to myself - bring your own conditioner if you like to use that in the shower! Also, if you like dogs, they have the sweetest standard poodle you’ll ever meet.

Hayley and John are awesome! Glen Garth is such a sweet place. Right from the get go, after our booking online, we received a personal email from Hayley and John. It didn't stop there, they were great at communicating with us. We'd come in to travel to Liverpool for the trophy parade and we were able to park our car at the guest house a few hours before our check in. The room was warm, inviting, clean and cosy. There were a few other guests but we didn't notice and it felt like we were their personal guests. We received a lovely, warm welcome when we came down for breakfast and the breakfast was very tasty and there was plenty to eat - the cooked breakfast being personally prepared by John. The guest house is close to the city centre too being about a 10mins walk from the train station. We couldn't have had a more lovely experience. We would highly recommend to anyone looking for a lovely, personal and warm stay.

We have just returned from a short break visiting the delights of Chester. Glen Garth is ideally located as it is a short walk into the town centre as well as on a bus route. There is a good selection of pubs and restaurants to walk out in the evening for an evening meal. Hayley and John are delightful hosts. Hayley made us feel very welcome when we arrived. Our room was very clean and comfortable with everything we required. Breakfast was brilliant with a good selection of cereals, yogurts and of course the cooked breakfast. I will be recommending Glen Garth to friends and family, who like us decide to visit the area.

This is our first visit to the Glen Garth but certainly won't be the last. The hosts Hayley and John were amazing and Hayley's wealth of knowledge was unbelievable, the book they had produced in the bedroom was far beyond anything I expected, the information was super informative more than any I have seen in any 4* hotels!. Our room was perfect on the 2nd floor and a large family room with everything one could want. The breakfasts were, as my husband said 11/10 so what more can I say. The location was a 15 minute walk into Chester City centre however Hoole village is right next door and has restaurants, pubs and shops if you don't fancy the walk. Overall a fabulous 2 night stay in a lovely family run B&B, I would recommend anyone to try this but hope it doesn't become too popular and we can't book in the future. Elaine and Paul Dilsworth

We're just on the way home from the perfect stay at this wonderful gem. The most ideal central location in the heart of Chester with the quaint hoole high street on your door step. I can't rate the location high enough as you are minutes from the centre and the train station and have so many shops pubs restaurants at your fingertips. Parking was available at the property. The room was cosy spotless clean and beds super comfy. We had everything we needed and more. The breakfast was perfect. The hosts set this guesthouse apart from the rest as they are warm friendly and made us feel right at home. Only wish we could've stayed longer. We will most definitely be back. Anyone looking for a break away I can't recommend this gem enough. Thanks guys x

Myself & Kevin stayed here previously in May 2023, and when we decided to marry in December 2024 we couldn’t think of anywhere more perfect than Glen Garth. Hayley & John went above and beyond from start to finish , Hayley made such a great effort with gorgeous little details , and made our stay even more magical. Such a homely feel, nothing was too much trouble , Hayley’s husband John even came to my rescue having forgotten my bridal bouquet. I highly recommend here and will always hold a lovey memory for myself and Kevin.
