We stopped here on our way to Cornwall and found it to be so good that we stopped here again on the way back. The food is excellent, reasonably priced and thoroughly honest. I wouldn’t think twice about recommending it to anyone. We will be visiting again, hopefully many times.

The breakfast was very average that if you like Wetherspoons this is for you! Personally Greendale farm / Darts farm is how breakfast is done! The coffee was shocking! Very watery and milk poured straight from the carton……not how you make a mocha nor does it look like anything like the coffee on their website how it should be served! If you like to go for a great coffee go to Chagford

Live locally. Stopped for coffee and toasted tea-cake. Toasted yes cakes £4.50 EACH and they were over done. Coffee had to be drunk immediately as it wasn’t particularly warm. Staff attitude poor! Like to support local businesses but they have to deserve it!

5 star We have literally just left this wonderful charming cafe, after needing a toilet break and some food, as we were heading into a traffic jam on the A30 we fell spin it really, We enjoyed a toilet break and a delicious fish Gougon sandwich and a fish platter. Wonderful charming service, delicious hot food to suit all tasted, yummy looking cakes too, but we didn’t try them.

We didn't stay overnight. We had just had a very long journey and was so looking forward to a cup of coffee with a late breakfast or early lunch. The cafe was OK, but very tired and dated looking. There wasn't a warm welcome on arrival. More like, just place your order and if you haven't got a table you will have to eat outside, along with a rather blank stare. Which I red as, if you don't like it - leave! The customers sitting down were really smiley towards us, as if to say they had just had the same treatment. What really tipped us over the edge was the state of the mens loos. Disgusting! No door on the cubicle and urinals were a disgrace. And this is by a business that is food orientated. You are charging enough for food, so not excuses please! We always leap to support local, but you need to step up your game. But then, I am sure you couldn't care less about our experience anyway! Won't be returning.

We enjoyed our visit, but were very disappointed with the selection of cakes. They also wanted to charge 75p for some jam to go with my toasted teacake!! Also, even though I asked for extra hot coffee it wasn't.

We travelled for about 45mins to get there based upon our visit a couple of years ago. We weren’t disappointed! The cream tea is still the best we’ve ever had. Warm scones, plenty of clotted cream & jam and the cup of tea was so good that we had another one! Thank you for making us feel so welcome and for keeping your cream tea standards so high. Can’t wait to visit again.

We visited a couple of years ago and found the place to be an excellent cafe to stop on the way to Cornwall . Sadly something missing this time … please use butter and not cheap spread on the toast and my bacon was a little over done . Still massively popular for a stop off though and better than a motorway cafe .

Stayed one night in room No1 overlooking the car park. Room seemed pleasant enough on first glance but closer inspection revealed less than satisfactory features. The mattress was truly awful - we think it was upside down (ie a mattress designed not to be turned over) and the springs on it truly felt by us all night. Because of the lack of reception we had no one to contact about it until the morning so it was a really bad night’s sleep as a result. With poor bedding materials - thin and tired lumpy pillows too - it was a poor experience. One wonders why the mattress was turned over in the first place… The room decor is nice but some of the decorations don’t really match which is a shame as it could look fantastic with some effort. The shower in the en-suite an electric model with low pressure. Does the job but not a ‘wow’ experience sadly. No heated towel rail available either to hang the small thin towels provided. The room had a TV with no HD channels that I could see so it wasn’t the best. There was a small wardrobe available but full of old items and partially blocked by an unnecessary bureau in front of it. Plenty of tea, coffee and a few biscuits so that was ok. Included breakfast in the cafe next door - no evening meals available. It was an ‘all-day breakfast’ type of place which again was ok, nothing special to be honest. Seemed popular though presumably from locals/regulars or from the adjacent campsite. Would I stay again? Alas no I wouldn’t
