As expected for a 5 star hotel. They delivered a ‘ welcome’ note to my room but got my name wrong and was in Chinese which I didnt understand. Laundry is extremely expensive as is breakfast, although is worth the value for money (50 yuan).

(+) accomodate early check-in at 10am, check-in process is fast, and staff is helpful (credit to Steven)
(+) location is super great, a door step away from Metro station and there is 24hr mini convenient store nearby
(+) room is spacious (my room is upgraded for free) and the bathtub with city view is awesome
(-) breakfast option is not so much
(-) wifi is not working well, the staff said we need to connect to VPN to access non-Chinese websites/apps
(-) air condition in my room is not working well, feels too hot especially in summer time, asked the staff to check but never come to fix

Old school 5-star hotel. Nice location and service.
Wide spread breakfast.
Nice view of twin towers.
Nice amenities.

I booked all non-smoking rooms but some of them have strong smoke odor.
Thin walls, you hear conversations from your neighbors.

Just perfect , placed in a very nice part of the city. In the front desk they speak English and what’s more they are very nice and helpful , that makes easier almost everything.
The room was huge , clean and juste perfect with an outstanding view of the city.
We definitely recommend it and we’ll stay here a gain if we come back one day.

room is huge, plenty of space for packing. however, the amenities seems rather lacking for a 5-stars hotel (no swimming pool, pillows were too thin, aircon makes dull noises whenever it is turned on). i’d say that this is the lower end of a 5-stars hotel. some of the 4-stars hotels that i’ve stayed in chengdu were almost on par with dorsett.
