Magnotel Classic (Changshu Yu Mountain Scenic Area)

The hotel is close to Yushan Scenic Area and Changshu Museum. Parking is very convenient. The breakfast is good with rich variety. The air conditioning in the room is good. The price-performance ratio is very high. I will come again next time.

This hotel is part of the Jinjiang Group. It has a great location, convenient for visiting the Fangta Pagoda and Yushan Mountain. The breakfast was plentiful and very cost-effective. However, the room cleaning was lacking; the fruit shells left by the previous guest remained untouched for two days, which leaves room for improvement.

Let's start with the positives. The breakfast was good and plentiful, with vegetables and hot dishes, and was served from 6:30 to 10:00. We were able to check in even when we arrived at 12:00, and the cleaning lady expedited the cleaning, which was quite flexible. Check-out was conveniently until 2:00 PM. The shower water was warm, and the air conditioning worked. The bright-eyed lady and man at the front desk were very helpful, offering recommendations for nearby attractions and restaurants. The location is across from the entrance to Yushan Mountain, making it easy to access by bus. The negatives: The hotel facilities are old and poorly maintained, with some areas simply taped over. That's fine, though. The most unacceptable thing was the poor cleanliness. The coffee tables and desks in the room were stained at first glance, and even after wiping them with wet wipes, they were still black and grimy. There was a lump of what looked like sputum on the bathroom tile floor, but I wiped it off with a tissue, proving it wasn't something indelible. There was dust all over the headboard, the sofa backrest, and even the hand sanitizer bottle. I wiped it with a wet wipe before I dared to use it. It feels like the cleaning of this store is limited to clearing out the garbage, cleaning the toilet, changing the bedding, towels, and supplies, etc. The tables and floors are not wiped, not to mention the dusty bedside tables, sofa backs, etc. It seems that this store does not have enough cleaning staff. Supplies are piled up in the corridor from morning to night, and it seems that the aunt is always cleaning.

The hotel is perfectly located, near Yushan Park, which features a musical fountain at night and is a delightful place to visit. Yanyuan Garden is a 350-meter walk away, comparable to the Suzhou Gardens and free of charge. The hotel service is friendly, and the breakfast is very generous. Walking around the area, full of the charm of the water town, is also very relaxing.

The room is clean and hygienic. The location is excellent, with Yushan Scenic Area across the road. The breakfast is also good and filling. You can't expect too much at this price. Overall, it's good.
