La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Houston East at Sheldon Rd

Overall the hotel was nice and updated. The restroom was nicer than the pictures on trip.com which was a plus. The room was clean except the shower was not sufficiently cleaned. The deluxe room was spacious and the hotel staff was helpful and polite. Would stay here again.

Not bad

I paid over $500 for a week-long stay, primarily due to the hotel's proximity to where I needed to be and the Tesla charging station. Unfortunately, my experience was marred by poor service and practices. Yard maintenance staff were allowed to use a **** whacker near my car, causing dirt, rocks, and grass to be thrown all over it while I was charging. Even worse, hotel staff parked their large trucks in EV charging spots, blocking them from paying customers like me. They parked so close that their doors almost hit my car, and they weren't charged the $1 per minute idle fee that would apply to EV users. The hotel also charges extra for using the Tesla chargers, which I wasn’t informed about, and I was shocked to find a $1/minute idle fee if you leave your car plugged in after it’s fully charged. Meanwhile, staff parked in these spots with no consequences. When I complained, the front desk offered me a $20 car wash, which didn’t come close to addressing the issues. I have video evidence of everything and will be sharing this experience widely unless something is done to resolve it.

DO NOT BOOK!! I booked a room at the Sheldon Rd location on accident using the Wyndham app. Called the location when I arrived in town and realized it wasn’t the right location. I was told they couldn’t cancel it and I had to cancel through Wyndham directly which didn’t seem right because “why wouldn’t you be able to cancel if it’s for your location?” I called Wyndham as directed and was informed they couldn’t cancel because Sheldon Rd marked me as a no show and was charged for a stay when I never stayed and called to cancel. I’ve been given the run around for a month trying to have my money returned. I don’t recommend this location as I believe this is horrible business practices and should’ve never been charged in the first place.

If I can give them a ZERO I would. During my 6 1/2 hour drive I came across a few obstacles arriving to my hotel with the heavy rain I occurred thru out most of my drive. It was 10:50 pm when I checked into my hotel. I offered to show her my drivers license for proof of identity when checking in and the lady declines my ID with confidence ready to check me in. I’m extremely exhausted my eyes are strained just ready to go to sleep. I walk into my room and noticed the bathroom light being on and just felt like the room has been tampered with prior to me arriving.. the room was extremely warm and immediately turned the air down giving the room the benefit of the doubt and got myself ready for bed. As I was trying to sleep I kept waking up adjusting the air because it was not getting cooler but only warmer. I called the down stairs about 12:00Am and the lady told me she would put the AC on 68 on her system in the lobby because she can control the temperature in my room and mentions for me to call again if the room got to cold so she can adjust it. Wonderful I thought to myself so I fell right to sleep. Tossing and turning the room just kept getting warmer instead of cold. By now it’s 2:00 AM… I called the front to complain about the air and the lady downstairs had no idea who I was and why I was in level 4 room 420 and mention me as “they, them” making it known I was with a second party!!! WHICH CONFIRM IN MY CONTEXT ABOVE WHEN I CHECKED IN MY ROOM FELT TAMPERED WITH!!!!! I told the woman down stairs when speaking with her on the phone my correct name since she assumed I was someone else.. & she mentions nonchalantly Oh in my system here it looks like I have you on LEVEL 2 not LEVEL 4 I’m not sure why you are up there but go ahead and come downstairs and grab the key and go to the correct room if you’d like. Or stay in the current room for the rest of the night and by tomorrow you can move into your new room whichever you’d prefer. Oh wow how nice of you to offer me a room that’s been possibly tampered with since you mistaking me for someone else with a second party. Nonetheless sleep in the hot room. Wow thank you so much for the offer. I then asked if I can have assistant moving my stuff to the new room it’s pushing almost 3Am it’s late I had a long drive. Turns out I had to gather my belongings myself and go to the front lobby to retrieve my new key. Over all the situation had been somewhat handled however ITS 3 AM! I booked 4 nights at this hotel. I drove 6 1/2 hours dealing with constant rain it’s an inconvenience for me to have to deal with this. It’s an inconvenience to have a 4 night stay and having to call about a hot room numerous times only to find out it’s not even my room just to gather my belongings by myself at at 2:20Am go to the lobby to retrieve my key and head to the correct room. All of this could be avoided had I arrived the first time gave her my driver license & having the lady take time by looking at MY ID so she can confi

Nice clean bathroom and guestroom. Good quality towels. Good wi-fi. Free coffee avaliable. Breakfast is ok but has Room for improvement. Worth the value.
