I had a fantastic stay at this hostel in Changsha, despite being an unfortunate incident and being the only foreigner at that time. When I came back to the hostel room on my first evening, to my horror, I saw cigarette butts and ashes all over the floor of the dorm. She quickly helped to clear the mess and was extremely helpful with dealing the problem. She found the culprit and told him of the rules, and offered me a change of room. Located in an old quarter I really liked it, very calm and not noisy. The staff is nice and patient. Bed is comfortable. I had a great stay !

I can't say how good the location is overall, since I ended up not spending any time in Changsha except sleeping - it looked like the hostel was close to a lively walking street, but the hostel itself is in a quiet alley. While it was okay getting there, the hostel was a bit tricky to find, and arriving alone in the late evening was not very comfortable for a female travelers, since you have to pass through a dark and narrow alley. The room was okay, expected for the price, but the mattress was hard as bricks so I couldn't sleep well, it was too uncomfortable. The lockers for personal items had no lock (or if there was a way to lock the staff didn't tell me), so nowhere to store personal items, making the place unsuitable for a longer stay. Bathroom has only one sink, one shower and one toilet to be shared between 2 dorms, so the bathroom was not clean when I arrived at night and everywhere was wet, which was very uncomfortable.
