I stayed here at the Wyndham in Charleston, South Carolina. while i was in between my house closings. They have been very helpful here. It's very clean. The amenities are great, and the location is excellent. You feel like you're at home. I would suggest to anybody to stay at that hotel.

This was the first time I booked a room at this hotel, and it will be the LAST! On arrival, I noted an odd odor in room 331, but, as I had many events planned, I deposited my bags and left the room, making a mental note to obtain an air freshener. Upon my return later that evening, the odor persisted despite the Febreeze I had purchased in my attempt to neutralize the odor. Finally, at 3:00 am the next morning, I came awake, unable to bear that horrible smell any longer. It was then that I was finally able to determine the nature of the odor: musty, damp carpet!
I immediately attempted to contact the front desk to request a better room, however, there was no answer after numerous attempts. The phone simply rang and rang, unanswered by any staff member. Undeterred, I put on my bathrobe and made my way downstairs. After I found the attendant, she offered to provide me with another room "sight unseen" despite my insistence that I would need to inspect the new room before accepting the space. She was apparently concerned that once I inspected the new room, and, perhaps, contaminated the space (my paraphrase), her staff would then be required "to clean two rooms instead of one."
I then insisted that this staff member accompany me to inspect the new room, in that case, so that she could then bear witness to any problems that may be present without my being required to make another vain attempt at contacting her. After we made our way to the new room, I stopped and attempted to hand the card key to the staff member. I did this after seeing the condition of the door, (i.e. peeled, chipped paint). The staff member refused to take the card key. I then opened the door and inspected the room. The peeling paint of the room's door matched the chipped enamel of the bathtub which was poorly concealed with cheap white paint which was wearing away.
Overall my impression of this "hotel" is that it is shabby, poorly maintained, improperly staffed, and inadequately managed. The rooms are decrepit, unclean, smelly, and sorely in need of attention. Prior to this experience, I had pre-booked another room at this same establishment for a time in the future when I would again be traveling to Charleston. Following this terrible experience, however, I subsequently canceled that booking. I will NEVER book a room from this company again.
The hotel consists of two buildings, one of which has an external corridor. The hotel service is very good, and the check-in and check-out are fast. The room has a usable area of 26 square meters and a floor height of 2.4 meters. The breakfast is rich. As it is far away from the city, the surrounding area is very quiet. But it is a bit inconvenient to go into the city. As the hotel allows pets to stay, and the house is carpeted, the springtails carried by the animals are not easy to remove, and there are more than 20 bites on my feet.
