I travel a few times a year, am a Hilton Honors member, and prefer hotels within the Hilton group. But I'm always willing to try out non-Hilton hotels, too! Pros - the hotel is safe, the front desk staff (Lolly and Phil) are genuinely friendly and helpful, there is complimentary gourmet coffee in the lobby, the room was clean, and the bathroom was nice and clean and stocked with Neutrogena toiletries. The Whole Foods in the next block helped me get healthy meals I prepared with the microwave in my room. The convention center is across the street. Cons - it is easy to miss the hotel from the outside, and the complimentary breakfast is starchy! In summary, I enjoyed my stay at the Home2Suites Charlotte Uptown. It is an excellent hotel with friendly staff, and I would stay there again if I had to return to Charlotte on business.

First off, it was completely not listed with IHG as being under construction. The lobby is closed, and there is no common area in the lobby, minus the restaurant, which does not open until 5pm. Front desk and staff are extremely kind. That’s the whole reason for the 2 stars. In terms of room - I’m currently sitting here trying to find us a different hotel to move to. First off, we have Platinum Elite status with IHG. I completely understand upgrades are subject to availability, and the hotel is busy this weekend. However, I would have expected to be put into a room that wouldn’t typically go to a Priceline customer. Our view is all of the mechanical roof. But, I have a hard time complaining too much about it, as the windows are so dirty, you can barely see the air ducts and other roof equipment. Out of the faucet, room temperature is the only option. Cold and hot don’t work. I needed a little warm water, so used the Keurig to heat some up and - 🤢. Just gross and dirty. The floor and beds appear clean, but overall, the room is drab and disappointing. Given how filthy some parts are though, we certainly won’t be going barefoot here. Had stayed here years ago for a wedding and it was fine. If I’d known it was being renovated, I would have certainly picked somewhere else. My suggestion - pick a different hotel for your visit to Charlotte! We’re flying down for 3 more games this season, and will definitely be staying elsewhere!

The hotel was nice, and quiet, didn't hear doors slamming throughout the night like most hotels. Was told it was only 4 blocks from the convention center. Was actually like 10 blocks. Parking was a little over priced at $45. The valet never sent call links and it took 25-30 min to get our truck sometimes then they expected a tip as those links didn't seem to have any trouble getting through to my phone. Parking/valet would prob be my least favorite about the hotel. Breakfast was spot on! The staff were incredible in the breakfast area. Especially one lady I wish I had her name. My sone was getting over a chest cold and she made him a Honey Lemon Tea.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The location was convenient to shopping and dining. The hotel and room could have been a little cleaner, especially during COVID-19. There was a half used toilet paper roll and no extra roll available in the bathroom. There was no hand soap provided either.

***Don’t book here for important events!!*** I came to this hotel for a wedding on Saturday June 1st. The wedding hosts had reserved a set amount of rooms with a discount rate when I booked a king room on April 10th. I had called on Friday May 31st to see if I could check in early, and I was instructed not quite and to try again the next day when I arrive from my flight and they might have a room ready when I arrive. I arrived at 11ish, I call and was told they updated my reservation but no room ready yet. I get there at 12 and I check again, no room ready yet. They said most likely a room won’t be available until normal check in time at 4pm. All this I could understand bc I was requesting to check in early. At 4pm, I tried to check in and was told that they oversold rooms and they did not have a room for me and had no idea when they would have a room. The wedding was at 6pm and I needed to leave at 5pm to make it on time. Crazy!! I was offered the transfer room in the lobby to change and get ready for the wedding but it was still extremely uncomfortable and I was even late for the wedding because someone else was using the room before me!! Fast forward to after the wedding, I get back to the hotel by around 11:30pm. Still no room!!! I was told the assistant manager was cleaning the room as all the housing staff had left for the day. There was even another gentleman in front of me who said he was waiting for 2 hrs for his room and also was told the assistant gm was cleaning his room too. He also told me the hotel overbooked by 11 rooms(which I can’t verify but I certainly believe). I proceed to wait another hour(!!) for my room to be cleaner. At this point it’s around 12:30AM, I’m extremely tired and cranky. Michelle the AGM comes down and informs me my room is ready, which the only positive thing about this horribleeeee experience was Michelle as I could tell she was frazzled with the mess that was left for her and from cleaning rooms, but she was still nice and understanding when I talked to her. And I guess the king bedrooms were all out as I was given a room with two queens just for myself. I definitely will not be staying at this hotel in Charlotte again, nor will I want to stay at any other Hilton Canopy since this seems to be an issue with the reservation system more than anything. Stay away if you have an important event planned for your stay!!

