Chermside Court Motel

Booked this motel in advance of a medical trip to Brisbane and was assured this would suit disability needs (large power wheelchair & hoist) along with 2 support workers & client. Measurements of bed, door etc. were relayed verbally and assured this would suit our needs. Upon arrival, it became evident that this would not suit and so management offered to reconfigure the furniture and supply another room for the second support worker, however, even with these attempts, the client could not use equipment or navigate the room safely. Verbally confirmed with management, that 1 night's cancellation fee would apply as per cancellation policy; "CANCELLATION POLICY - Any changed or cancelled booking will always forfeit the full amount of the first changed or cancelled night." When we questioned the room not being fit for purpose and therefore, consideration of wavering the cancellation fee due to false advertisement, we were advised the owner would need to make this decision. After booking into another suitable disability friendly hotel, subsequent follow up with Chermside Court Motel, it became evident that not only would consideration of wavering the cancellation fee of once night, but in fact, they wanted to charge the entire booking. This is disgusting and an absolute disgrace and fraudulent (above extract taken directly form booking confirmation regarding cancellation policy) Will never stay here again and would not recommend as management are rude and dismissive.

I would never recommend this Motel to anyone! States on booking site “ Free Cancellation “ no payment required until month prior to arrival. I booked my partner and I in for 2 nights in August 2023, then had to cancel this next day due to not being able to get that time off work. So much for not deducting the money until month prior to the stay! They deducted the full amount straight up! Also no such thing as “free cancellation “ they never refunded me one cent of the 2 nights accommodation they deducted! It wasn’t like they would not be able to rebook the room in a years time! So rude! False advertising! And dishonest!!!

BEWARE!! This was by far the worst motel experience of our life, the whole ordeal was very upsetting for my wife and daughter, the rude piece of work at reception that my daughter now refers to as Crazy lady, wanted to charge extra for everything, including $99 callout fee for getting the main room light repaired that flickered and was unusable, after departing we found FRAUDULENT CHARGES had been made on not only our account, but the accounts of all our friends who stayed there, $60 and $80 for no key returns or cleaning that was not required, given that there were 7 rooms booked, the charges added up to over $500 gained by deception and fraud.. DONT GO THROUGH THE SAME HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, We had to cancel our card to orevent any further fraud and are waiting to hear back from the Banks fraud team.
