Yunji Hotel (Chenzhou Yangtian Lake Grassland Scenic Area Branch)

Ambience: Very nice, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the vast Yangtian Lake grassland. Cleanliness: The bathroom had an odor, which was resolved after notification. Service: Quick response to any issues. Facilities: The facilities were adequate, with none of the issues mentioned by other guests. The shower leaked when I showered, and I was offered a new room after reporting this. However, the new room also had other issues, and after a night of hassle, the owner and Ctrip ultimately provided compensation. Despite some minor hiccups, I was generally satisfied.

I've stayed in many hotels and rarely give negative reviews, but this one is an exception! 1. The hotel is located not far from the Yangtian Lake Grassland Scenic Area, but there's no shuttle bus from the scenic area to the hotel. At an altitude of 1,314 meters, guests without a car have to lug their luggage to the hotel. We confirmed the shuttle with the front desk before arriving. The first time, the female receptionist said they could contact a partner driver. A second time, the male receptionist said there were no partner drivers, even though Ctrip's transportation service showed they had a taxi service. 2. The hotel only offers breakfast; there's no lunch or dinner. We had to go to another hotel or order food from a farm stay, even though Ctrip's catering service showed lunch and dinner. Also, the Yunshang Restaurant Bar is open from 8:30 AM to 8:30 PM, but the hotel staff said they had to close at 5 PM and wouldn't allow us to dine in. We only agreed after we contacted the front desk. 3. When we checked into the hotel, the front desk didn't tell us that the room used an electric water heater. Later, when we showered, we discovered that once the previous person ran out of hot water, the next person would have no hot water for a short period of time. We only got a heads-up after calling the front desk. The temperature on the mountain that day was only in the teens and it was raining heavily. We were all soaked, and even trying to get a hot shower was impossible. We ended up using cold water, which caused several people to catch colds.

The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the entrance of Yangtian Lake Grassland (admission tickets are not included in the accommodation). The room has a direct view of the Yangtian Lake Grassland Scenic Area. The store service is very good, giving bonfire breakfast coupons and telling the bonfire time. There is no takeaway here, so we asked the store and the store helped to order food and delivered it to the room. The supplies and facilities in the room are very high-tech, with electric wine cabinets, Xiaodu speakers, etc. In fact, if it weren't for a big drawback, it would definitely be a full score. The biggest drawback here is that it is at the top of a high mountain grassland, with howling winds, a very leaky door, and it is very close to the bed. The wind is as strong as the day when the Monkey King abducted Baihuaxiu. I hid in the quilt, not knowing whether it was Baihuaxiu's mood or the old king's. Anyway, I thought about it for the store owner all night, and I feel that a felt door curtain can solve this problem. In fact, it is better to stay overnight and enter the scenic area at around 8 o'clock when visiting Yangtian Lake Grassland during a holiday like National Day. When others are still queuing in traffic jams to enter, we will have already driven smoothly to the next stop. If it is not so windy at night, you can also have a bonfire party, watch fireworks, and see the intangible cultural heritage of iron flower making (we didn't see it because the wind was too strong). Friendly reminder: It is very cold on the top of the mountain. You have to wear short sleeves in Dongjiang Lake. You have to wear a down jacket in the early morning and evening when going up the mountain, otherwise you will find yourself walking around the grassland with a quilt wrapped around you. The hotel's plank road looks like a wild road that leads directly into the scenic area. You will definitely notice it when you stay there, but you are not allowed to go down the plank road. It is probably because if you get injured, it is the hotel's responsibility because it is not a road. In addition, if you succeed, you will be suspected of evading the ticket, which is not good. Finally, I still recommend that you wear a hoodie, as a single hat will be blown away.

The facilities and equipment are a bit old, but the location is very good. You can see the mountains, water, wind turbines, sunset and sunrise. The breakfast is not bad. It is more suitable for couples.

The hotel is on the top of the mountain, overlooking the Yangtian Lake grassland, with beautiful scenery and quiet environment. Large shipping containers decorate one room and one living room. The floor-to-ceiling glass windows offer a beautiful view of the grassland. It is warm and comfortable. There is also an outdoor terrace, which is very suitable for vacation relaxation. The cleanliness and service are great. This is a hotel I will stay at again. Breakfast is a bit monotonous, maybe due to the mountain top environment, there are only simple meals.

I am not very satisfied with this trip. Let me talk about the pros and cons. 📍Pros: 1⃣It is very close to Yangtian Lake Scenic Area, just over 10 minutes' walk, and you can see Yangtian Lake Scenic Area from the homestay. 2⃣ Located on the top of the mountain, you can lie in the room and enjoy the scenery. 3⃣The layout of the homestay is quite thoughtful. 📍 Cons: 1⃣The management is not in place. There are many service staff, but except for the male brother at the front desk who is quite enthusiastic, the others are very cold and the service is not in place. 2⃣ It took us 2.5 hours to drive the last 8 kilometers of mountain roads to the B&B. The roads were all quite steep and we kept braking. I felt like the car was not in good condition. The B&B did not remind us in advance, which was not considerate enough. Arriving early will avoid this. 3⃣ The B&B doesn't have a restaurant. It was my first time to encounter such a situation. They only provide breakfast. There is no dinner at the top of the mountain. They helped to pack it, but the taste was really bad. I drove down to eat but there was a traffic jam, so I had to wait for dawn with an empty stomach. 3⃣ Children are charged separately for breakfast. This is the first homestay. How much money can be charged, but the experience for guests is very bad.
