Porto Antico

First impressions…..wow…. For our taste in the smaller hotel with a more homely feel… this is spot on, friendly people, clean, fresh, quiet. Amazing location, we had a seaview room overlooking the old Venetian Harbour and lighthouse.. room was beautiful, comfortable, all we wished for, Will definitely return to chania, and hopefully the same hotel 👍🏼

This hotel is right on the waterfront with a wonderful view of the light house and ancient Venetian harbour Rooms are clean and pleasant. Staff are helpful and efficient Most rooms have a balcony which is wonderful in the off season but maybe noisy in the height of the summer tourist season The hotel is access able using the lane with Starbucks on the corner or from the waterfront. Its a hop skip and a jump from everything in the old town

Great location, especially if you book a room with balcony. The view was fantastic! The rooms are rather basic, but the beds were fine and the water pressure good so nothing to complain about there. We got a fridge which was nice. In short, if you calibrate expectations for a basic hotel with no frills then this is a good place to stay.

This lovely hotel is on a pedestrian side street running parallel to the harbour 20m away. The location could not be better. The staff are so helpful. Breakfast is outside at the little cafe beside the front door... We went to bed with the window open and the street was lively, we closed to the window and were in silence... The staff are so friendly and helpful, we arrived on a very early flight and our room not surprisingly was not available 9AM. They took our luggage and said they would telephone as soon as the room was ready. They did a couple hours later and we arrived back to have the room ready, our bags in it along with a small bottle of sparkling wine...

Fantastic location on a cobbled side street in the old town. Communication from the hotel was excellent in advance of our late arrival. Online check-in and access to keys via a lockbox was faultless. Access to main door for residents is by key, so the hotel is very secure. Bedroom (201) had beautiful sea view. Room was clean comfortable, had wi-fi, air-con, two complimentary bottles of water in fridge, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer. An array of tavernas, cafes & restaurants surround the hotel and have all day dining options. Highly recommend Fresh Point cafe right next to the hotel entrance for a friendly welcome, great fresh breakfast dishes and super value. The hotel is close to the bus station (7 min walk) and ideally located to explore the beautiful harbour area. It is walking distance to Nea Chora beach. We found a nice swimming area, accessed by steps to the east of the harbour area, less than 10 min walk from the hotel and frequented by locals. All in all, a very enjoyable stay at Porto Antico.

Located in the walking area of the old town, just a two minute walk to the harbour. We arrived early in the evening and were provided directions on how to access our room on our own. Everything went quite smoothly. While the room was quite clean, the furnishings throughout have seen better days. I don't think the building has been upgraded for some time. A large breakfast was served in front of the hotel at small tables positioned along the narrow pedestrian walkway. We enjoyed watching the town slowly wake up. Do your research in advance regarding parking alternatives. We were fortunate to arrive at a parking lot just 400 meters from the hotel when a car was leaving. We found it easier to get to the hotel with our luggage by walking along the harbour past the restaurants and then up just 50 yards to the hotel rather than walking through the back walkways through town.
