Caldera Creta Paradise

We recently stayed at the TUI Blue Creta Paradise in Chania, Crete, as a family of three, including a 22-month-old toddler. While we made the most of our holiday, the hotel fell short of our expectations in several key areas. On arrival, we were pleased to be upgraded to a sea-view room, which was a nice touch. However, we quickly realised the location of our room – directly above the bar – wasn’t ideal. Loud music played until 1am, and the constant scraping of chairs made it difficult for our toddler and light-sleeping husband to rest. While reception staff did respond to our complaint by turning the music off at 1am on the dot, it wasn’t a relaxing atmosphere. The hotel itself had potential but could have been cleaner. As parents travelling with a young child, we were willing to overlook a bit of grime, but it was still noticeable. The food and drink were also disappointing. Meals were frequently lukewarm, overcooked, and lacked variety, with drinks only available in the main dining area – an inconvenience when entertainment was held away from the food and drink facilities. Dirty glassware was a regular issue, which left a poor impression. While the general dining options were subpar, the children’s mini disco was a standout. Our daughter absolutely loved it, and it was one of the highlights of our stay. Additionally, the maid service was excellent – plenty of fresh towels and toilet rolls without any issues. Unfortunately, the hotel’s location was quite remote, and there wasn’t much to do nearby. We did walk into Platanias, which had a lovely atmosphere and provided a nice change of scenery. A bar called Sonio was a particular highlight, offering great service and complimentary dessert. Overall, while the TUI Blue Creta Paradise had some positive aspects, the lack of cleanliness, poor food quality, and noise disturbances made it a less-than-ideal stay. We were left feeling that the hotel was cutting corners in certain areas, which impacted the overall experience. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for families seeking a restful or high-quality all-inclusive experience.
