Yuchen Holiday Hotel

We are American expats living in Hong Kong and we traveled to Kunming area for our school’s Easter holiday. We were very impressed with this area along the northeastern coast of Fuxian lake. We especially loved our stay at this hotel. Positives: It had a prime location for views of the lake. We stayed two nights and each morning, we walked out of our building and had a breathtaking view. 2. The staff was so kind to us! They were easily reachable on WeChat and answered all of the questions we had. They helped us know how to rent electric scooters and even did a load of laundry for us! 3. The room was GORGEOUS. We booked a mountain-view parent/child suite. It was spacious and the bathroom was modern and beautiful. Even more important to us, the mattresses were comfortable! They were more like mattresses you’d find in the US instead of ones you’d find in China. The shower had instant hot water that did not run out. 4. The breakfast was delicious and included in the room cost. Our first morning was ordered from a menu….we were able to order western-style with fried eggs, sausage, and toast. We could also order any other items like dim sum buns and dumplings. The second morning was Chinese buffet style with rice noodles, hard boiled eggs, etc., but they did have toast with butter and jam! Negatives: I don’t have any! We stayed at two different hotels during our stay in this area and they were both amazing! We would choose either again in a heartbeat!
