Did a one night stay. Hotel was average in all respects as far as services etc. Went for breakfast in the morning and we did put our luggage in the car when we went. Finished breakfast early so checked with front desk on the checkout time and they said 11 so we said to them great no rush and went for a walk. It was foggy so we didn't want to checkout till later, the plan was closer to 11. Got back from walk a few minutes after 9 to go to the room and washup after breakfast and to do a final room check for jewellry left on nightstands, chargers, dropped socks etc. Imagine how I felt when my room door is wide open! They cleaned out the room. I paid $317.00 for a room didn't even get to use till close to checkout time. So security isn't so great either if they don't care if you have checked out before leaving your door wide open. All we got from them was a sorry. I have traveled for work and pleasure in many countries for years and have never had staff enter my room like this and leave it open.
Comfort Inn

The location is very good, close to Charlottetown Mall, very close to Walmart, Bestbuy, Bank, Starbuck Coffee. Of course, the city is small, I said that it is a five-minute drive. Of course, domestic bookings are a little expensive, and local reservations will be 25% off, so don't believe you can call and try.
The Sonata Inn

Everything about this place was better than we expected. The young woman who checked us in was so helpful and accommodating, even calling a local performance venue about a show we wanted to attend that night. The room was nice and the bed was very comfortable. There was even a laundry for guests to use for only $1 per load. There was a kitchenette just down the hall that had wine glasses, a microwave, and coffee and tea. They also had books, games, and DVD’s for guests to use. Breakfast consisted of fruit, bagels and toast, breads, egg custard tarts, blueberry tarts, and a hot entree. The location was very close to the town center and best of all, the price was very reasonable.

Sherwood Inn and Motel Charlottetown

My husband and I stayed in the motel (RM #30) for a few days in early November. The room was frigid when we checked in. It felt like they had turned the heat off completely. We turned the thermostat up to 30 degrees and went out for supper. Two hours later, when we returned, we expected to find the room toasty warm however it was only slightly warmer. (Not warm enough to take our winter coats off though.) When we complained to the front desk, someone came to our room and turned our thermostat DOWN (to 27 or 28) saying that the heat would work better at the new setting and that we should wait another half hour. Of course, it didn't warm up any. When my husband returned to the front desk, he was given a portable space heater for us to use. It was probably 2 hours before it warmed up enough to take our winter coats off!! The room continued to remain too cool for comfort over the course of the next few days. It seemed like housekeeping turned the heat down every time they came in to clean then it took forever to warm it up again. It seemed like either their boiler wasn't working properly or they had it turned down (to save money?). Obviously this is a repeat problem or they would not have had a portable heater available to loan out. I'm not sure if the rooms in the main inn were any warmer or not but it certainly was not comfortable in the motel portion. I would NOT stay here again!