This stay was a disappointment to say the least. I was able to change my room and obtain a key without an ID (I had an issue with online check in on the App) - this seems dangerous in my opinion. Additionally, my personal CC was charged instead of my Corp CC. No idea how this happened since I used my company booking website which has NEVER had my personal CC stored/used. I was told first that I swiped my personal card (checked in online) and then I was told my reservation had my personal card on it (sorry, I have the confirmation email and it has my Corp CC on it). First time in 20 years of traveling this mistake has happened. Nightmare to deal with the GM to fix - still not as of this review. To the hotel, I have disputed the charge on my personal CC; charge my Corp CC or do not get your money - time is ticking on this for you. In my opinion, it is concerning that someone from the hotel pulled a different CC (from my Hilton Honors profile) and applied it to my room. Until the hotel gives me an explanation that makes sense, this is my opinion of how this happened. In my opinion, worst customer service as well (what a combo!). Overcharged for breakfast (please stop telling me that you erased a board with vinyl letters). No actual service from T---Y F. (although different last name on badge) as I had to get my coffee and water as well as my food. In my opinion, no breakfast is worth what you have to go through with T.F. (I was sent back to wait at the hostess stand because I entered the breakfast room without her permission and did not give my room number - is that not collected at the end?) to get it. I was first told to sit where I wanted to by a person standing at the hostess stand and dressed in a Hilton uniform - safe to assume they work there, right? Well, no. T.F. Sent me back to the hostess stand where I was made to wait until T.F. got around to getting my room number and letting me Sit. Anywhere. I. Wanted. Both mornings were equally as bad for different reasons but both involved T. F. Front desk staff informed that the F&B manager came in at 10AM and the GM came in at 3PM - can I get these hours?! The part that REALLY disappointed me is the GM actually comes in at 7:30AM, and the clerk, in my opinion, decided that he would not help me by telling me that or relaying either of my messages to him. Who gets up in the morning and decides to act that way? All captured on tape (spoiler alert to the clerk, you are camera) but the GM made every excuse for him, for T.F., and for his hotel. In my opinion, I guess someone else got up that morning and decided not be helpful. His defense, he was polite to me (is that not your job? You know, the one you are paid for?!). Per the GM, NEVER had a complaint about T.F. - this is pretty much where I stopped listening and focused on their billing error. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. The Homewood breakfast staff is even worse, in my opinion - either they ignore you

Very Good
I stayed at this property for 3 nights for a layover for my next flight. I am very picky about a hotel's cleanliness, in particular. This property was super clean from arrival and the entrance very welcoming. My room was spotless and the bed was extremely comfortable. I slept well. The complimentary breakfast was excellent and there was a variety of items to pick from. The presentation of the food and the eating area were both welcoming. I would definitely stay here again and again and would highly recommend this hotel which also has an airport shuttle and is fairly close to places you may have to drive or Uber to.
HHelen WigginsI absolutely loved this hotel! We stayed in this hotel on our way out of town & were pleasantly surprised!! The staff was amazing, the hotel was clean, great location!! ☺️
I stayed at the Embassy Suites this past weekend for a conference and all of the staff were pleasant and professional. The facility is beautiful and well maintained…. I must give a special shout out and thanks to Jada who Works the front desk with elegance, grace & compassion. She went above and beyond not just for me but o witnessed her being just as courteous and professional with another guest. She made our experience that much better. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for Jada.
WWEIIt is only a 10-minute drive from the international airport and there is a free airport shuttle minibus. Breakfast starts at 6.30, if you can't catch up, there are coffee, milk, oatmeal, hot water and so on.
SSkykissmaggieBetter than expected. The location is very good, it is convenient to eat next to it, there are barbecues and McDonald's. It is also very close to the city of Charlotte. The breakfast is normal, very clean and has no peculiar smell.
Their service sucks I reserved a room and when I called to let them know that I’ll be there at 10pm for my shuttle to pickup the guy said they have stopped the shuttle service and hung up. I immediately canceled the booking. Still they had charged me for my room which I never stayed also they had mentioned that they do shuttle service from the airport. When I tried calling to inquire about the payment the guy was like oh and went silent was not replying to me I had to hang up and call back but they had blocked my number or something. This is so frustrating. Terrible customer service.
As I have said in previous reviews, my frugal husband has a strange loyalty to Red Roof Inns, and they are often clean and comfortable and most importantly, dog friendly. This one was neither clean nor comfortable and despite the name, it is also not in the University area. It is in a sketchy industrial area amidst a bunch of trucking companies. When we checked in, I went to use the restroom and noticed that the floor looked dirty. I wiped the floor with a damp washcloth and it not only came away brown, but also wiped up actual chunks of dirt. I mentioned this to the gentleman on duty (it was evening), who was very apologetic, and said that the cleaning people were gone for the day but would definitely make sure it was clean in the morning. Long story short, that did not happen, and the floor remained disgusting. Please see my photos which show the dirty floor, the nasty old shower seat, the light switch and refrigerator which have clearly not been cleaned in a very long time, much less sanitized. The hallway had a stronger smell of **** than my son’s high school car, and in the evenings it would seep into our room. The TV is very small and very old. The deadbolt in our room did not work at all. The air conditioning system was approximately as loud as a jet engine, but it did block any noise from the hall. I am a wheelchair user and booked an accessible room, so I will describe the accessibility features in case anyone makes the ill-advised choice to book here. The “accessible“ entrance is up a small ramp which ends directly at the door which has to be opened outward. A wheelchair user must be able to simultaneously avoid rolling backwards down the hill while pulling the heavy door open. Inside that door is a key card access door to the lobby. There was plenty of space in the room itself to maneuver, and the floors are laminate. Beds are an appropriate height for manual wheelchair users. Lighting above the bed is impossible to reach without standing beside the bed or kneeling on the bed. The bathroom sink is a little high, but I was able to see in the mirror and to brush my teeth. There are rails behind and to the right of the toilet, but it is not possible to maneuver a wheelchair parallel to the toilet. There is a shower over the tub and a low built-in seat on the far end of the tub, BUT the bathroom door opens inward, and once my wheelchair was in the bathroom it was not possible to close the door so that I could get into the shower/tub. Seriously, give this one a pass.
JJahad BI have been to this hotel maybe 5 times. Twice since the new renovation. Every time I come Suhdeer the front desk manager has been amazing! The breakfast is great as well as housekeeping. Definitely will be returning!
Wwuxiao_1983Near the airport, parking is free, there is a free breakfast, standard hotel standard, cost-effective. If you drive by yourself, it is a good place to go to Atlanta.
