We needed some r&r in Charters Towers and thought this would fit the bill. But how disappointing. Firstly, the bed. The bed (a double, not a Queen) was on castors on a tiled floor so was constantly sliding away from the wall. Comfortable TV watching was a challenge. Bed linen was cheap and scratchy. The cold snap meant we needed more bedding but none was provided and the a/c only offered cooling. We had to cannibalise the single bed - luckily we weren't travelling with a child. Now, the rest. The concrete block walls were painted a dreary shade of grey/khaki and the whole place could do with a decor upgrade. Numerous other problems: no shower curtain so bathroom floor constantly wet despite our best efforts, a very poorly draining sink, a broken switch for ceiling fans, no freezer compartment in fridge, ... Need I go on? Such a pity as comments indicate the food here is not bad
