Charlevoix House

The accommodation is lauded for its cleanliness and convenient location near downtown Charlevoix, Lake Michigan, and attractions. Guests appreciate the comfortable, spacious rooms and varied breakfast options.

This B&B needs some attention to detail. There was rotting wood around our shower and paper cups in the bathroom. This is motel quality not B&B. Also, more directions on what was available for breakfast and where is needed since it’s being treated as self serve. Lastly, tho we didn’t need it, a room with a king bed and trundle doesn’t sleep 5.

This location is convenient to walking downtown Charlevoix. The bed was comfortable. That is where the good part ends. This house has great potential to be lovely but it's not there yet. We found a dirty bath towel still hanging on the back of the bathroom door. Our shower stahl was a small tight corner add-on. Room curtains were not room darkening allowing the morning brightness to filter through. Internet connection disconnected every 10 minutes making watching TV impossible. The morning breakfast felt like we were invading someone's private kitchen. Everything was self-serve. Scrambled eggs and sausage were cooked but needed to be reheated in the microwave. Fresh cut fruits were on the kitchen table. Some breads could be found in the bread bags on top of the refrigerator. Orange juice and milk in the refrigerator. Please don't make me use plastic cups and bowls. Stack your own dirty dishes in the kitchen sink. This does not qualify as a lovely bed and breakfast in our book. I am not one to do poor reviews because I don't like to discourage business owners but in this case buyer beware. Go with eyes wide open. We would not recommend staying here. Surely there are better places to stay in town.
