The hotel is so charming! Plenty of historic elements but still beautifully modern where it counts. We stayed in Room 1. It was small but very elegant. The bathroom tile is beautiful, the linens were great quality and the bed was very comfortable. The little hallway coffee bar is such a nice touch and the pastries in the morning even more so. The staff were all so nice and welcoming, especially Felicia who actually called me to welcome us to check in early because our room was ready. So nice! My only tiny tiny observation is that the emergency door that many guests use slams shut very loudly and since our room was right next to the door we were constantly woken up.

Stayed at the end of the holiday weekend. Staff was super helpful and digital check in because of the room we booked made everything so easy. Hope to have dinner in the restaurant on our next visit.

We absolutely loved our stay, our room was beautiful and cozy with historic charm. The bed was super comfortable and it didn’t even matter that there isn’t a tv (my husband didn’t even notice lol). We knew there wouldn’t be a fridge in the room but they do have coolers that you can borrow and they’ll fill it with ice for you (no extra charge). The staff are friendly and welcoming as well as very attentive. We enjoyed dinner at the restaurant on site and both of our steaks were tender and cooked to perfection. Afterwards we relaxed on the rooftop deck and enjoyed the sunset. It was the perfect staycation.

We had brunch in the restaurant, and we were very disappointed. Choices were limited and quality was fair-poor. It was expensive for what was offered. Staff were very nice and attentive which was a plus. Inn looks charming but we only went for brunch.

Wonderful place!! Delicious food. Have visited often and have brought others due to the delicious food. Beautifully renovated and wonderful staff. Highly recommend a visit. Get the mussels if they offer them again this summer. Going tonight to celebrate the spouse’s birthday. Looking forward to it as always.

We wanted to love this inn because of its historic buildings, restoration, great food in the tavern, and excellent service. Unfortunately, the room we stayed in was very small and dark. It was in the historic part of the building and there was little room from the walls for the queen-size bed. The lighting was limited and there were no amenities like a tv or water glasses in the room, other than free wifi. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable which made the room adequate but not a great value for the price.

What a fantastic experience ….between the History of the building itself …to the food, which was absolutely outstanding I really can’t say enough about what an absolute treat this place is ….10 minute drive to the beaches …..and the attractions of the area ,, I’d recommend this place to everyone !!!

The General Stanton is a great addition to the area! A beautiful historic hotel, close to beaches with a great restaurant and bar. My family celebrated Thanksgiving in the dining room and last night stayed at the inn (and had a drink at the bar). I can’t wait to return!
